And yeah, the Transformer card is probably an Optimus Prime homage DFC that's a Vehicle on one side.
Literally the only thing I don't like about that idea is that it won't be in a black bordered set. I mean that sounds like it could be a pitch for a supplemental set that takes place on Kaladesh or a similar world.
Really I think Star of extinction is not going to kill them all off in this.
Besides almost positive more dinosaurs are going to be printed in rivals of ixalan.
Agreed. It's not story spotlight, so it's probably just a flavorful top-down design for an iconic dinosaur trope. Plus ruining one of the most iconic and popular aspects of the plane - before the block is over, no less - would not make much sense at all.
It would also be ridiculously annoying. That would be what feels like the latest in a billion times of WOTC essentially destroying a beloved/interesting plane. Mirrodin, Zendikar, Innistrad, Amonkhet.
It's time to stop.
No more multiversal threats. No more doomsdays. Let's just have some fun and explore.
I'd like to point out none of the worlds have been destroyed and Zendikar is basically reset back to statue quo minus the areas the eldrazi ate. We also just had Kaladesh which was more self contained, and neither Ravnica, Tarkir, Theros or Kamigawa have been trashed. Alara and Lorwyn/Shadowmoor have been altered idk if you'd call them trashed.
I think having a conflicts on that big of scale is something wizards is good at showing and it help the different sets in a block have thier own identity, so now we are moving to the blockless plan I think just visiting a world is more of an option.
Kaladesh was more self contained, but remember that while it wasn't a plane wide disaster the portal Tezzeret and Bolas wanted would have become a multiplanar threat, so in a way it was the furthest reaching story since Time Spiral.
Tarkir was a little trashed, since an entire version of it disappeared thanks to time shenanigans. Sure, it's still there, just not the original version of it.
After that you are certainly correct, it's really only been Zendikar, Innistrad, and Amonkhet which have more or less been destroyed since Origins and the only one before that was Mirrodin/New Phyrexia.
And I'd personally argue that the new Tarkir is a lot less interesting than the old Tarkir.
I was expecting an uncounterable counterspell. UU with land exert? This isn't bad though.
That's what I was expecting a Counterspell for UU with land exert. Fun card though, I like this one.
Actually when I read the card name I was expecting a 1UU costed Last Word with land exert (along with "Today, I have been bested, but my last spell will remain unforgotten in history!")
Sure, we got something probably better, but I had so much expectations reading the name I'm still disappointed it isn't a counterspell of some sort (and will probably continue to be).
Their rats can't kill your cats because your cats have protection from rats.

It probably has something to do with that giant cheese burger one of them is hauling.
It's like the flavor text version of Line-O-Rama.
I was hoping it would be a card draw spell.
That's because unlike the others she survives.
