Do you people really want aristocrats to be completely degenerate? Because that is what would happen if goblin bombardments was in standard, but I guess it just wouldn't be the magic community if you guys weren't whining all the damn time.
Lay of the Land is cool. They clearly won't be reprinting Farseek(card was really degenerate in the last year of Standard), and it will be interesting to see whether or not people are willing to run less shock lands/more basics for powerful mana acceleration. T1 acceleration that doesn't involve a frail 1/1 is fantastic.
I don't think Lay of the Land works like you think it does. It doesn't accelerate. It just puts it into your hand.
I was wondering when they were going to print this card. It's one of those really obvious designs that you only want to print when card draw is good (although it being a 3/1 is weird) This card is the ultimate trump in the esper mirror, at least until you get low enough on cards that your opponent wants you to have their sphynx's revelation to deck you faster.
I'm honestly just fed up with the amount of whiners I've seen on reddit and on here (less on here than on reddit)...
99% of my customer base is very supportive... for example our boosters are $3.50 a pack AFTER tax... even when SCG had Izzet vs Golgari at $30 we had ours at $21 after tax... we're doing everything we can to keep our gamers in cards and when Wizards sends us something nice and says "Go nuts" because it has a niche appeal and the market warrants that we CAN charge $100 or more for something that we should I *CANNOT* stand getting criticized. I'm trying to pay employees and taxes as well as make sure we have a space for people to come in, drink their outside drinks and eat their outside food and throw them in my garbage cans that I pay the bills for. I've known people who have closed their store doors because of inconsiderate customers.
Sometimes I feel it necessary to get online and rip into someone because I feel like their feeling of entitlement is wrong.
That's not what I was saying. There is a big difference between. "I think players around here will pay $250 for this so that is what I will charge" and "You guys better fork over $250 right now or I am shipping them out of the area before they even go on sale"
Does he have an online retailer agreement signed with WotC? If he does then he can... If he doesn't then he cannot.
EDIT: You got the first answer for things like "That's really ****** of him." also consider asking a question that is less-than-broad if you want an answer directed to part of the question. L2English
I figured after going over any amount of this thread that it was made very clear that LGS's can charge more than MSPR for this.
Let me answer your question in a very condescending way:
Is your LGS allowed to sell packs for LESS than msrp?
Does a bear **** in the woods?
Are you going to whine about basic economics?
Supply and demand... If we are forced to sell product for LESS than MSRP thanks to the internet and every ****ing punk ass young adult thinking they can launch an ebay store or sell online to compete with the brick and mortar then YES we are allowed to sell something ABOVE MSRP when we get our chance... Why should we sell something to a consumer so they can turn RIGHT AROUND and make a MASSIVE profit on it? Why shouldn't the LGS get a chance to pay more of their bills or even do something nice to improve the store because you probably whine about something they do wrong but don't have the money to fix as is.
Sick of attitudes like yours. I wish more game store owners would tell whiny customers to get their **** together and learn the cold hard facts of business.
The question I was asking was, is he allowed, as someone affiliated with an LGS, to sell product shipped to him, intended solely for initial sale in a brick and motar store, on ebay instead of selling it in the store per their agreement with wizards. Way to answer the wrong question in a very condescending way.
Our five copies are going out to players who inquired about this the day it was announced; we've had a few complaints about that recently, but why reward the players who aren't paying attention to the information Wizards is putting out there?
We're also selling ours at MSRP; one of a handful of stores I've heard of doing so.
I will repeat what has been said by people better informed than you: Advanced stores will be getting FIVE copies, not four. This was originally reported by people who got their allocation numbers from their distributors and was then confirmed by WotC.
My LGS (advanced level) just confirmed that they were getting 5
Then you risk Mutilate followed by unblockable death.
If you're comfortable with that gamble, then, by all means, make it.
However, I'm not just going to assume that someone dropped Vraska down with zero gameplan,
as you appear to be.
It's not even GG if you mutilate into ultimate. There are multiple commonly played cards that deal with three 1/1's on an empty board. and you have to survive that long after timewalking yourself on turn 5.
I'm not sayign she's bad, but she isn't the stone nuts and she doesn't do a good job of pulling you ahead when you are behind.
I assume you're talking about attacking the player while ignoring her +1 ability. An aggro deck should be poised for the killing stroke, but there are several Fog effects in the game, not to mention considerable lifegain. Since it was mentioned, a player who ramps into Thragtusk and follows it with Vraska isn't in bad shape. If nothing else, the aggro player loses tempo and board presence... which is a problem when the game is nearing turn 7.
Thragtusk into Vraska -3 is a play I can get behind, but it should be noticed that it's the thragtusk that is pulling you out of the hole. Vraska+fog seems bad though.
Yeah, but people always asume its Magical Christmass land, where they have all the creatures and you only have this planeswalker....
I dont get why people would say this is a bad walker but say Gideon Jura is a good Walker.....
I like Jace alot as wel to be honoust, not sure wich one I like more... have to playtest to realy figure wich is better....
Also the most hilarious imo is comparing her to a 7 or 8 CMC walker, that is just stupid math imo... yeah an 8cmc card should be way more powerfull duh.... it costs 8 friggin' mana, and also Nicol Bolas in not in Green, and 3 colours...
Gideon is much better because
1. his +2 ability actually stops you from dying. Her's gets ignored while your opponent just kills you.
2. his -2 ability is worse but costs less loyalty and combos with his +2 ability. her -3 is by far her best ability.
3. His "Ultimate" is much better at ending the game then hers is.
In short. Gideon can pull you out of a hole and she is only good if you are ahead or at parity on board.
Now that's a nice Planeswalker. Her abilities are actually very synergetic. If they have a lot of small guys, you +1 her, so that they 3 for 1 themselves if they try to kill her. If they have a fatty, you -3 her to kill it. So she's amazing at protecting herself. The question then is, is she good enough if they leave her alone? And that's clearly her weakness. Her ultimate is weak in a vacuum. Still, I want to play with her, seems like a really fun card.
Why would the deck with a bunch of little guys even care about her? Why wouldn't they just untap and beat your face?
I don't think you guys understand how badly the lack of ponder hurts delver. Having no real scry effects and fewer cheap/free instants/cantrips means that you will have to play a lot more lands and your delvers will flip much less often and you lose a ton of consistency. Delver didn't see any real play in block for a reason.
The artwork for the Charm seems to confirm that the Signets are out this time. One of the major purposes of the Signets was to give players a clear look at the guilds', well, signets. Now that they're doing that with the Charms, I don't see them having another cycle of cards with similar artwork in the set.
It's been confirmed for a long time now that signets are too good to be reprinted in standard under current design rules.

My LGS just lets people prepay for it.
That's really <******> of him. Is he even allowed to do that?
Please don't evade the censor. -TK

I'm pretty sure you can kill someone even if she +1s
