Hey
I'm trying to build a blue/red madness-deck post 10th.
The deck is basicly a mix of the old Liquid Tempo aka. U/G Madness deck, and the synergy between Squee and various discard effects.
Any suggestions and critiques are very welcome.
The questions i'm currently trying to figure out is:
* Is 12 (16 if you count Compulsive Research) discard effects to few? Merfolk Looter could be used to ramp up the count.
* Should Snapback in the deck?
* Should the deck have some sort of counterspells? Rune Snag, Delay or Remand? Cancel are too expensive in this deck imo.
* Should Compulsive Research be replaced with something else - maybe Rift Bolt?
* Should the deck splash green for Tarmogoyf?
* Should the deck contain more mana-accelerants? If yes should the landcount be lowered?
Uhh, i love braids.
She have won me many tournaments with the old black splash red braids deck.
Phyrexian Ragers, Ravenous Rats, FTK and Braids are such a lovely bunch.
I for sure want to try a green/black deck based on a braids+sprout swarm lock.
I don't understand why people are upset about this little thing..
I personally love slivers (to some extend), but this little thing will never see play in any serious tournament deck. Mind my words - SERIOUS.
As several other people have pointed out. At the point the opponent have 10 poision-counters they are probarly dead already.
I understand it can cheat the eye. But when everything comes to an end to put it plain and simple, this sliver sux ass.
Crusade, i agree with alot of your points..
The idea is to use these new abilities/mechanics to the fullest instead of just saying: "THIS IS ****ING LAME AND IMBA"
I had so many interesting decissions in TSP-drafts because of suspend..
I somehow would like to say that my first review on flanking might have been a little off..
I certianly undervalued flanking so far, and have come to love the ability in agressive decks, and hate it when i'm on the reciving end..
But i don't find it too good..
Generally i just feel that white is underdraftet very often which leads to that conclusion..
If you have flanking, you often have a stong deck, because of the fact you are one of two players at the table drafting white..
First suspend. Yeah, a random good suspend start will wrech the game. But the key about suspend lies in timing your removal, and playing with the knowledge of the suspended cards in mind. A good player uses all knowledge they get served to them.
I don't argue that a turn 1, turn 2 suspend start is powerful, but so was a turn 2 signet, turn 3 CC4 creature in RGD.
You can always find a situation that's powerful, and suspend is a powerful ability, but can also be used by the opponent to play around.
Split second. There aren't many split second cards first of all, and they are uncommon/rare, so they dont show up that often. And good players can once again play around these cards (sometimes).
I have personally multiple times pumped my granite gargoyle version #2 in response to the echo, to ensure that the opponent didn't sudden shock it. This is ofcourse only smart to do when you know that your opponent runs a sudden shock, and that he have 2 mana open for it.
Flanking. Is only a good ability if you forget that the creature you want to block actually have flanking...
Shadow. There aren't many shadow creatures. And 6.
Theres various ways to build a deck from this pool..
Blue is probarly the best of the colors because of the good creature-pool..
But on the other hand red have nice removal, and a bomb in sulfurous blast..
White is good as well, as others before me have noticed..
I would definatly go 3 colors with this deck:
Build 1:
Main green, blue as second color, splash red for removal (a 3 land splash so you can include sulfurous)
Probarly 7 forest, 7 island, 3 mountain (dont forget that arena aren't a mana-source)
Build 2:
Main green, blue and white as second/third colors..
Probarly 7 forest, 5 island, 5 plains or 7,6,4
Heya
Thanks for your help..
In the end i took out the fury and vampire sliver, and took the deck to a 5-0 finish..
Edit: The cut of vampire-sliver was based on the mana-base..
With this cut i could run a 8 mountain, 7 forest, 2 swamp mana-base with a lot more consistency than a 7-7-3 or 8-6-3 base..
Now with one less sliver, i felt that the right thing to do was to cut the fury sliver as well..
In the deck above i still need to remove 2 cards. What should those cards be?
Or do you think another biuld would be better?
I personally think this cardpool is really good, but also a challenge to build a deck from.

Here's the current list i'm trying:
4 Fiery Temper
4 Reckless Wurm
4 Squee, Goblin Nabob
4 Compulsive Research
4 Think Twice
4 Izzit Signet
4 Razormane Masticore
4 Looter il-Kor
4 Vexing Sphinx
24 Lands
Sideboard:
2-4 Jaya Ballard, Task Mage

Btw i won the league..
54 boosters richer, and a little happier

Here is a cardpool i got in a TSP Online Release League.
Theres basicly only good cards in red, green and black.
The interesting cards are the following:
I boiled that down to the following by minimizing black.
(black will be easier to splash than green because of the mana fixers in green)
In the deck above i still need to remove 2 cards. What should those cards be?
