A "alternative" take on token decks; instead of using generic Wurm or Elf tokens, use cards like Spitting Image to make token versions of powerful creatures. These tokens can then be populated or doubled via abilities such as Rhys, the Redeemed or Second Harvest.
The deck requires a relatively low investment to get going: rather than play a powerful creature yourself you can simply start copying an opponents plays. The deck looks very durdly and therefor is generally ignored in the early game but is surprisingly consistent. By T6 the deck has stabilized and can start to control the table by recurring cards with eternal witness. Due to the exponential nature of the deck, it can be quite spectacular (creating 40+ gilded lotus etc). A great loop is to cast Saheeli's artistry, copy an Eternal Witness and a decent artifact then return the spell to your hand with the trigger. The commander is largely irrelevent except for the colours. I chose Ragnar as he is very non-threatening
I have been playtesting this deck for a while on MTGO, it performs very well for a casual tier deck. I am looking to take the deck in a new direction by adding red thanks to the new commanders. Feel free to add me on MTGO if you want a demo of the deck.
* I can't work out how to add a commander... if someone could enlighten me that would be very helpful (sorry I'm such a noob)
I am an incurable Jonny, Combo Player.
I love to brew silly decks, mostly EDH but will dip my toe into modern or standard if the current meta has room for a creative deck.
I mostly play on MTGO, feel free to add me (Username: King_of_diamonds)if you feel like a game.
I've been playing off and on since original Mirrodin
I am located in New Zealand so it would be great to find some like-minded players in my time-zone
I've been playing a budget build of this deck and its great fun.
Worst matchup is tron, all you can do is sideboard in your best hate and pray...
That having been said, a little blood moon goes a long way - shame its so damn expensive.
What are peoples thoughts on a more aggressive list with extra pingers such as Blasting Station or Impact tremors?
