im not sure if running the thief is worth it even against mga. they have lignify and utopia vow which cancel the thiefs effect and you still die.
or am i wrong?
Lignify would negate Fortune Thief, which seems to give MGA exactly two answers to it, the other being Serrated Arrows. Utopia Vow would have absolutely no effect on Fortune Thief, since it only prevents attacking or blocking (not that you'd do that with him anyways) and now allows him to tap for mana - which actually helps RDW.
why are you guys posting about decks that are not going to be legel in a couple of weeks? you have things like tarfire to play now, there aint no more seal of fire
The only card in my deck that won't be legal on October 20th is Seal of Fire. And guess what?
I consider Clinton to be the worst President of the 20th century. While Bush is far from the best, I respect him for taking a stand on a topic and sticking to his guns and not letting the media force him to back down. He's a President with balls...which is something this country needed. Unfortunately, he got mired down with religion and the Neo-Conservatives.
As for Clinton...he drastically cut our military funding, raped Social Security, had more scandals than you can list in a reasonable amount of space, and the largest list of Presidential pardons and sentence commutations than any other President (146 pardons, including several cocaine dealers/traffickers and several sex offenders, and 38 commutations). And that was just during his time in office.
Lets not forever the Whitewater land deal scandal and Rose Law Firm scandals from his time as Governer of Arkansas. And the "suicide" of Vince Foster by a gunshot to the head (with no carbon scoring on his skin, which means the gun was at least 3 feet away). In fact...all of the business partners of the Clintons from their days in Arkansas are either dead or serving Federal sentences.
And we also got the illegal campaign contributions to Bill from Chinese sources (which has happened to his wife already during her campaign...history repeats itself).
And Clinton's worst crime?
Not taking the chance to assassinate Osama bin Laden after the 1993 World Trade Center bombing after the CIA confirmed it was him and had eight perfect assassinations lined up. Clinton refused to let them "sanction" Osama bin Laden - which would have saved the lives of over 3,000 Americans on 9/11/01 and would not have given Bush a reason to go to Afghanistan or Iraq (and probably would've had Bush not win the 2004 election, since he wouldn't have been a wartime President).
Having the ten CIPT lands actually doesn't hinder me. I rarely miss a one drop, and if I lack a one drop I can drop a CIPT land without an issue and then drop a normal land on turn 2 for a two drop.
Seems a bit more solid. I'd like to see an artifact worth running in the deck that would be capable of killing itself to make the Tarmogoyfs bigger. Once Lorwyn rotates in, I'm bringing in Tarfire to replace Seal of Fire, which will double pump the Goyfs. Downside is, I lose Seal of Fire which also pumps the Goyf as an Enchantment.
So my deck will be capable of making the Goyf into a 5/6 once Lorwyn comes in (Creatures [Mogg Fanatic], Lands [Terramorphic Expanse], Sorceries [Rift Bolt], Instants [Incinerate et al], and Tribal [Tarfire]). 5/6 out of a possible 8/9 isn't too bad.
7x ghost fires sideboard must be tech. Haha.
I've never played that version of rdw.
Why not run cheap burn for aggro. Like dead//gone or shock. But dead//gone can bounce a creature. Its actually a ver versitle card.
Tarfire is much better than Shock if you're running Tarmogoyfs, since it's a Tribal Instant and thus makes the Goyf bigger.
Little changes from my last list. Took out the Keldon Megaliths and added in Treetop Villages for beat sticks so I can keep the Ghitu Encampments in reserve for surprise anti-Troll Ascetic blockers.
Still devising a good general purpose sideboard. Although 4x Pithing Needles is almost a given. Stuff like Sulfur Elemental and Cryoclasm will almost definately good in. Kavu Predators wouldn't be a bad idea either.
I've been tossing around the idea of a higher green amount and adding in some better creatures from green (instead of merely splashing for Krosan Grip.
The mana base has a total of 10 green sources and 14 red sources in it's twenty lands, which makes it easier to handle the green spells I have main decked. Tarmogoyf negates other Tarmogoyfs, and also puts the opposing Tarmogoyf in one-shot range of any of the burn spells.
Tarfire is one of the new Tribal Instants from Lorwyn, basically an exact copy of Shock - although it's Tribal and makes the Goyf a bit bigger.
With ten sources of green, I'm considering putting Troll Ascetic in instead of Call of the Herd. I'm sure having an untargetable regenerating beat stick will be slightly more useful than eight burnable Elephant tokens.
Have you considered AEther Flash in the sideboard against Aggro? The double red shouldn't be too big an issue, and it would pretty much stop goblins in it's tracks, along with a lot of other Aggro decks and creatures in general.
What is the interaction between Uba Mask and Sylvan Library if both are in play? Do I lose 8 life each time I active the Library (since the cards are being RFGed and not going into my hand), or do I get three cards a turn without losing life (since they never went to my hand)?
Has anyone considered or tried Pact of Negation in this deck over Force of Will? It seems like the majority of the time, you'd be using Force of Will to protect your combo, and the loss of a blue card could be painful. With Pact of Negation, you don't need to toss a blue card and if your combo doesn't kill them...well...you're probably gonna lose anyways.
Went 2-0 Round 1 against an odd Mono-White deck. Had no issues in Game 1, but brought in the Cryoclasms, Elementals, and Krosan Grips anyways. Sure enough, saw Story Circle in Game 2. Had a Krosan Grip in my opening hand, but no Karplusan Forest or Pendelhaven for a while.
Went 2-0 Round 2 against an odd Red/Green deck. Had no issues in either game against him, and no sideboarding.
Went 2-0 Round 3 against a Green/Black Thallid deck. Game 1 was easy. Game 2 I sided in Magus of the Moon and slowed him down for a while with that.
Went 2-0 Round 4 against Satanic Sligh. Just played offensively the entire first game and kept him on the defensive and won easily. Game 2 I brought in the Giant Solifuges against him and won with them since he couldn't burn or Terror them.

I already got four Tarfires ready to replace it.
