Ill probably buy a Devil's Play and a few Bramblecrush for EDH, a playset of Victim of Night, and maybe a Past in Flames for wishboard. And in a couple years maybe some Snapcasters.
Thats a little below average for me, I guess. Usually there are a few more cards that I want playsets/singles for in large expansions but not this time.
That list is nothing more than the Sky Hussar list that -spooky- posted in the legacy primer, except it had Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Karmic Guide and Sky Hussar replaced with gitaxian probe (which is more generally useful than any of the above) and laboratory maniac as the wincon.
This needs a Bridge from Below instead of the 4th Moeba, a 2nd DR and a Hapless Researcher.
The Kiki combo is sill better for versatility (BONUS TERASTODON RAWR), Lark combo is protected from removal and doesnt use the attack phase, and infinite jellyfish with Emrakul is more compact.
The Maniac can be used in legacy Cephalid Breakfast as a win con. The package would be a 2nd Dread Return, the Maniac, and something like Hapless Reasearcher. Not sure its better than Kiki Jiki kill for versatility, or the Revelliark kill for protection, but its easier to hardcast the combo if it gets stuck in your hand.
Anyone know why they stopped printing in Korean in the first place?
I know a guy who grew up in South Korea in the nineties, and he told me all about how MTG was all the kids would do all day. Like all day every day, to the point of it being problem. His theory was that a Korean authority intervened so that Magic wouldnt become a Broodwar-esque productivy killing obsession.
I thought is was an interesting story, but I imagine the truth is more mundane.
Dunno if this has been covered in 25 pages, but what the heck is with her legs? This is one of the worst postures ever on a card, up there with the Garruk card from the duel decks. It looks like she has one leg, and that's in the middle of her body. If it's supposed to be her left leg, why is she leading with her right shoulder? Where are her hips? If it's her right leg, where is her left leg? The artwork looks pretty until you realize just how bad Argyle's grasp of anatomy is. Maybe he should have taken a break from drawing all the scenery and studied the human physique some more?
Agree. I think he started drawing the figure from the head and shoulders down, which is kinda of a no-no for a full body portrait, then decided on adding the staircase later and had to tweak her lower half to accommodate. She looks like a ghost floating in front of a green screen background.

Prophecy makes Fallen Empires look like a masterpiece. Easily the worst set.
Goblin Lore and Control of the Court have been around for a while. Lore was reprinted as recently as Xth edition.
I have no idea how this follows what I said.
Technically, Meddling Mage is a white card.
How long ago was that thread about the questionably attractive lady wearing the promo T shirt? This one hasnt eclipsed that yet.
Do a search for the original the Mind" target="blank">Keeper of the Mind artwork. Its an interesting episode in MTG art history.
