Thanks guys. The problem is that this is to far from my region and don’t know what to expect, even remotely. There has been mkm open in september, which meta i am looking at. The vast majority was ds, then e-tron, then burn. All of these decks are not the one that I want to face with TS...unless I am missing on something.
Also, peppple who play pia and kiran in main, how do they perform? And vs which decks are good?
    Also, swagtusk mb,yay or nay?
    Cheers guys,
This forum really offers a lot of supp

    Hi everyone,
A quick question, as I can’t decide on my own. Regional PTQ is coming next week and I can’t decide which deck to play, scapeshift or abzan. Thought maybe there are some pros and cons that I’ve missed? It’s an unknown meta, in Nurneberg, Germany. Currently I am leaning towards abzan because storm just pees on Titanshift and ressurgance of infect scares me, but I kinda feel that I know valakuts better. Also regionals results are not giving hope

    Hi,

First of all, good job to everyone rocking Titanshift Smile

I would like to ask @wtyyy about those Leylines in side, do you bring them in vs only burn or there are other matchups that can be used (storm, GDS, ad naus, mirror?? Smile
Why singleton explore and not 3 Hour of Promise?
Are angers in main better than Sveltering suns, since you can cycle these in MUs that you don't need a sweeper, and are sweepers main worth it instead of ful combo commitment? (I can answer this one by myself, but still want elses opinion)

    Thanks,
    CHeers Smile

    Hi everyone,

There was a big MKM open modern tournament yesterday (around 650 players), and there were two DSJ decks in top 8, including one in the finals. The list from finals is stocked with removals and he plays only 16 lands. Interested in others thoughts,I really think that's low, but looking at his list he only has 2 spells with cmc 3. How playable do you guys think our deck is with 16 lands? I doubt it was pure luck that got him to finals after 10 rounds of swiss.

    Hi guys,

Went to a WMCQ yesterday and just wanted to drop a short report:
55 people registered. This is what I signed:

At the last moment before the registration I switched selfless spirit with Magus of the moon in the side, and it was worth it.

    Round 1 - Jeskai Ascendancy storm - 2:0
G1 - He was a friend of mine so I knew what he was playing and I mulled to 5 aggressively to find a hand with removals. T3 he went into combo and I waited, and in response to Flesh // Blood targeting his Birds i pathed it and just killed him 2-3 turns after that.
G2 - T1 BoP, T2 EE into Eidolon of Rhetoric into T3 Magus of the Moon. All that hate <3

    1:0

    Round 2 - Affinity - 2:1
G1 - He opened with Land - Grafdigger's Cage, I almost called the judge to check his deck if he forgot to side out, but he told me it was his maindeck choice. Anyway, I drew removals and pathed 2 of his Lords, until he eventually went through with Champion and Plating while I was holding 3 Evos in hand
G2 - T1 Bop, T2 Pontiff - cleared his 2 Vault skirges, T3 Resto, T4 EE into Kiki. He went all in with his hand and tapped out, and didn't save mana for Dismember in his hand because he was not expecting Evolution, since I didn't played in G1, for obv reasons.
G3 - Not much to say. There was no cage, so bolts and EE wall in to P&K gets there eventually

    2:0

    Round 3 - Abzan Company - 2:0
G1 - It was rather funny, because everything he played I drew an exact answer. He is on the play, goes for Noble Hierarch; I play fetch-shock-bolt. He plays Melira, I go ooze. He plays Finks, i go Bolt and eat Finks. From there, it was witness into bolt - eat creature with ooze. Resto witness into bolt - eat it with ooze and rest he must chump rather large ooze and I win through beatdown.
G2 - T3 Evolving Wall into Linvala, following up with Magus of the Moon locks the game.

    3:0

    Round 4 - Jund - 2:0
G1 - I knew it was Jund and kept a hand with 5 lands, bolt and wall of omens. He discarded my first 3 plays, then I drew 2 witness in a row to chump his Goyf, and after that drew Reveillark with 2 Witness in graveyard and went to value town from there hanging on 5 life.
G2 - I saw he was playing P&K so I kept Pontiff after side, which was a good call. He played P&K, i responded with pontiff, and turn later Evolved it into Sigarda, which he was not able to get rid off, and we all know, she beats Jund in face ez.

    4:0

ID next to rounds and positioned 3rd in overall standings.

    Top 8 - Bant eldrazi - 0:2
G1 - 0 removals on my side, and he just went wider than me, exiling 3 of my Resto angels on the way, cutting value plays (1 with path and 2 with Thought Knot).
G2 - Mulled to 6. Kept a hand with Murmuring bosk, forest, wall of omens, Evolution and a bolt. Scryed Pontiff to bottom. Thought process was I need a land by turn 3 to Evolve wall into Magus and gg since he also mulled to 5. Never saw land #3, and he played TKS on T3 and Smasher turn later for ass whoopin'.

Overall I am super satisfied how the deck performed, mana screw happens, that is the Magic we play. Went home with 90 EUR in store credit, I took some random BFZ gift box (needed the box), and Board games. From the boosters in the gift box i ripped an Expedition, so it made a nice cherry on top of a great day.
    Conclusions after the tourney:
    - Magus of the Moon wins games by his own, play him if your mana base can support it. I would probably played some Blood Moons in side if I had them.
    - I never had a need for Overgrown Tomb, you just have to fetch Bosk when the opportunity shows up. Will probably replace Tomb with some utility land - Township or GQ.
    - Reveillark with 4 witness is a power house, it is not to much, but you need to have some form maindeck lifegain. In testing Baloth was enough for me to win Burn preboard, with all the bolts and walls for his creatures.

Just wanted to thank all of you, this forum gave me tons of insights and deck tech and strats.
Hope I didn't bored you all to much,
    Just keep on Evolving!

    Cheers!

Phantasmal image can make some sweet plays out of nowhere, an extra angel/witness/glen/rec sage etc.
The idea with druad arbor is sweet, i might give it a chance.

The thing is that i think blue is to slow (but more powerful),but i share the thoughts with delfam, and think that sin collector can be more powerful against control and even jund/abz, and that smoother mana is probably smarter choice.

I want to play blue, but last time i used glen elendra once, in one game in 6 rounds, to counter summoning pact in game vs elves that I already won on untap. And it makes me feel safe, that is the weirdest thing, although i barely use her o.O

    Hi all!

I must say that this 4-of build got me really interested, both black splash from InnnnnnoVation and the blue splash. Since the WMCQs are this sunday here I wanted to ask for an advice which way to go?

These are the lists that I am testing:
    Black list - https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/471641#paper

Pros: mana runs much smoother (Rhino is currently there, since i got no other MB lifegan. I am testing between finks, rhino, baloth and thragtusk )
Got sin collectors in the side for control/combo MU
    Shriekmaw is nuts vs eldrazi

    Blue list - https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/473798#paper

    Pros: Counterspells ta-daah Smile
    Staticaster (could also be con)
Extra copy of everything in the form of Phantasmal Image
    Cons: more demanding mana base
    0 lifegain MB

I am between these 2 lists and can't decide...In July's WMCQ we got around 60 ppl, with large plethora of decks. Mostly were infect and affinity, 0 scapeshift, and like 15 other decks including Jeskai, abz coco, jund, eldrazi, ad nauseum, merfolks, mardu, burn, goblins, U and RG tron.

    Hoping for some decent advice,
and thanks, really enjoying the content here ! :9

    Cheers!

    Hi everyone,

    One thing is bothering me.
EE is legal for a month or so now...In my testings so far I've came to a conclusion that Nahiri - Emmy package is more consistent, or is that just me? I've tried both blue and black version, /w and w/o Nahiri and currently i am playing "old" black version except I got split of 3 EE/2 Chords/3 paths and it's much more stable.

    Interested in other opinions :9
    Cheers!

    Hi everybody,

I've been on Kiki wagon for a few weeks now and I'm really liking it. I've played abzan Coco for over a year and changed because the meta started hating GY a lot!

The WMCQ is approaching, and I wanted to ask our little community for the feedback on black/blue splash. I've tested both in past couple of weeks trying to prepare for the upcoming weekend.
From my testing black is more aggressive and with 3 resto and P&K and pontiff in main keeps enough pressure and gives an edge over infect (which is heavy in the meta here). The decks I would need blue is Living end and maaaaybe 1 restore balance. Don't know how applicable is to Jeskai Nahiri decks. Also it gives me a broader sideboard because I tend to squeeze many 1-ofs.
I've seen more black lists top than blue (only blue success was Dallas last weekend).
And yes, I have read past xy pages with the discussion, I am asking here for a real feedback, not theory.
    Thanks in advance Smile

    Hi everybody Smile
I'm a long time CoCo player and a long time reader here on the forum, but this is my first post here. I'm playing the deck for the past year with a reasonable success in my meta. At first I was playing a list similar to Bosley's list from GP CHA 2015, but then moved to list with all CoCo-able creatures. I love the deck , and experimented with lots of sideboard cards to tweak the deck, and I can always tweak it more Smile
Anyway, as the modern WMCQ is approaching I am in big dilemma, our meta is not big, and at WMCQ there will be 50 players max, and a lot of them know that me, and 2 more guys are playing the deck, and almost everybody is dedicating a few SB cards for us. I need an advice, should I go along and pack anti-hate, or move to Kiki-Chord and catch them by surprise?

On the other hand, what is ppls opinion on scullers vs voice in the side? Most of meta are aggro decks, a couple of controls decks, 2 combo elves and mirror, and a lot of affinity and burn Smile
And thanks again for good CoCo read and nice community here on the forum,
    Cheerz Smile
