I know its been said and its out of budget, but... Huntmaster. If not, more Thragtusk. Also, maybe 4 Wolf-Run since you don't have Prime Time to tutor for them this time around?

I really like Signal The Clans too, I think its a sleeper in this set.

Hijacking this thread rather than make a new one.

How should someone sideboard if they were hypothetically terrified of U/W or U/W/g Lark with heavy counter spell?

Should one of each pain be good and I forgot to say the tourney is tonight in 4 hours

If you can get your hands on them then yeah. But when you get there, try your best to get your hands on an overgrown tomb and blood crypt.

Your list is extremely similar to mine, so when playing it I would suggest your goal in every opening hand would be to get a swamp out on turn 1. This allows you to drop Woodland Cemetery and Dragon Skull Summit untapped for the rest of the game whilst having your turn 1 disruption.

I suggest the pain lands in place of the tri-lands. Also, your turn 1 play is ideally a swamp for the discard, so you may want to consider -1 forest for +1 swamp.

    Hope that helps.

  • posted a message on How important is liliiana's contribution?
Liliana is very important. There are some games where I feel like she is doing more work than me. And while the loss of 'willows hurt, you don't have to use her abilities every turn, doing none of her abilities in a turn is sometimes the best choice.

Also, Eternal Witness is unnecessary? Just today I was thinking of using her as a 1 of.... any particular reason not to use her?

I felt the same way at first, "frikin waste of my green mythic spot, jank, no immidiate use, needs to wait a turn" etc etc.

But then I thought about it... It survives Dismember (mwahahaha), screws red silly (and aggro in general), and there's all those phyrexian mana cards I like to use a la Dismember, Pod and Extraction... yeah its a solid card. I want to main 1 in my Pod deck once I get my hands on it.

Anyone doing the maths for EDH games is playing the wrong format imho

Exactly. Its a casual format, if you are crunching numbers and doing pie charts, this aint the format for you.

Wait, so according to the article, if Ruhan can't attack the first random player chosen for some reason, you can then choose to attack whoever you want? Am I understanding that correctly?

I would say my Tropical Island (revised), not cause its a dual, but because it was the only Zendikar treasure in my country Grin

I don't want to say for sure what WotC is doing or not doing until such a time that one or more of us has heard the official stance on this matter directly from the mouths of WotC employee's. Sorry, but I would rather hear from the mother ship than get wild speculation flying around that WotC is shafting its distributors.

I completely agree. Right now I just dont know what to do though... sounds scammish, but at the same time its possible its a genuine problem.

    Gah...

    Nope, not CardKid.

But I found it coincidental that more than one supplier sent similar messages, maybe lending credit to the point that WoTC really is shafting the distributors...

I got this email from an Ebay supplier today

    "
Wizards of the Coast have, once again, changed the way they are allocating
the distribution of Zendikar cases. We were contacted by 3 of our distributors
this morning and informed that all of our pre-orders have been canceled.

We are confident that we will be able to fill all of our orders *eventually*.
However it may take 30-60 days (as late as December) for us to get enough
product to cover all of our pre-release sales.
We will only be able to fill a handful of our orders within the originally
promised 1-3 days of the release. Because of this, we are giving all of
    our customers the option to:
    1) Cancel their order(s).
    -OR-
    2) Wait and we will fill the orders as quickly as we can get the cards in
    house.
Please contact us as soon as possible and let us know if you want to keep
or cancel your order. We would like to get your payment refunded as soon
as possible if you wish to cancel.
We cannot apologize enough to all of our customers for this mess. We have
never had any problems getting our pre-orders filled. If we thought that
this was even a possibility, we would not have listed any pre-release items.
If you have any questions, comments, etc., please do not hesitate to contact
    us."

    Sigh....

Edit: Upon further investigation, the website for the seller's store has the same item I bought, at $25 dollars higher, available for order.... I don't know what to say. Im reluctant to call names but this really is odd.

Ok its not illegal. Great, cool, w/e.

Why would I want to send signals to my opponents? It would be easier for them to hate-draft against me wouldn't it?

Note, I'm not discrediting the article, I genuinely would not want my opponent to know what I'm playing. I would like to know what THEY are playing...

Edit: I re-read the article and saw where you tried to justify the benefits of signaling... but I think the risk far outweighs the reward. Just my 2 cents Grin
