Aug 3, 2016Daeyel posted a message on The Magic Market Index for July 29, 2016Liliana will be spiking yet again then, I think. The new Jace? Remember, I'm on record as calling her better than Veil.Posted in: Articles

Aug 2, 2016Daeyel posted a message on The Magic Market Index for July 29, 2016There is something going on with black green zombies? Certain key cards moved up in price, as you noted with puzzlement. I'm thinking subtle forces are in play expecting a breakout at Pro Tour, and are speculating.Posted in: Articles
I'm working on it, as I think the pieces are there for Zombies to beat Bant Company by going wider than Bant can cover. The various sacrifice a creature cards, Dark Salvation and Languish along with Clip Wings may yet be combined into a force that tumbles Bant Company. -

However, any effort to respond to complaints by women about their treatment at any WOTC sanctioned event are undermined by..... WOTC.
I give you:
Liliana, Defiant Necromancer
I could go on, but I don't think it necessary. Nor will I go into the blatant appeal to the (immature) male fantasy of the good girl (Liliana, Heretical Healer) gone bad/with a dark side (Liliana, Defiant Necromancer) other than to remind you it is real, and that WOTC is deliberately and consciously pandering to it for monetary purposes.
Consider that for a minute. On the one hand, WOTC makes sexist products deliberately designed to entice, attract and encourage purchase by immature leering males.
Then, when someone has the audacity to act like an immature leering male, suddenly, according to that same WOTC, they are the bad guy and the Judge or owner should then intervene?
Women have a legitimate complaint, and as a WASP heterosexual male, I want that to change, and will do what I can to help it change. That said, until overtly sexist art like Liliana, Defiant Necromancer goes away, I'm pretty much going to insist that WOTC has set the sexism standard here, not 'That Guy'.
Change that, and we can make headway. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
I don't see much else that you cannot handle from a sideboard or Crypt Incursion/Ensnaring Bridge.
Yes, this is going to Target and Walmart, but it is still quite a bit more limited than IMA was.
I noted he only ran 1 Crypt Incursion. He got results with his list, but in a 5 color Humans meta, I'd have run 3. It is not a dead card too often, and when it is, you board it out.
I've given up speculating on Modern.
He was also on camera at the end of the match in round 9, that one starts at about 45 minutes into the round.
I don't like his deck, but I LOVE his results! Go Dario!
That everyone says Affinity and Lantern are now DOA is troubling, because a lot of mill is artifact based with Mesmeric Orb and Ensnaring Bridge. It really has to do with what the answer is. If it is Stony Silence, we're going to laugh. KCommand, Sage, Claim, we're in trouble.
This will continue as people lose excitement over Jace! and start thinking how they will deal/build with him.
When there is an unban, my first thought goes to surrounding cards that will spike as an answer or a supplement. You usually have ~ a 24 hour window.
Zenfetches in A25.
The fetches are ok, you may need them to turn on Push. 3 Ruins and 3 Quarters? That's an awful lot! Run 4 max. No wonder you are afraid of Blood Moon. Ipnu is meh. I'd rather have basics. 2 Watery Grave is fine.
Not a fan of Rebuke. I can see the use for it, though. I do not like surrendering G1 to sideboard, so I wont trash it. I feel you need 3 Crypt Incursion with 5c Humans out there. they come down fast, and they keep coming. By the time T3 comes, you need it, and bad! Add 1 more Mesmeric Orb, that gets around their Leylines etc.
With Affinity and Lantern Control out there, Welding Jar is more and more important.
Some secret tech is Bitter Ordeal. Crack a fetch, pop off a Fatal Push, and suddenly Bitter Ordeal became Sadistic Sacrament. This is great against Storm or Living End, even Tron. Field of Ruin them, and that's three targets you get to exile.
Last thing - add an Urborg. The ability to tap fetches for mana can be vital. Lets you save them for Push.
