I understand the sentiment... sort of. Instead of a lack of content, I have the opposite problem, too much content. I see something and I get inspired to write an entire novel out of the one spark. And the sad thing is that I have more than enough content to do it most of the time.
To give you an example of how bad my problem is, I read on Wikipedia about how hard and difficult it is for humanity to get the idea for an alphabet (like the Latin alphabet we use). This got me to think, well if it is so hard to create an alphabet, I wonder if any other intelligent life in the universe has created an alphabet that could easily represent different languages. Which led to the idea that once humanity makes contact with aliens, humans become the default linguists and diplomats of the universe since they introduce the first trans-language alphabet to the universe. And then by extension English becomes the universal language of the universe. And basically this is just the tip of the iceberg of my entire idea that was sparked by that one line that I read on Wikipedia, because then I got thinking that humans are unusually well programmed for language learning, retention, and making a wide-range of sounds and inclinations, meaning there is a strong possibility that we would be able to learn and speak most alien sound-based languages in some form or another. Another interesting fact is that the more languages one learns the easier it is to learn and retain another language.
But the problem is that I get one idea, get 10-20 pages into it and then find another idea that drags me in the opposite direction. Well that and it seems most of my ideas revolve around vampires (which is no surprise to anybody that knows me).
The best I ever did was I got about 100 pages into a finishing writing the novel before I got dragged into a different direction by another spark. Though it is so far along that I will come back to it eventually. Plus it is number two on my top 3 novel ideas, so I got motivation to finish it.
Right now I am like 50 pages into the novel I am writing, and I have committed myself to finishing it through thick and thin, no matter what else may ignite my spark.
Hmm... I wrote a lot for just a response.
Metallic Sliver- A good solid one drop for any non white sliver deck.
Plated Sliver- A great one drop in any sliver deck.
Sidewinder Sliver- A 1/1 for W with flanking, that gets better in multiples, is pretty good for any aggressive deck, and if it wasn't for the presence of Savannah Lions or Sulfur Elemental, this card would probably be seeing play in some aggressive WW or Boros deck.
Mindlash Sliver- This guy already sees a lot of competitive play as it is a staple in a lot of Mono Black Rack decks that are doing pretty well in standard right now.
Virulent Sliver- While not the strongest of all these cards, there is something to say about how powerful this card can become in multiples. They are also an assassin's best friend when you have to take down someone with a lot of life. Kind of reminds you of those guys who leave scorpions in the room to kill you at night.
Go Go Team Scorpion!!!
1. Gettig rid of the do not reprint list. (As they have admitted on several occasions that it was probably not the right thing to do in the first place.)
2. We see more reprints of cards we thought impossible, I mean we have already seen reprint of Psionic Blast, Tormid's Crypt, and Hypnotic Spectre.
1. Split Lands - Mana Fixing has never looked this versitile, and P.S. if you are running these then you are most likely going to have either a source of red or black mana. It reminds me of the arguemnt about why running four karoos in a deck is bad.
2. Trip Lands - They are like the stronger, older brother of the pain lands as they are not afraid to hurt you and you can always extract knowledge from them (i.e. draw a card). Definitly a four of in any GW aggro deck. Also I think they should be called trip lands as A. Cantrip lands sounds bad and is two syllybles B. Lands are where you take trips too C. You learn knew things while on trips (Trips to lands or otherwise).
3. Gain Lands - These lands are at number 3 because they are worse than pains in aggro and better than pains in control, unlike the spilt and trip lands that are good in both.
4. Tainted Lands - While nice in that they offer you a color you supposedly need, the problem is that in this world of nonbasics it is a very feasible possibility that you won't have either a plains or island in play, which means that it is now useless.
5. Mad Lands - While nice they are too conditional and random for my taste. Also after a certain point, about mid to late game, you will be hard pressed to reliable get black mana from it.
On a second note I think that they didn't put all of the land types in the right colors. Here is my list of which land is which. The RG and UW ones should be switched, I mean how many RG decks do you know that want thier opponents to gain life.
Finally my list for lands that I most want to see printed:
1. Trip Lands - New and unique land idea
2. Split Lands
3. Gain Lands
4. Tainted Lands
5. Mad Lands
I personally think that the keyword for untargetability should of been Null. I mean Null sounds like it can't be the target of spells or abilities. Oh you want to kill my Calciderm with Skred, well my Calciderm nullifies any magic or spell in it's general vacinity. I also would of accepted Immunity.
My Verdict::thumbsup:
Though because of this and sudden shock, I am sad to anounce that sakura-tribe elder, current rank STE, has been demoted down to a STD.
Also It's finally nice to know that Wizards are starting to appreciate the finer things in life, because as a mercenary I like my more sophisicated tastes: gold, women, violence, wine(preferly a merlot), and women with gold.
Also I think R&D hates the Baldwin brothers as Boldwyn=Baldwin. But that's okay I always knew they were cowards, especially Alec.
Cryptic Annelid, really is cryptic, as I keep flip flopping between it being the most ingenous or the most useless use of repetitive keywords. My brain hurts, luckily I am not paid to think. At least I don't think I am. Oww!!!:banghead:
I give it two thumbs up!!!:D
Remember the arguement that Mystic Sphinx has to be green because of the artwork?
Also I always thought that Vanillas should be textless, because vanillas by thier very nature aren't that flavorful usually, and therefore get horrible flavor text. I would be happy if it was a permanent change.
Also I always liked VenserTheNewPlaneswalker he was a little cocky, gruff, and arrogant, but when you are the dedicated to getting info out so early, even when it could cause you personal harm (We all know R&D are high ranking hobbits in D&D, that don't appreciaye R&R, because they would rather make a block named after PB&J, even though BLT's are better. Done Rant.) I believe you have every right to be like that, plus he added a nice dinamic to the Rumormonger team.
(Que theme song)
La La La
Brother Hydro - Wise man that wants you to learn the answers yourself
Hunter - Player with the ladies, and the guy that always has a good story to tell
Orange_Mage - Creepy Guy that is orange, likes his numbers though
VenserTheNewPlaneswalker - Tough and Gruff, you think he's wrong, just wait, he'll get the last laugh
Fighting through R&D
Making Rosewater curse in his sleep
The Rumor Team!!!
Also since Plainswalker is now a card type, does that mean that I can now be a card? Cool!
