These Tiny Leaders decks are way too costly. It isn't even EDH anymore...it is watered down Legacy. Here you are playing against someone where the spirit of EDH you are playing with them.
As stated above, you will only see the same cards over and over as they are the more powerful 3cmc cards.
Tiny Leader was never supposed to be casual it is strictly competitive. I see the same cards over and over in competitive Commander as well. I am also a former Legacy player so I tend to build my Tiny Leader decks like I would a Legacy deck but I build my Commander decks the same way. I have also always been a 1v1 player too and never really liked large group games. To each their own everyone has a format they love.
Out here in Concord CA we have a pretty thriving Tiny Leaders group and even a sanctioned events night called Tiny Leader Thursdays, there is even another store contemplating a Sunday sanctioned event for Tiny Leaders which was originally hosting a sanctioned Commander event. I love the format and it is very competitive.
I used to play Commander regularly having gone back and forth with magic purging my collection here and there since revised I was only really able to build competitive mono colored decks do to having sold my duels and shocks and fetches etc. I was also limited to maybe two or three really competitive builds. I played a very competitive Ezuri elf deck with Gaea's Cradle etc and a very competitive Azami Lady of Scrolls deck with Force of Will, Clique, and Snapcaster.
Since I've been playing Tiny Leaders I have been able to brew up twice as many decks some with three colors. The current decks I am running now are Jaya Ballard mono red all foil burn, Kiku MBC, Jenara Turbo Fog, Ezuri elves (which I just took apart last night to convert back to Commander), Vendillion Clique mono blue control, and Thalia humans. I won the last two events with my Jenara Turbo Fog but my go to deck is usually Vendillion Clique which I have won several of our events with as well.
Our meta consists of several decks, Sygg mill, Muzzio artifact abuse, Kira merfolk, Geist of Saint Traft uw control, Alesha goblins, Pharika rock, Kiku 8 rack, Skullbriar rock, Varloz infect, Anafenza soldiers, Shu Yun tempo, and Mikaeus mono white. We also have various new players dropping in to play as well these are just some of the decks I have seen within the last month and half or so since we started our weekly event and I see at least one or two new faces a week. Several of us like myself have been longtime players since revised while others have played within the last two years so they are relatively new.
