Depends on playstyle. Experiment one is pretty strong and grows quickly. I personally prefer SoP, especially with its synergy with Archangel

Alright.... It took 3 people but i'm going to listen! Thanks Yall!

Oh and Sin.. I am considering the hydras... I just feel that the lifegain of the thunes give the deck balance.. but I just ordered 3 to test.

Awesome, you'll find that the hydras are absolutely destructive! Good luck = )

There are also some awesome apps for phones with all cards, aside from searching the net on your phone for the cards.

I think it's usually polite though to have at least one English (or spoken language of the area) card in the deck if its a more obscure or complex card. (assuming you're running more than one)

if you're even considering FNM over her birthday, dump her, because you obviously dont like her very much.

Thats true.. there is definitely some trade off. I guess I tend to value BTE because you can essentially make your creatures unblockable... However, it only works on white creatures... so if i were to run that, id def want to drop scoozes for lions...

Yarr, that's true that is another plus. but I definitely don't think that its work maindecking. Sideboard most definitely.

Now why do y'all suggest the rootborn defenses over brave the elements? For two less mana, brave the elements will make your creatures near indestructible, and block them from being targeted, or enchanted. Is it because supreme verdit and anger doesn't target? Brave would at least guard against anger, while also being able to be used offensively to evade blockers..

I agree that the satyr is overrated.

Rootborn can stop verdict and anger and does so while protecting your green creatures and populating a token. The other thing is that rootborn will stop all colours from destroying your creatures. Meaning that if you're against aggro running multiple colours that rootborn will keep all your creatures alive no matter what colour your creatures are or what colour your opponents creatures are... while populating.

The only thing brave has over rootborn is the mana cost. And stopping enchantments and exiles.

And when you say for two less mana brave will make your creatures NEAR indestructible, for two more mana rootborn DOES make them indestructible. While populating Smile There are lots of ways to get around brave, less to get around rootborn.

There are tradeoffs, the thing about brave is that it may be better against control decks that are running Detention Sphere, but typically I would prefer rootborn. And don't underestimate the ability to make yourself another 5/5 trampling wurm or another VoR Token

I don't like Brave the Elements, Maybe Sideboard but Main Deck? When you can run Rootborn Defenses over it for the Control match-up. It has a high ratio but what happens when an Opponent pull a Supreme Verdict on you?

I agree, if you need to drop anything, drop the Brave the Elements. There is really no reason to run it over Rootborn, plus its much better in sideboard.

I also think dropping a lion would be a mistake. They are strong against aggro, a 3/3 for 2 on turn 2 is awesome, plus they get indestructible unlike the rest of the deck. And against control you're going to wish you still had them when they board wipe you and you dont have a rootborn in hand to save your bum.

Another option would be to drop Archangels and replace them with Kalonian Hydras, so they work synergistically with experiment ones and scooze, losing a little lifegain but getting a huge counter pump. which would also solve the problem because you could drop 2 unflinching courage (since hydras have trample) and one brave the elements and have a smooth running deck with basically the same composition aside from the Archangels.

Mutavault is a preference thing, it's not bad, but I personally wouldnt run it. As for Satyrs, unflinching courage helps out with filling in for them (plus gives trample against aggro and elspeth decks), but really as long as you have smiters in the 3 drop slot there wont be a problem.

I am sorry if this looks disgusting , I am still trying to learn how to use the Deck Tags.

Thanks! I dont think you need deck tags this late in the thread anyway, everyone here should know the cards.

I like this type of build, I know you're not the first to build a list like this, but I may switch up to something similar, especially since you experienced success against everything but Esper.

@ KDowns, could you post your deck list? I thought you had posted it earlier but I went back to look and couldn't find it.

Personally I think 1 ofs are too risky, especially when its +7 +7 trample which begs a response, and if that card fizzles you're left swinging with the team as per usual. In aggro the card is way too slow, and in midrange there are far better options such as Archangel of Thune and life gain to pump your dudes up like crazy, there is also the cheaper choice of giving all your creatures trample with Nylea and not putting all your eggs in one basket.

Tell me what you guys think about this, I've only tried it out casually, but I like playing it so far.
I threw Nylea in to fill in for Unflinching Courage and to take up less spots and to offer an indestructible global trample, I like it in theory. It's worked well so far, but I haven't had the staunchest competition, like I said before.

Anyway, any feedback and explanations appreciated until I take on some real competition with this.

    Is Bramblecrush viable for us?

Too slow and expensive, you're better off sideboarding specific cheap spells like Plummet or Glare of Heresy.

Selesnya charm is amazing. But we need more removal. Anything that can deal with Boros Reckoner.

I hope you were rocking Glare of Heresy sideboard. That's our best response to BR

I'm in the process of putting GW midrange together right now and I have been planning to set Archangel of Thune as one of my core combo/hitters, but over the lifespan of this thread I have noticed that while being mentioned often in the earlier decks, Archangel seems to disappear from the later decks, most people opting to replace it.
I was just wondering if anybody could explain to me why it seems that Archangel is falling out of favour in this archetype?
