Stone blade was recently unbanned. It was super powerful in a past meta, and everyone thinks it may be the broken thing we were missing. I think it will come back down to earth and that WOTC actually is correct, that Stoneforge Mage isn't quite as powerful these days. Just like when they unbanned Jace. Jace is great, but certainly not a must include or a deck maker. I still think our core resides around the values but I'm not sure what the right 75 is. Maybe Throne has those couple cards.
Without CoCo isnt it just Abzan? Then add Goyf and Lily etc? In any event in belongs in Deck Creation or Abzan forums not here. This is specifically for company.
Mirror Entity is great against whir prison. You can send mana dorks under Ensnaring Bridge then pump at damage. I think Entity was discussed just a few posts back what other shenanigans it offers. Well worth it. And not new tech, It has been in and out of the 75 prior to Devoted, back when we were Abzan Company.
I found last tourney that Hidden Stockpile was a real distraction to opponent. Servos were frequently on board, and/or opponent was countering or disenchanting Stockpile. I'd rather them hit that then lay an Intangible Virtue or Bitterblossom.

My decks I have are Dredge, Abzan Devoted Company, Boros Burn, BW Tokens, UR Control, Grixis Death Shadow. Dredge was my daughter's deck but she no longer plays. The others I used to rotate through. Have also built in past Stompy, Soul Sisters, Blue Moon, Martyr Proc, Kiki Evolution, UR Delver, Jeskai Tempo, etc.. Which should I focus on? I did one Tuesday modern with BW Tokens and got harmed. Amulet Titan, Eggs, ...
Why not run Dredge? It's a damn good deck, especially in this meta.
I never actually played it, just watched my daughter (and others) play it against me. But why not indeed? Learning other decks I find also helps you play against them.

I'm just getting back into magic after a year and half of very busy. This was one of my decks, and BW Tokens didnt do so hot my first Tuesday modern last week. 1-3. Mind you, I had Amulet Titan and Eggs first two matches. Also have a UR Control Deck (can go Jeskai, Blue Moon etc with it), GDS, and Burn. I imagine the latter 2 are the safer to play this meta, but I'd like to work the other decks as metas always change. Decklists are welcome.

Yup I used those in standard deck a while back too. Was fun. Because Affinity isn't everywhere right now, and disenchantment is usually 1-2 in the SB, could work well in current meta.
Going to my first modern night here in Anchorage this week. First gaming session since moving from Nebraska. It's been a couple of months, and I last played Grixis Death's Shadow, before that Abzan Company (still have both sleeved), But figured I'd get into control again since it's Tier 1 and probably good for an unknown meta. Here's the decklist I'll take, pretty stock I think. Throwing a Elspeth Knight-Errant in MB to speed things up a bit. (And I don't have the second Jace AOT yet. It's in the mail).
I think what you board in and board out is good. I would bring in 1 EE as some of them playing chalice and our discard are very good against it unless they have topdeck it. I would play surgical extraction when discard a titan and extract them are enough to win the game.
I agree,I actually just before this tournament switched off of surgical in favor of temur battle-rage. Thus far (from a very small sample size) I've liked battle-rage much much more. It lets you steal games from otherwise difficult match-ups, especially against decks playing lingering souls. I additionally have found surgical as kind of underwhelming, it is of course very good here.
I actually take off temur battle rage from my 75 long time ago. Its excellent when your threat stick in battlefield. Been stuck in my hand before without having chance to cast it. Against tokens, I been using last hope instead and so far she is doing extremely good job. But I guess it personal choices after all.
I find if you want battle rage, it's to overwhelm in game 1. They bring in their removal fir game 2 and 3 so TBR often becomes a 2 for 1. However, for 1 less mana, I'm finding I'm ending games earlier with Expedite. I do pull it out during boarding though often for answers. Even if your target is removed, you get the replacement card.
I don't think it's something you'd ever cast off curve because you just want to dump counters on it. If you just play it late for 2 and crack it with ~3 counters on it, why not just play Lightning Strike?
Sometimes some spice, some odd card that nobody has seen in a while puts people into careful mode. A "what's this about." I did a Mardu Martyr with a couple Nahiri and Nim Deathmantle or throwing Basilisk Collar in BW Tokens. I did quite well for a while, until people figured out "oh this is just Martyr Provl"
Future play when people undoubtedly jump on the band wagon should bring it down to earth.
It's also a way to deal with Firewalker and/or other pro red creatures, meaning you won't have to bring in a bunch of paths
I like it, although I'm not sure if Eidolon would be the card that should be cut, or if 4 is the right number
