I was wondering when this would see a reprint. A little surprised every single guild with blue in it didn't come with a XUU counterspell, or it could just be me wanting Voidslime to finally get a reprint.
Disallow was printed not so long time ago.
I know, gold spells look cooler.
I love absorb in standard. I saw this card likr a year ago and thought "why cant we have this in standard?". Well, here we go!
That being said, Red is not really "pray for no wipe". You attack early, and if he has the board wipe, you finish him with burn spells. And experimental frenzy, if resolves, will win by itself. Beating red aggro with control is almost impossible (in BO3 anyway, you can get bad draws)
Looks disappointing enough to be real. Cranial Extraction abilities just seem to never really evolve beyond the core use (and the card draw for the opp is just bad).
Did Lost Legacy even see play in Standard? Do they need an effect like this always in standard?
What more do you want from these cards? I don't get what you mean.
Card draw for opponent is a good thing - it's supposed to strip his deck from a card, not to get random win because he had 2 of the card in his hand. Old design was terrible.
They do see play. Dispossess saw heavy play back when Marvel dominated standard. Lost Legacy was used when someone wanted better matchup vs Approach of the Second Sun or Saheeli combo.
For last few years, when standard was terrible, it was because there was no hate cards vs oppresive strategies. Yes, there should be a card like this in standard, it keeps things fair just in case something slips through R&D.
You can't cast sorcery spells instant speed with it. It says "you can cast it this turn". Doesn't say "cast it now", so you still need to respect timing restrictions (so, sorcery only in main phase when stack is empty) when casting it later that turn.
The reason why Torrential Gearhulk was able to cast Memory instant speed, was because Gearhulk says "you may cast it", meaning "you can cast it now and only now". This overrides timing restrictions, because if text on card conflicts game rules, card wins. So it doesn't matter that "now" is not your main phase and/or stack isn't empty, because Gearhulk's ability instructs you to cast it anyway.
Ixalan was.
The problem is, if they do one set of lower power level, y'all will come back here and complain how they don't make good cards anymore lmao
Least exciting? We have shocklands and checklands in standard right now, what could they reprint, orignal duals?
No, they couldnt do fetches.
These were really cool and good in standard. Complaining about these is kinda ridiculous.

Have you read his +1 or what? 5 turns? if you flood out super badly, I guess...

Ridiculous. Not completely terrible card, but compared to some green cards in this set, it looks so underpowered.

Everyone will play Golgari anyway, so doesn't matter
For Limited it makes sense.
"Doesn't drive you to buy packs" guess what, you shouldn't buy packs just to crack them anywya.
