Oct 16, 2017In my local are like 2 guys and another one building infect. In the last SCG i saw a lot in stream and one of them in the 10th placePosted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
I would like to see a Blue tron in that spot.
Oct 13, 2017I saw this deck too and i love it. I dont like talisman but here is perfect. Is like playing with 25 lands but better for later turns.Posted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
The side is interesting as well. Im going to test this deck.
Oct 11, 2017Im going to try TKS with this following listPosted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
I change 1 Mindslaver and 1 Mana Leak for 2 Supreme will. 1 Sundering titan SB and 1 Solemn in
I think that even if it gets pushed, you are going to get opponents hand info and make their hands weaker after all. Its pretty decent against almost everything out there. I dont really like Sundering Titan in the main because of merfolk, vampires, goblins, Eldra tron, elves... too much out there and a lot of decks that are not going to care about it. I prefer to side it and bring it in against jund, etc...
After play with Wallking Ballista i dont think its that good. Played trinket mage and didnt like it either. A lot of mulligans with 24 lands, i think its pretty risky so better 25 to have islands, be able to cast counters or thirst and then slowplay until mindslaver.
Even with the TKS replacing sundering, it feels like we need 1 more creature that fix the deck and stay cool against most of the decks.
Oct 5, 2017Thanks for all the opinions about TKS.Posted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
The decision then is if i should play with; 1 solemn - 1 ballista, 1 trinket mage - ballista, 2 solemns or 2 ballistas.
Solemn is good against everyhing, you are going to hit a land for sure, probably chumpblock something and draw. On the other hand, ballista seems the best choice in my meta because of infects, burn, affinity players so i will probably go for trinket and ballista just to make easier to have tron or go for ballista if i need it.
What would you recommend me guys?
Oct 4, 2017What do you guys think about Thought-Knot Seer, Is it a good replace for solemn and running 2x like this list?Posted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
Seems balance. I just would replace river of tears by anticipate and sundering titan for gearhulk. I think sundering can shine in the side.
Oct 4, 2017Chalice is just very good to cut it. It just win games by itself against bogles, burn, affinity, DS even UW Control can be very useful at 2 in the maindeck.Posted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
Opt is just too poor. Like Pierakor said, anticipate is just better, unless you have 2 island and 2 opt´s to cast but generally, scry 3 is better than scry 1 and draw. Do you like to draw the best card of 3 or just go random if the scry was not good? Supreme will is good as well but i dont really like it, specially in my local where burn, affinity, bogles and infect are all over the place.
Oct 3, 2017It´s easy, not all the time you are going to hit an island. It can sound ridiculous but its what its, some games you are going to play with one island and you are just going to cast 1 mana spells instead of superior cards like remand, condescend, anticipate... are you going to cast Opt instead of those cards? I guess no.Posted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
I agree, we need more turn 1 mana but it does a nonbo with chalice. Chalice is a great card in this meta full of low mana spells. With expedition map and now opt, you can have like 6 cards instead of 4. Drawing an Opt at late game is not good.
I prefer supreme will or anticpiate because of chalice and because i think that the efficiency is just better. I prefer even peek as a 1 mana instant spell to know the opponents hands and replace the peek by drawing another one rather than scry1 and draw. Opt is overrated.
Oct 3, 2017I would prefer anticipate instead of opt by far. Doing a nonbo with chalice at late game could be hard. We are not oriented to the early game so i dont know why you guys like it so much. Its a decent spell, but only as a turn 1. Most of the time you would like to remand, condescend or repeal turn2.Posted in: Developing Competitive (Modern)
Sep 30, 2017I think that we should try warping wail main deck, it exiles creatures with 1 thougness, creates a creature that produces mana (disadvantage compare to mindstone because you can use it multiple times or draw) and then counter sorcery. I think that is very relevant when it comes to face titanshift maindeck.Posted in: Tier 1 (Modern)
Aug 4, 2017I will play with a different style of nahiri, just test and see what happens.Posted in: Tier 2 (Modern)
Eldrazi tron is a hard matchup as well as RG Tron. The matchup against eldrazi and taxes is more difficult as well as other decks like BW Tokens.
The thing is to be able to hit other planeswalkers with oblivion and banishing light or other permanents in the maindeck. Outpost siege is a nice card and provide a lot of advantage, as well as chandra and nahiri. In total the deck has 4 mindstone, 2 chandras, 2 outpost and d4 nahiris to provide card draw and dont have dead cards without lost planeswalker potencial or threads.
I can replace banishing and oblivion ring with 2 bloodmoon. I think its a good number since we has a lot of card draw potencial. I think that playing 4 bloodmoons sometimes is very bad, but 2 seems a good number.
Sideboard plan is focused in aggro and graveyard hate cards. I think that its the best side we can have since we dont need stony silence because of abrade. I can sideboard potencial cards against almost every meta deck. Anyway guys, i will appreciate any suggestion and improve to this deck.
Aug 1, 2017In the bridge version, torch is way better because of the damage and ultimate but in a build like mine Pyromaster is more useful. Playing lands could be very relevant. I think that Pyromaster +1 ability is poor compare to torch it has only sinergy with abrade/helix to kill a 4 toughness creature.Posted in: Tier 2 (Modern)
Looking for other cards, why would you play Pyromaster if you can play Outpost Siege? I mean, Pyromaster can die easier with burn spells, creatures, but enchantment hate is harder to see. It also cost one red mana and 3 colorless which could be relevant. Both modes are great, exiling the top card like torch, pyromaster but the second ability is great in my build as well. I can create tokens, use anger or wrath and keep dealing damage when it dies to opponent-planeswalker or creatures. I definitelely have to test Outpost.
