i have a question for those of you that play paper pauper. i'm going to be making some pauper decks and decided that mbc would be good to have. going back a few comments here (looking for the most current) i noticed nobody mentioned hymn to tourach or raven's crime and was wondering why?
if i had to guess hymn might be too slow and r.c. might be a worse duress (even if it is repeatable) plus it's a nonbo with corrupt and tendrils? am i on the right track here or am i missing something?
the goal was not to go infinite, rather just neuter my opponents deck. in all honesty i hadn't even considered an infinite possibility. what would that be, 4 cards minimum? no, i just never see it played. seems like a card that would be fun. can it be powerful? i think so. is it win more? Yeah i guess so. one of those cards that could fluctuate in and out every now and again.
as far as the link you provided, yes, that's more along the lines of what i was thinking with Meren. this thread just seems to be a bit more active from what i've seen. sorry for the laziness, but don't get me wrong, i can appreciate the work you've put into your build and may try some ideas as it continues to evolve. so please, keep up the good work and maybe down the line i might pop back in to pick your brain.
I've recently been interested in making a Meren deck and i would like to ask, on average about how many creatures can you reliably get into the graveyard? Both yours and your opponents. The reason i ask is because i'm thinking of using Bitter Ordeal in the deck.
the first is: which do you believe has the more powerful ability? Grenzo, Havoc Raiser with the goad ability? or Adriana, Captain of the Guard with the melee ability?
second question: just to be clear on the goad mechanic, if i were to goad a players creatures but we are the last two remaining players then the creatures that are goaded are still able to attack me because there are no other players left in the game right?
the chasm can be worth it. if you're playing blue for instance you could potentially bounce the chasm back to your hand at the end of your opponents turn and not pay the two life, then replay it on your next turn. thereby creating a soft lock that could potentially lead you to win the game. now understand that effects that cause you to lose any amount of life won't be stopped. the chasm can cause opponents some headaches. also, the chasm can be used outside of blue decks, you just need to find the right fit for it. black works well if you gain a lot of life.
when the card was first talked about i had this idea of a blue tokens deck going around in the back of my mind so i naturally first thought of Master of Waves. now seeing all of todays top threads i'm reminded of Kokusho, the Evening Star. just make sure you have a way to recur Kokopuffs obviously.
You put 2 into play when he attacks and sac the copies to drain everyone for 10. No real need for recursion.
but he's legendary. wouldn't the copies coming in cause the legendary rule to apply thereby making you sac all three?

all right, so excluding the reanimating option do we know if we need wastes to actually cast it or will any land that produces colorless mana work?
also, since wastes is a basic land type does that change some things with other decks? not really sure which decks might get affected or how just throwing out a general question here.
if it were attached to say.... Master of Waves and the master was declared as an attacker, could the tokens that the newly birthed masters create also attack the same turn (if they had haste)?
if the blade was attached to Shapesharer and the activated ability was used before attacking will the tokens generated be more shapesharers or what the sharer is copying?

immolating glare
cliffhaven vampire
kalitas, traitor of ghet
reflector mage
they may not all be the best cards for multiplayer, but these currently have my attention.

also what is this Reveillark combo? and would you consider it more degenerate than say the Sword of the Meek Thopter Foundrycombo i've seen mentioned
