Judge is an idiot who called that. The only thing that glitches the combo is multiple Progentitus. It creates an infinite loop, so the game is a draw.

It's not a rumor. It's not on next weeks ship list......if it doesn't appear on the list, it won't show up, comics are pretty consistent like that.

My local comic shop said its been delayed two weeks....so the 11th is the date we will probably see it.

This is normal for her. I have had friends wait over a year to get stuff done and seem numerous posts on other forums about how long she can take. One post had her taking over a year to do a set of altered forces. First it was 90 days, then another 90.....then promises of 30 more multiple times. She is terrible at returning emails also. I emailed about a comission years back, it took 3 emails to get a response......then 3 more to get a response to my questions, I finally just gave up.

Busy or not, you don't take people's money and make promises, then don't fullfill them. If you can't make deadlines, don't lie and give another.

And really, I don't buy that she is simply TOO busy. When I see people with posts like this, but then see her at a card show doing alters and taking even MORE commissions, just makes me shake my head..............maybe stop taking MORE work and finish what you have been paid for.

I don't quite buy this at all...

The ancestral didn't garner near that much, and I know two of the moxes were offered to me for less than $2000....and I declined.

While cool, there are a LOT cooler original arts out there, that sell for FAR less....and they actually belong to the card they go to.

If true, the winner was an idiot for not selling it.......bigger than the two idiots offering 10k and 15k.

I was standing next to the guy who won the Time Walk as he was talking to Chris. He said he was almost immediately offered $10k for the card, for which he declined. There was another gentlemen standing next to us who promptly offered him $15k cash on the spot to which he again promptly declined. The art work is SO good

Honestly though, explain how you don't include stargate? Ratings, had higher than many on the list......critics, was often well recieved....popularity, 10 seasons, 2 spinoffs and 2 additional movies.....

Just seems strange to have a list declaring the favorite.....when you leave out the one that ran longer than anything on that list continuesly (yes, I know Dr. who has ran 20 years..........but never for 10 straight)....

Sorry, just seems like a dumb poll.

This is such a load of crap........rogue decks do well all the time in legacy, especially on the local weekly tournament level.....

Even on the big tourney scene, look no further than this past weekend with Felix Lapan's deck........Toolbox junk.

Now, if you want to say CHEAP decks don't do well...........well, they have a tougher time.....there is nothing rogue about cheap though. Yer just not running optimal cards.

Though, we did have a guy win our local tourney two weeks in a row a few months back........week one, zombies. Nobody could deal with it......not a single card in the deck over $10.....next week, Wizards.............no card over $10..........nobody could deal with it.....then the final week, MonoBlack Control. Crap, I don't think there was a card over $5.........

Modern will be no different............$50 Dark Confidants, plus a $600 set of shocklands (keep in mind a set of duals was about $600 when legacy started)........$100 jaces again, $100 goyfs....etc etc....

I play legacy every week..........online mutliple times. People whine about cards like Moat, Tabernacle, Candlelabra.....go look at the last 5 scg open tourneys, lmk how many of those cards ya see in the top 16.....geez, even online where they are a few bucks I can count on one hand how many times I've had them played against me in the last 8 months of playing legacy online.

Modern may be fun, but it surely isn't gonna be cheap...........and surely won't promote rogue or cheap decks either.

    Quote from Sanduleak

Players want an eternal format they can afford (again I'm not talking in monetary terms) and where they can show up with a rogue deck in a local tourney and have some options to top, that doesn´t happen in Legacy, where there are about 6 to 8 players that have the cards they need to assemble the competitive decks of the format and just destroy anyone that shows up with a rogue deck. People get tired of losing time and again and just leave the format.

Let me spell out slowly......the original artwork of the NEW art was used as the prize. Simply put, when you won, you actually got the artwork of the alternate picture. It's not a print of it.

They are already framed, at least the ones I saw, including the one in the pic of the pearl earlier in the thread. It basically the original art, surrounded by a print of an oversize magic card.....not sure where people think the whole thing is a print, its not....you get the original art, just in a unique framing.

I got offered a few of these from past winners a couple years back, price was too high.....but the pics I was sent, it was clearly as I described above. I know one of them sold after I turned it down, for over $1000........I think it was the ruby is memory is correct.

I think its pretty cool they are doing it for legacy.

I actually have not read all of the DMZ....I did the first 2 TPB and just have not had time to pick up the rest(money an issue too).

Fables has never stopped, there was a month skipped a few months back because of some production timing with the sub series Jack of Fables. Jack of Fables just ended with issue 50. The other spinoff is Cinderella, which a 6 issue mini series. They are in the 2nd series, with issue 5 just coming out a couple of weeks ago.

I read incorruptable and irredeemable issues 1-2....they were decent, but just with all my other stuff I could not afford to get into them. I'll pick them up some day and read em all. So many comics now a days you can just wait for the big shows and pick up the issues for .50-1.00 each brand new and way cheaper than a TPB.

    Crossed is great too.

Preacher is good, I have only read the first TPB, but I have them all.

Sandman is another good comic to read, though I have not read them, but how can a million people be wrong.

I also heard Hellblazer is pretty amazing.

I tried reading planetary, which was too weird........same with Transmetropolitian.....100 bullets was bleh, house of mystery was OK...

Make sure to hit up the local comic con when it happens......you will love it.

An EXCELLENT list, I've read most of them. But Fables and DMZ aren't finished. DMZ was on a hiatus (stopping mid arc, they have another one planned now that that one is finished), and Fables is starting back up again (if only for a couple issues).
If you enjoy those, give Irredeemable and Incorruptible a shot.

I think sometimes you guys try a little too hard to be "correct" in stuff. A blue creature with first strike has happened a few times in magic.....its not unheard of. Is it a very blue ability, not at all.....but it can be. The flash suggestion is interesting though and makes sense to what I was after....I probably will change it to it.

Ozma on the other hand is a gold card.........with W and G in her casting cost, with both abilities being on color. I can show you about 500 gold cards that are similar in having one colors pie ability, while the other color is a big no no...not to mention, is bounce really a white or green ability?

Point being.....color pie means little to me. Set color balance also means little.......correct wording, correct costs, non-rule problems like beauty, etc is what I am after......this is supposed to be fun. WOTC is never gonna print these........no one is every gonna really play with them....

Just curious, what did you put in the purple guys thread....I mean geez, that goes against everything magic period....

Starting to think I just posted on the wrong forums....

I am gonna guess you didn't read either of the links I posted.......nor have you read the comics.

In no way did I just make up cards and give them storybook names. Each card is designed as best as I could to their traits in the comics. Keep in mind, these storybook characters are not how 99.999% of the world views them......

Read the links, understand the characters better...........Cinderella is not who you think she is, Shoe store owner by day, Jason Bourne by night...

Fables is a great story, a totally twisted way to look at fairy tale characters in a whole nother way.

    Later EddieO

    Quote from JCricket
It seems to me that most of the cards have little or no connection to the character for which they are named. If you just want to make up a bunch of cards and then randomly name them after storybook characters, that's fine I guess...but it would be better if the flavor and mechanics matched one another more closely.

Most of the power levels of the cards are fine. A few are really strong, but Gudrun and Fabletown are the only two that strike me as a little too much. I also dislike Beauty because I think it would be really annoying to play against, although it might be fine without shroud.

I am not overly concerned about color pie stuff.....while its fun to try to keep the wheel stuff inline, I am more concerned with keeping the characters colored as their traits match the book, along with abilities they have in the story. Correct wording and rule problems like beauties are what I am after, along with suggestions on cost, toughness, etc......and some card suggestions too.

Cinderella is a good example........can't make her white really, nor black...green doesn't fit either..........so it leaves blue or red. In the comics, Cindy is Fabletowns 007. She is a super agent.....besides, there have been a few Blue first strikers over the years....

King Cole is the mayor, white kinda fits the bill.......and he is the master of settling disputes. Maybe I could make him UW.

    Crispin WR sounds good.

    Can probably change miss muffet.

Rapunzel, there may always be a better card.......in the story she has a bit part though.......her main problem, they have to hide her from the mundies because her hair grows so fast.......has to be cut 4 times a day. I thought cutting the deck was a fun tribute to her.

Snow white is a weird part of the story.......she is the main admin to fabletown, usually the one who steps in and stops fights. And then on the flip side, she marries Bigby (otherwise known as the Big Bad Wolf)....she has seven kids at once......they are called the cubs or wolf cubs. Can't really make snow white another color, but wolves are clearly green, though I can make em green/white.

Boy Blue is still a work in progress......

Kay is a weird dude in the story, I had trouble with his design to fit what his character does.

I will mess with mana costs more, I just didn't want stuff too cheap.

    Quote from viridiancircle
Beauty - If Beauty somehow becomes non-Human this creates a rules freeze. Avoid making these kind of mechanics as static. Maybe try: "1: Non-Human creatures lose all abilities and become 1/1 until end of turn."

Crispin - White granting haste? Sure, it has a whitish tinge, but still feels weird. Maybe RW.

    Doctor Swineheart - Sure.

Little Miss Muffet - This ability is U.

Mrs. Sprat - Sure, though too many preventers spoils the set.

Old King Cole - This is a super-Vex in the wrong colour. Only U should get unconditional countering like this.

Rapunzel - Soldier of Fortune is better and in the right colour.

Snow White - Three unrelated abilities that don't even work together? Your pumped up creatures can't damage the attacking creature if it's not in combat (ignoring first strike), and the token is green.

Boy Blue - Sure, though at this stage you just end up with a 2/4 for 5.

Cinderella - First strike's not blue, and the ETB effect is black in Painful Memories.

    Kay - Awfully weak.

I'm gonna stop here. Far too many overcosted 0/1s and off-colour abilities. Choose the colour of cards, then make the abilities fit into what those colours can do. And don't be afraid to cost Legendary creatures a bit more aggressively (i.e. P/T closer to converted mana cost).

I recently became hooked on comics and Fables is my favorite. I've always wanted to make a magic set, but I felt I had no back story to create cards and card names....Fables has given me that.....now onto the cards.

So far, this is the main characters from the first big section of the comics. I plan to do a 2nd and 3rd set based on further story lines and the sub comics/books like Jack of Fables.

Here is a link to the characters and such....

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_characters_in_Fables

And a link to the comic info itself

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fables_%28comic%29

At this point, cards are very rough.........especially some wordings (I am not a rules lawyer)....some might be overpowered or undercosted, but I am trying to fit their abilities from the books if possible onto the cards.

So feel free to suggest new cards if you are familar with the comics, abilities and such for characters, or just tweaks to existing cards or wording corrections.
