I went there once, the place in Antioch to pick up some sleeves and the atmosphere was welcoming. There was a draft going on but I didn't stick around.

The withering wind supplies our mind
Drinking wine to alleviate tired eyes
We can't look back, ourselves we tried
We need a command to act upon
That not of weakness, yet of strength
Hard to see this, it almost stinks
Don't think you can't because you can
Will you treat the cause and understand?
Asked to forget a conscious flaw
We see the warnings, we grasp it well
I got a wall need be torn down
You like to say you know this too
A word can write, and can confuse
Your axe it cuts right to the muse
That once was true, yet no longer more
He's the one that you adore
From hence he came, is it your brain?
I have no mass, to let you have

So you listen to punk rock, yet you're not allowed to watch Harry Potter because someone might pull the punk rock card on you? Deny you punk rock points? Do what you want! Would you really want people to like you because you lied to them? Are you afraid that they will disown you if you show your true colors? Are shallow people the ones you want to be around? I am happy with the few people that enjoy my honest company. A couple of years ago, I had to reevaluate my life and rid myself of the presence of people that would not agree with the real me. I was being fake because I wanted friends. These people were not my friends. I can look back now on that realm of nothingness, and see my liberation as a fresh drink of water in the desert. Waiting in front of that door was scary to me. I am glad I opened it. I am beginning to step beyond that door.

What are some mid game cards I could add to untap my Leechridden Swamps after using them to deal damage, so that I can use them right away once more? What are some other black unbasic lands that would add to the synergy in this deck? What would be a better investment to replace both Douse in Glooms?

It started with Nightmare, then over time it turned to this...
    22 Swamp
    4 Leechridden Swamp
    4 Dark Ritual
    4 Tendrils of Corruption
    4 Nightmare
    4 Vampire Nighthawk
    3 Wicked Akuba
    3 Bile Urchin
    3 Lilianna's Shade
    2 Disembowel
    2 Douse in Gloom
    2 Daggerdrone Imp
    1 Duskmantle Prowler
    1 Necropolis Regent

I'm thinking about ditching Duskmantle Prowler for a second Necropolis Regent. And maybe getting rid of the Nightmares and Disembowels. What is the wisest way to invest $40 into this deck? I want this deck to be fast, easy to play, and effective.

Awesome. Thank you. Waterfront Comics in Suisun used to have casual EDH, not sure if they still do.

I haven't heard of that place, but I'll keep it in mind. I've been to Olde World Games in Vacaville a few times though.

I'm not completely new to Magic. I started with a Portal starter pack, and it sat for yeeeears. Around six years ago, I opened it up, and was at a garage sale not long after where I purchased 7,000 cards. I started reading stuff online and building my own decks, playing with friends. That didn't last, I sold all but one deck, and am glad I saved it because I want to play again. I was never competitive, always casual. And cheap. This time around, I'm thinking about studying deck lists and getting to know them comfortably.

Legacy looks doable. Just looked it up. Seems a bit more fair than Vintage. Now I wish I didn't sell all my cards. Maybe it's best I did though, as the majority were from a garage sale.

I'm having trouble finding players in the area, but wal-mart seems to have grown their MTG stock over the last few years.

My name is Doug and I live in Vallejo, and can host small casual groups. Looking to play Vintage until I get enough standard cards together. Not really into EDH.

I haven't played since Zendikar. Even then I wasn't all that good because I had no friends that wanted to buy/build their own decks, so I knew all their decks. I got destroyed anytime I went to Eudemonia. It didn't occur to me until later that I would benefit from religiously studying every card, as opposed to just the ones I had. I just enjoyed the artwork and playing with my friends. I have one Vintage deck at the moment, and I'm looking into buying more cards soon. I have a buddy coming over Monday to school me so maybe he'll loan me a deck or two. I'm 28.
