I've seen a few post about this but I am still not clear about what happens if a Swans of Bryn Argoll blocks a creature with wither. The wither ability states that (It deals damage to creatures in the form of -1/-1 counters.) So since the creature is dealing damage in the form of -1/-1 counters this can be prevented by the swans?

I'm not a big fan of Countryside Crusher although I do not blame people who are, it's just not for me unless I'm running LD. I prefer Taurean Mauler since it forces opponents to second guess each spell he or she plays. Anyways here is my version of this deck which has not yet been tested so I will repost later with the results of this deck.

If anyone thinks that this is not going to work tell me why. Also I was wondering if Everlasting Torment is really important enough to try and fit in this deck (I don't see many life gain ran in type 2 and the wither part of it doesn't seem like it helps much.)

Once again I have not notice a game like this, but if one exist I wasn't trying to rip it off.

Some people may argue that having a mono colored deck limits your choices of spells and therefore makes for an inferior deck. However White Wienie, Red deck wins, Blue control etc. have proven this argument to be wrong. In this game try to create a spell that would fit perfectly into a mono colored deck, but wouldn't be as good in a multicolored deck. Using the pattern :symw::symu::symb::symr::symg:. (First person creates a white spell or land that produces white, the next person creates a blue spell or a land that creates blue, and so on.) Feel free to critique the previous spells.First spell:

    Mourning Sky Angel :1mana::symw::symw::symw:
    Legendary
    Flying

:symtap:, Reveal your hand: If all your spells in your hand are white, target opponent chooses one of those spells. You may play that spell without paying it's mana cost.

"If Magic had been made as a "Let's see who can win fastest..."

I hate to break it to you, but this is what Magic is. It is a game of who can get there combo to go off the fastest. This is why when you go to a legacy tournament every one runs either Charbelcher deck or Iggy Pop deck or whatever combo is the flavor of the month. If you can't understand what people are saying about the mana screw/flood thing then don't comment on it. It is obvious that this cannot be "Fixed" as you so callously stated. How can you fix being mana screwed one game and then being mana flooded the next?

    Darkness 2/B

    Enchantment-

You may pay black mana instead of any mono colored cost on all Monocolor Hybrids.

(For example if a spell cost :sym2u::sym2u: you may pay 4 of any color, :symu::symu:, :symu::symb: or :symb::symb:.)

I hate when people coach at FNM. Playing last night, top 4, this guy next to me says to him, "That was dumb. He's (Me) playing merfolk, so i bet he has a hand full of counter-magic." I had one counter i didn't want to waste, so i let it resolve and the jerk says, "Oh, guess not. Looks like you (My opponent) can play whatever the hell you want."

I hate the apparent randomness of the game sometimes. Like seriously, i run 22 lands, and one game i draw three, even with cantrips and Ancestral Visions card draw. Next game, i keep a 2 land hand, and procide to draw 9 lands in a row, with a ponder stuck in the middle...WTF??? And i shuffle well. Pile, riffle, pile, riffle, overhand squish, riffle...

This is a serious violation of the rules. You could have called a judge over and had the guy removed.

I wonder if the OP was looking more for stories about bad sports and mannered people, or rather game mechanics and problems specifically deriving from those.

Game mechanics and problems specifically deriving from those. Or anything that is part of the rules and or system that Magic follows.

What I don't like about magic is the ability to get manascrewed/flooded! I believe I have come up with a solution that could happen in the future. Have 2 libraries! One of land cards and one of spell cards. When you draw you can choose which library you draw from maybe the first seven cards you could draw 3 and 4 or 2 and 5 etc! It takes away some of the luck and adds some strategy do you run just 10 lands? 16 lands? Do you add some jank to your spell library just to get the total count up to 60? Could make milling a really strategy, I mill your land away! What do other's think?

You are the first person who said this online. In real life this is the number one complaint I get about Magic. (well maybe number two) The idea I am putting together for a game I am creating fixes this problem. No more mana flooding, no more being mana screwed. If anyone is interested the number one complaint I seem to be getting is that "Type two is too good"

I'm doing some research and one of the questions I've been asking people is "Is there anything about Magic the Gathering that you do not like?" Please answer even if you think you're answer might be out of line with what other players may think. You never know, you might find that several people agree with you.

    Thanks.

    Wren's Prototype 0 mana

    Artifact creature.

As you play Wren's prototype name a creature other than Wren's Prototype. Whenever a creature of the chosen name comes into play Wren's Prototype power and toughness becomes that of the chosen creature and Wren's Prototype gains all abilities of that creature.

I just wanted to point out that Mix is very useful against tutors and harbingers, and that match is not comparable to Twincast since it can only target sorceries (which makes it very limited)

If this game was already created by someone else, I was in no way trying to rip it off.

In this game, create a split card and try and use two card names that form a linguistic pair like all names that split cards have used in the past. The next person rates the card before it in the following categories.
    1. Good use of a linguistic pair.
    2. Good use of color combination for the chosen words (e.g. Fire and Ice makes perfect sense being red and blue)
    3. Rate the actual spells. Rate each spell separately.
    4. Overall card rating.

Use the rating scale of 1-10 for each of these categories.

Ok, here is the first entry to get us going. Let's have fun with this.
