My personal favorite, and what became a family tradition, was The Muppet Christmas Carol. Muppets plus Michael Caine equals win.

Muppet Christmas Carol and Christmas Story... I'd have to flip a coin to decide... and it would probably land on it's edge and it would still be a tie.
The Road was an amazing story (the book, deservedly, won a Pulitzer). The movie was definitely depressing, and didn't convey the emotional story very, IMO.
Try 'Moon' starring Sam Rockwell. You'll either love it, or hate it, but I think it has that same kind of disjointed feel that Donnie Darko, Fight Club and Memento have.
Blade Runner is probably as close to Ghost in the Shell as you can get in live action movies. Maybe Dark City would interest you. Classic line: "SHUT IT DOWN!"
If you liked Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood you MUST watch Gangs of New York.
Thank you for your suggestions. I'm currently reading Lady Death which looks like exactly what I was looking for: a female heroine set in fantasy sword&sorcery setting.
The only problem is that so far it seems just to be action action action. Also, the entire comic just screams softcore porn to me. Is the entire series like this?
@Voila: thanks for the webcomics. Some of them are hillarious.
As I recall, Lady Death came out around the same time as Vampirella and Cry for Dawn... if that helps any as to the content.
Have you checked out 'Sword' by the Luna brothers? Devils Due Publishing also did the legend of Drizzt as several graphic novels/mini-series (that's what interested my wife in comics)
Re-reading 'The Name of the Wind' by Patrick Rothfuss. New to the fantasy scene in the last few years. He's a perfectionist... which is why it has taken 3 years and his 2nd book STILL isn't out. >:-[
This deck goes crazy after a Promenade. Crown/Bloodline Shaman is a great card drawing tool. Essence Warden/Storm Herd and Angel of Salvation are just icing on the cake. My biggest problem is (of course) board sweepers... maybe Darksteel Forge?
Thanks for all the input everyone. It's greatly appreciated and I will be adding many of the suggested entwine/bigger burn cards as I get them.
Tooth/Kiki will be added ASAP. Grab the Reins is nice and it goes well with Sarkhan Vol.
The premise is simple: ramp up with land search and mana elves, play Mirari and every spell in the deck is basically 3x (more with Recollect, Regrowth and Witness). Bramblewood Paragon is awesome with the various +1/+1 creatures (Ashling, Vinelasher, Magistrate, Vigor). Hateflayer + Elemental Mastery (+Furystoke/Fusillade).
I built this from a fairly limited collection and there are no organized play groups where I am from so I have yet to test it but, it could be fun in a casual EDH group. edit: Added Worldly Tutor, Gloomwidow's Feast, Eladamri's Vineyard, Spike Feeder, Phantom Nantuko, and Arashi. I removed various 1:1 burn spells as suggested by Nicol Bolas. I would happily add Garruk if I had one (or the means to obtain one).
LotR:TT was my favorite of the 3.
