Sweet. That's a start. Playing around with that, I now notice that it's sorting cards in an order I didn't expect. Not sure what the criteria is.Quote from molster »the [deck] widget already works with the builder just do[deck]ID OF DECK[//deck]

Dec 15, 2017lyonhaert posted a message on MTGSalvation's Deckbuilder is Here!Well, since this is fresh and the comments are being read, I figured I'd post some initial thoughts here instead of the bugs forum.Posted in: Articles
- Making the Paste Deck option more up-front might save a lot of time for users. It was literally the last thing I saw because it's a small tab on the far right. Perhaps an initial modal question posed when building a new deck that asks the user to choose between building it manually vs pasting a list.
- Integration with deck threads would be awesome, because right now they'd have to be maintained separately. It feels like two implementations of the same feature (decklist and discussion), but I don't see people totally converting their decklist threads over to just this. Some possibilities there (and I tried to think of approaching from either direction):
- Being able to put the same widget in a post as what shows on the main page.
- A widget that serves as a replacement for the [deck] tag that shows the list of cards and such without having to click to a different screen. Possibly multiple widgets (or one with settings) for showing the different sections of the deckbuilder's information such as the descriptions. Maintaining a Primer in two places would be even more of a pain than they already are.
- Integration with the existing [deck] tag such as a new button in the upper right that allows a thread owner to convert the decklist in their OP to: A. create a new deck here if they haven't done so already and associates it with the thread; B. updates the thread-owner's associated deck if one already exists for that thread. Could also be associated to just a combination of userId+threadId per deck. Unfortunately, some selective parsing would be necessary for areas like the Commander decklist forums due to the strong convention of putting the cmc before the card name rather than the actual quantity.

And you don't even need to kick Rite to just double your board.
But since you're running a slight different build you should test, test, test! Throw Ruby Medallion in there and see how often it makes you happy versus how often you wish it were something else. Then test again with something like Fire Diamond or Fellwar Stone if there's a decent amount of red in your meta. I lean toward Fellwar due to our artifacts not being picky and it doesn't come into play tapped.
Putting a snow land on top and then getting it back for 1S(+1 you won't produce from Sheets) is the workaround. Top can help, too. But Widespread Panic is still a valuable disruption in the deck. If you're not running as many fetches + Crucible then you have fewer shuffle effects happening anyway.
Abusing Widespread Panic can also be done with Scrying Sheets. Explained in the OP. Warp World doesn't do a whole lot with Widespread Panic since there's only one shuffle effect happening.
We have Chaos Warp. The lack of enchantment removal is because red just doesn't have that. Aside from Chaos Warp and Warp World you have to do it round-about with something colorless and expensive (Unstable Obelisk/Scour from Existence/Karn Liberated) or by potentially stealing from somebody green or white (Fork/Mindclaw Shaman).
Impact Tremors is probably weakest of the Norin engines, but in the absence of some other cards is fine because it's still a Norin engine.
Ravenous Baboons is just about as good a substitute. I bit less tutorable, but interacts with bouncing a little bit better (Conjurer's Closet).
Magus of the Wheel is also good and can be re-used with Feldon.
Ruby Medallion might not give you much in return since we don't tend to cast multiple spells per turn, especially without any mana doublers. I'd probably prefer another mana rock. Also, Gauntlet of Power and Caged Sun are cheaper substitutes for Gauntlet of Might and one of them should be considered.
Unfortunately -- as I've been corrected here before -- Molten Psyche is not a wheel effect, which are good for refilling our hand. Reforge the Soul for example will get you seven new cards no matter what. However, if you have 4 cards including Psyche and cast it you're only going to get 3 new cards.
If you're going a bit heavier on sorceries, Anarchist can be good, but another possibility is Mindclaw Shaman to use your opponent's instants/sorceries instead. YMMV
I don't know how Fiery Gambit will benefit you at all. I've only ever seen it used in Zada decks.
Finally, the other cards. You seem to be wanting to add more chaos, but to my understanding this deck isn't so much about causing chaos as using chaos when appropriate to buy time -- that the point of chaos enchantments like Grip of Chaos and Planar Chaos is to make your opponents hold back until somebody manages to remove the enchantment. I stopped using Possibility Storm in some decks because it actually encouraged one control player to cast more spells instead of less. It causes some randomness, but doesn't really stop people from doing things and some decks can take advantage of it. While Grip and Planar mess with more types of strategies, Impulsive Maneuvers and Tide of War only interfere with combat and quite possibly won't stop other strategies at all. And the ever-present caveat with these enchantments is that if nobody has removal for it, their only way to remove it is to remove you. So timing of use is pretty important and for that reason you won't want to pack too many.
Wheel effects like Wheel of Fortune, Reforge the Soul, and Memory Jar can be valuable.
Spot removal in red is slim, so Chaos Warp and Aftershock are staples, just to make sure they're mentioned.
You could simply steal from your opponents with Mob Rule, Molten Primordial, Fork/Reverberate, Reiterate, Wild Ricochet, and Knowledge Pool. There are lots of spells that are just lovely to copy.
You can live without Imperial Recruiter easily. There are some notes somewhere in the thread about it -- that you play the deck a little bit differently with it vs without it due to being able to tutor power <=2 creatures and not just goblins.
Goblin Settler can be replaced with Goblin Ruinblaster or Avalanche Riders. Or by something else entirely if you don't need much land destruction in your meta.
You can live without the Crucible of Worlds + fetches + LD package. Pretty much anything $20 or more is replaceable and the deck still runs really well.
neglectedchosen not to do.Also, one of my suspicions is that Emrakul is using the moon as a sort of cocoon and isn't really "trapped".
You might be different, your playgroup might be different. You can add/remove such pieces until you find the balance that's right.
