Went to the GP playing Nikachu's list with one small change, never got a Oboro, Palace in the Clouds so replaced it with a 4th Wanderwine Hub.
round 1 vs Jund.
G1 we both mull to 6 hes on the play gets out a turn 2 bob i have no kill so i vapor snag to try to keep him off card advantage. he gets 2 bobs down and kills everything i play.
G2 on the play I just snowball him and dump my hand faster then he can kill stuff.
G3 I mull to 6 lots play out as much as i can he kills just about everything get a Kira down and he decays it :-( mutavaults get him to 5 I'm also at 5. He drops goyph and i have to dismember it to have a chance. topdeck war starts he pulls 2 kitchen finks in a row. I block and kill both but only have 1 blocker when he swings with them the 2nd time. (loss)
Round 2 vs Infect
G1 he only gets a noble on board and i just overrun him with fish.
G2 he gets a noble and spellskite. I drop chalice on 1 he then plays Wild Defiance but never plays anything else. after the game we talk for a bit about infect(i used to play it) and I let him know about the Wild Defiance and chalice interactions. (win)
Round 3 vs Burn(RBg with Tasigur)
G1 he starts out killing everything I play then drops Tasigur. I dismember Tasigur and start getting fish to stick and push out a win. As we are siding hes chatting with the guy next to him and says his deck is just a burn deck with black. At that point I was siding as If he was Jund I make the decision to change to the burn plan.
G2 He plays the burn hand to the face this game. get him down to 6 with guys on board im at 4 and he plays a bolt of the top plus the one he was holding. Still Glad i changed the SB plan gave me a fighting chance. Remember loose lips sink ships.
G3 On the play I come out of the gates swinging and take him down before he even gets me under 10. (win)
Round 4 vs grixis brew
G1 I can't get anything to stick and he ends up with a snapcaster and Vendilion Clique onboard vs me topdecking. I scoop to save time(only ~35 min left at that point)
G2 He's killing just about everything but I get a mutavault and one or 2 guys to stick dismember his early Tasigur and stick to the slow beatdown.
G3 3 cursecatchers and some early counters keep him from doing much and i whittle him down.
The salt was real. (win)
Round 5 vs UR twin.
G1 he mulls to 6 and plays a few digging spells. I was on the strong beat down plan. At this point i was thinking he was Storm but on the last 2 turns he plays Pestermite and Deceiver Exarch to tap stuff down trying to live an extra turn. No top deck win for him.
G2 Slow beat down holding up remand and spell pierce. I messed up and put spreading seas on his Steam Vents and not his basic mountain then draw tec edge off the seas. sticking to the slow beat down and win out. (win)
Round 6 vs Jund.
Shows he a try hard before the games even start. Telling me how to hold his deck when I shuffle and other small things.
G1 stick a silvergill but he keeps removing everything and crushes me under goyfs.
G2 I get a few guys to stick and he sticks a goyf the race is on. get him to 3 before he removes all my threats but cant get anything to stick and die to the goyf. (loss)
Round 7 Vs Merfolk. (so ready for this. 3 people at my shop play fish so i know the mirror really well)
G1 on the play he misses a block after talking himself in to thinking a master of the pearl trident gave himself islandwalk. this lets me get lethal damage by 1 a few turns later.
G2 No lords get played for the first few turns. I end up vialing in a reejery then dropping 2 lords of Atlantis of untap triggers on my lands and swing for the win. (win)
Sitting at 5-2 this is the best I have ever done in a GP wife and friends are cheering me on. need to win the next 2
Round 8 vs GW hate bears
G1 bit of a back and forth but I vial in a Kira to stop any removal and just keep swinging overwhelming him with Fishfolk.
G2 he mulls to 5 shocks to play a bird but never gets a 2nd land and I just win the game. (win)
OMG so pumped one more game and I make day 2!
Round 9 vs Affinity
Really good spirits all around this table people are going to make day 2.
G1 on the play he dumps his hand ends up with 3 Signal Pest on board. I dismember 1 but with no way to deal with the others he gets a platting on and wins fast.
G2 I make a joke that i want him to mull to 3. I get close to my with he goes down to 4 BUT I also end up going to 4.
Hand was island dismember silversill and reejery. One land and I'm golden.
Dismember his Ornithopter in response to Mox Opal. draw a vapor snag not a land but it will do. he drops a Vault Skirge and a plaiting I snag it Eot so I can drop the silvergill with out getting smacked for lots in the air. I draw a dismember still on one land. Pass and he drops the Vault Skirge Equips and passed the turn I kill it EOT and topdeck a lord. Pass and hope he doesn't draw a body. He dose and I just keep drawing lords and get beat down. (loss)
6-3 my best ever at a GP. Over all a good day. Still hate the Jund match up.

Was thinking of running gruul zoo. But after seeing all the hate for zoo decks at the PT was thinking its time for a new deck.
Yeah, Zoo is probably not the best deck to take. I still think people are going to hate it very strongly, and it didn't have a very good showing at the PT. Despite being the most played archetype, it didn't perform well, and wasn't in final tables let alone the top 8.
Looks like Affinity is still a good deck to play. Still performing well. Tarmo-Twin is also very good as a deck and I'm not sure if the combo nature of the more tempo-oriented deck throws you off or not.
I was looking at Tarmo-twin guess I'm going to sleeve it up and give it a try. affinity can do great game 1 but so much hate comes out of the board in every match-up.

had amindslaver used on me in my upkeep i reminded him about the triggers for my Assemble the Legion. he told me that i was going to miss the triggers for the card.
a few shops in my area are having GPTs for modern masters but some of them are putting limits on the number of players (16 max). I remember a shop keeper telling me years about that they couldn't turn away people from a PTQ or GPT. Has something changed or was he wrong?
If a spell has more then one target and just the first goes away then the spell still goes off. it only "fizzles" if all of a spells Targets cant be targeted for some reason.
How much is box mapping costing wotc? If people map dose wotc sell any less sealed boxes or do they end up selling more? The people who may or may not lose money are on the secondary market
One thing wizards could do is go back to just one pack image. This may stop all box mapping but will make it much harder as the mapping uses the images as a way to tell if packs have been shifted around or shuffled in a box
