I think Genesis Hydra and Chord are different enough that Wizards could justify printing both of them. One is a creature that digs. The other is an instant with convoke that tutors.
I've meant GH as a fixed Chord in the maning that GH could be seen as a Chord that goes at sorcery speed but leaves a body behind in compensation, and can't tutor the entire library but as deep under your top as you can pay for. That seems a pretty core set-esque versión for a Chord, IMO.
I feel that Genesis Hydra actually makes itself a sort of a proof that the chord could haven't been included in M15. I mean, GH is basically a fixed Chord of Calling from my perspective. It would be weird to include two cards with similar effects in the same color and rarity spot(Rare/mythic Green tutoring for X). Does any of you reminds of a similar addition in the latests core sets? (similar effect at same color and rarity). I know that R and M aren't the same, but Rare and Mythic are closer than C/U or U/R.
Seriously, I've arrived to this post because my original intention was to open a thread with the following question: "Could Genesis Hydra be a clear hint meaning Chord of Calling isn't going to be reprinted?". Thing is I have Chord and not sure about trading away or not.
EDIT: For example, I've been ofered a playset of promo Restoration Angels for a Chord, and I feel very very tempted of sealing that deal.
Another weird thing is that SCG has lowered down Chord's Price by 5 bucks and added some pieces to a stock that before appeared as empty. Just wondering why...
It seems it has been a millenia since the last time I posted something here... This was a pretty damaged FoW I was comissioned to restore. Here's the result:
As longer as paint stands sticked to a card, as harder becomes to remove it. Also, if the guy used oil médium to créate color transitions (highly probable), it's pretty imposible to remove the pigments from the original painting layer of the card. Just try to find the "boyfriend" for that alter and move it on to buy other stuff. I wouldn't even try to un-alter that money piece.

This nightmare scenario is going to happen and I'm going to cry when it does.
And I'm gonna be so happy at being the blue player!
It is fun how ppl usually doesn't realizes the power level of the long-therm relevant cards until they land on a given top 8. This girl is pure profit and a relief for control players. I bet time will probe it. C'mon! It even Works well with a graveyard/mill themed strategy! So flexible! (yeah, I know those use to be fringe strategies in general, but I'm sure you catch the point).
Agreed on the Dakra Mystic. It's gonna see a LOT of play in many formats, and it's gonna be a money uncommon in the future. It's plainly god because it is in the right color, it allows you to play with open mana, it denies resources to your opponent, while can give you extra ones if needed, it can hit and can also chumpblock, it belongs to a very relevant tribe and it has a gorgeous artwork as a bonus track.
I've seen many people saying this should have been common. I would like to tell those people that it could actually have been a rare. Uncommon is just a right spot for such card, avoiding it to be a headache in limited, while also making it pretty affordable once it starts to be demanded as "4 of" in every standard (modern?) U deck.
Perhaps I'm overeacting, but this one seems to be a long-therm star in the set. Let's time do its thing and see.
EDIT: Oh! And I've missed something to comment here: Jace Beleren and Mikokoro, Center of the Sea were and still being good cards. Now their cheap drawing effect can be active a turn earlier, doing its thing in a more flexible way, and it costs one less mana for the first activation and 2 less for the rest of the game while compared to Mikokoro. Just sayin'

Why have they did that to Chameleon COlossus? It was a standard staple then, and wasn't soo good anyway. Dudes weren't as boosted as they're now then, so Heroe's Bane could have clearly been costed at 2GG nowadays and would have still being a fringe card. (It still being a great inclusión in a Green pre deck).
I used to fight with troublemakers (hello?) almost every time I got drunk on a disco, so I stopped getting drunk (and going to discos too, just in case). So, it seems that steping on my middle 30's more and more is turning me into a "boring" person too (for good).
A funny (not really) one was that time I've took a cab and, at the fast track, I had to open the door and vomit. The guy was worried about the upholstery, but everything went fine -with me being the "007" of the spewers-.
Well, what we were discussing the last time about the contests' return was something like the following:
Instead of proposing a task each month (and all the things involved in such process), there would be a comitee that would take care of the selection of a determined amount of alters and artwork pieces from the whole production shared by the users during the month, then these would be added to a poll for votation.
This way, we would never have an attendance issue anymore, while also ppl wouldn't need to adjust to a particular task (there are many gifted alterists that just can't afford to spend time in a non-comissioned piece to jump in the competition every month). We would discuss the possibility of adding limitations for each month, so the group of valid entries could be reduced (we would be announcing these in advance in case we decide to apply them). Or... We could add a special prize for those pieces that meet a given condition (it wouldn't probably be a cup, but perhaps it would be a sort of score table that would reléase a cup after a given time frame).
Also, the comitee would be conformed by people that has experience in the area, such as renowned alterists, mods, etc).
Beautiful (this card has SO MUCH potential for alter purposes...) Those beads are delicious...
What about adding a handpainted extensión of the wings appearing from under the first border (first layer? or last one? Not a crack on 3D therminology). It would make it look super perfect while also mixing both, 3D and traditional altering. Just an idea (you can even make them 3D, with each feather at a different level and unfolded).
Agreed in that you should give your talent a try at an artistic formal job/career, Demo. You're so good that it would be a pity if you just invest your talent in something you consider a hobby (being so Young and gifted, you have a world of possibilities).
Good luck in your new projects, buddy!:thumbsup::thumbsup: (still, I hope to see your work here at the fórums as usual, even if it is non-magic related -there´s a subforum for that-)
EDIT: I almost forgot...
@Kris13: I just love your take on portraits. Please, keep these comming (they're even educational for those who would like to improve portrait making *cough*)
That's exactly my concern...

The idea is to keep the one entry per artista thing, of course (as well as no selfvoting, etc. etc.)
I'm glad you like the idea, ZS
