Jadelight isn't just body. Our entire lineup can be fatal pushed. It's card filtering. Failing the X test is an argument that just doesn't work in an era of push
Brontodon can POTENTIALLY replace Baloth. Baloth is still such a huge body for 3. Really torn about that slow: Brontodon, Baloth, Groundbreaker are all equally good in different ways.
As for the Jadelight Ranger: I've been testing it and really like it. It's really great later so you don't dead draw a 2nd or 3rd Militant or late Experiment One. It's a good filter and potentially a 4/3 for 3 that gets you through dead draws.
So we've moved just completely away from mono green now? Doesn't at all seem like the same deck whatsoever. Curious as to why the above belongs here and not in an abzan forum?
MONO Green wise I am looking at Skylasher and Great Sable Stag as both being great meta choices even if side. I think Treetop isn't though and should probably be put away. Canopy is better, Field of Ruin is good for us, or even Tec Edge. Treetop dies to the million land destroyers, bolt, push, comes in tapped... we have better options.
It gives fuel for Finish, let's not ignore that. Also, it's not a turn 1 play as we aren't gonna flip it until 3 at the earliest anyhow. I like it turn 3+ and flip that same turn.
I think a 1 or 2 of will end up mandatory for this card. And in some match ups in the sideboard, especially where you are bringing in things like Secure the Wastes and big Elspeth.
Matter reshaper playtesting has begun. Seems better then Tracker, way better then Shaman. No downside. Dies, plays a card, survives, does 3. I've also never really been able to get Tracker to matter. Dies fast with no upside when he does, games aren't long enough for him to matter and paying for that card draw takes us off Co Co or threats.
The ability to find what you need is really nice. If you have a 75 link, post it. Gonna put mine up. I think this deck has potential for sure but there are SO many options it's hard to find the real must haves, there are almost none in this deck.
PS: 7 mana dorks too many or does Fauna Shaman change that?
So after some playtesting, the second Azusa is a must. It can make some games back breaking for opponents or allows you to be really explosive. Fauna Shaman is also a never bad top deck. It's really allowed me to fix bad draws and coco hits and finish up games.
I've also been playing 1 of Dromoka's Command. Still needs more testing, but seems fine.
A blue splash also seems strong, using Unified Will or Stubborn Denial and Reflector Mage out of the board for combo and control matches, Tron, etc. Needs more testing, but seems really good. Been looking at potentially red instead of blue. Huntmaster out of the board seems powerful.
Otherside board options I've been looking at include Obstinate Baloth or Smiter for their appropriate match ups.
Do you have a list for your current deck, Catmix? Fauna Shaman is something I was thinking of too. Late birds sucks. Late birds being anything you want does not. Potentially fixes bad Co Co hits too.
I have a few questions about this deck as I've been playing it for a while.
Why Ramunap in the side? When do you ever need 3?
Why Finks over Goyf? You need another threat, no?
Is there anyway to get trample? I feel like some decks (Mono W Hatebears for example, elves) just get too many small things on board and chump forever. I've been using Rhonas a bit and it seems good, but maybe not good enough on it's own.
The game plan seems heavily built around Knight and sometimes it feels like the worst card in the deck. I am obviously missing something here. GY hate kills it, push kills it, it gets chumped.
This deck is actually relatively in it's infancy. Sure the color scheme is eternal, but this deck is very hard to play with so many lines.
I'd rather Thoughtseize or Inquisition on Turn 1 on almost every game.
Our problem isn't what we don't have. It's what everyone else does have. We're just a weak deck right now with Tron being so prevalent and need to work through it and survive the cycle to when we're in the positive again. Fatal Push and Collective Brutality helped our deck a lot. Blessed Alliance was a boon. We'll see if we can get some more solid token generation soon!
So I sort of put this together yesterday and played a few games. What we need is tough, there are so many routes. ElEvo sort of folds to control, so that might be a problem if we don't play around them. I also wonder if we don't want Traverse to set up a bit. I never had problems getting delirium with Scrapheap Scrounger, Fatal Push, Evo, etc.
The big thing now is trying to decide what colors (Abzan seems best, maybe splash blue for Negate or Dispel) and what drops I want in which slots. Ishkanah and Heart of Kiran were the absolute winners for me in the playtesting, both giving us so much reach, evasion and bodies.
I am looking at this deck and I think it had legs. As long as Eldritch Evolution is in the format, it can do something. Even right now the value in Matter Reshaper, Gitrog Monster, Ishkanah, Gearhulks, etc is pretty immense.

Is this going to be a thing? Does the Lingering Souls spell cause an effect that puts tokens on the board for example?
