Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast and Daretti, Scrap Savant would be pretty insane as well so blue wouldnt have the monopoly.

    Yeah, and Freylise for green.

    New question:

Is Tezzeret 1 & 2 and dack too powerful for an artifact based cube?

As context I don't include fast mana, and I aim to make it feel like a powerful version of mirrodin drafting with various different archetypes. Control & mill strategies. Sac and recursion decks. Infect and proliferate. And more.

I'm just afraid they will be so good that they're almost instant win cards.

Creating a token with a CMC is really, really inelegant. I get trying to make it work with the first ability, but that isn't going to happen. Card is cool anyway, arguably very pushed since it just creates 3/3 tokens off the bat for no loyalty loss.

Yeah it would bend some rules to make CMC-tokens work. And arguably it would be a bit confusing to some ppl.

But look at Pack Rat - it bends that rule already (as it creates token copies).

    Tezzzeret, Golem Artificer 2UB
    Planeswalker - Tezzeret
+1: Sacrifice up to one artifact. Target opponent lose life, and you gain life equal to the CMC of the sacrificed artifact.
0: Create an X/X artifact golem creature, with a converted mana cost of X, where X is Tezzeret's current loyalty.
-6: Gain control of all artifacts.

Great set review once again. I'm still a bit more sold on the Skyship. But my cube is a bit slower than yours, so tat miht make it better.

    Lightning Bolt
    BoP
    Counterspell

Semms like the obvious picks. Especially because they're the only good cards of their colors. All of those three are defendable imo, and it would be up to my mood what I would pick.

    Hi,

With Kaladesh and my Old School Cube project done, I needed a new project to start up. That led me to searching through my collection, ripping apart my original MRD block collection and a couple of EDH decks, and spending some hours in the think tank during the weekend.

I was thinking of the following main themes for each color (apart from the colored artifact creatures, artifact removal and the like).
    • White: Equipment
    • Blue: Affinity
    • Black: Infect
    • Red: Sac
    • Green: Infect

The cube is going to be 360 cards. My current plan is 40 of each color (including the aforementioned artifacts that only works in a certain color), 120 artifacts spread over Creatures, Equipment and other, 20 multicolored cards and 20 lands (no mana-fixing lands of any kind, only artifact and utility lands).

Is this the correct distribution? And could the colors have other themes that makes sense?

How many people here are actually entering the competition? So far the ones that I know have entered / are entering are Cythare, Usman, and myself. I've been wondering how many contestants there are going to be all together too.

I have entered with my Tribal Cube (adjusted in size).

17 lands in your deck (40%)
Average deck CMC = 3 (arbitrary, but probably good baseline)
    Average Damage = .4*3*3 = 3.6

If you use this method it should be:
    0.6*3*3 = 5.4

Further more I would argue that most decks that include this would have a slightly higher average CMC.
