I have a pretty good selection of what the top picked cards are according to CubeTutor, but I feel that my whole list is a hodge podge. I need some help streamlining it and I have no idea how to test what is essentially a 720 card deck. Again, guidance is appreciated.
So there is what I got. I have tried - and succeeded - at getting at least one card from every set. I also know that there are "power" cards on there like Maze of Ith, Gifts Given, etc. that I want to leave in.
However, if things look out of place to you, can you please make some suggestions on how to streamline things? Thanks.
So, I am new at this. I know that there are guides and the like out there, but my experience with this game is limited and I simply do not know how to compile 20+ years of cards to make a solid cube. I would like to see if I can pull the collective resources of this site and see if I can't get a decent cube.
I am thinking that I want the cube to be a full 720 cards - non powered. I would like to have at least one card from each set (including Portal: Three Kingdoms, Unhinged, and Unglued) Alpha all the way up to Battle for Zendikar.
Does anyone have a cube like this that I can borrow from? Any resources you can send me to start? Thanks in advance.
So, I have read the rules. I have gone to the thread that is specifically devoted to U/B Control deck construction. However, I am not finding a reply button or any other means of being able to post and ask my question. Am I stupid or is there a waiting period for new users? That being said, If this does not belong here, I am sorry.
That being said, my friend built me the following deck:
5 Island
5 Swamp
4 Polluted Delta
4 Temple of Deceit
4 Dismal Backwater
3 Radiant Fountain
1 Bloodstained Mire
1 Flooded Strand
1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
1 Pearl Lake Ancient
4 Disdainful Stroke
4 Dissolve
4 Hero's Downfall
4 Bile Blight
4 Dig Through Time
3 Jace's Ingenuity
2 Crux of Fate
1 Silence the Believers
2 Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver
2 Ugin, the Spirit Dragon
1 Perilous Vault
SIDEBOARD
1 Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver
1 Crux of Fate
1 Perilous Vault
2 Tasigur, the Golden Fang
3 Drown in Sorrow
2 Negate
1 Murderous Cut
4 Thoughtseize
This is supposedly a tier 1 deck, but it seems slow and clunky. Admittedly, I am getting back into the game after a few years off, so my grasp might not be the best. Even so, does this look like a solid build? Looking for constructive advice for my FNM games.
So, I played Magic from Alpha to Lorwyn, took a long break, and recently decided to get back into it with Fate Reforged. First booster I opened up a Ugin, so clearly it was meant to be. However, I digress. I bought about three boosters each of M2015, Theros, Born, Journey, Khans, and Fate (Thanks Uncle Sam!) and am looking at all the great stuff I am pulling. My question is with the prevalence of U/B Control floating on the scene, why isn't U/R viable?
There are some great multi-colored cards that are in the sets that do great things for control. There are plenty of draw manipulation cards as well as direct damage to control creature flow. Is not having opposing fetch lands that big of a deal? Is black just THAT strong when compared against red? Help me understand.
TO the admins, sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but I could not find a general Standard thread for general discussion.

Any feedback and card alternatives as well as suggestions would be welcome.

1. No search/reshuffle affects. THis includes when creatures die.
2. Singleton format.
Where does one begin to get information for creating something like this?
