Legacy Weapon has moved to it's new permanent home, www.legacyweapon.com! We are very excited about this move, as it allows us to do a lot of new things. Feedback on the site is welcome, as we are new to site design.
ALSO! this means the RSS feed and itunes info has changed. Be sure to subscribe/link to the new feed and site, as the old one will not be updating.
Onto new episodes, Legacy Weapon # 17 is up!
With Legacy Gauntlet coming up on MTGO, this is a uniquely amazing chance for people to play with and against top tier legacy decks on the cheap, regardless of where you live!
We wanted you to be prepared for any deck you are randomly assigned and be prepared to fight any deck your opponent has SO the fastest deck techs in the west!
Yes they are 10,000 ft. view deck techs, but doing all 14 decks justice would have made a 28 hour episode. Think of the poor bandwidth!
It may be redundant to some extent, but I am trying to make a community calendar of Legacy events. I will try to include these events to mine, and I encourage you to come check ours (though ours is much shorter than this)
I have set it up so people can add their local events, and then everyone can see them. In theory, I want to crowd-source this as a sortable, worldwide calendar. I will put the above events on my to-do list, but with all worldwide events, it's a long list for one guy.
This is a Great crash course for Legacy. Our podcast is aimed at doing the same thing, but at a much more deliberate pace. I dig this and plan to link to it on our next episode of Legacy Weapon.
Tech difficulties made this go up a little late (and now made me post here a little late), but part 2 of our interview of Alex Kessler of the Masters of Modern podcast is up.
We talk legacy, modern, banning policies in both (#BanTerminous), and make WILDLY NAIVE predictions about the Modern Pro Tour!
This will be the last post in the Modern boards for us for a while, since our general episodes are fairly exclusively Legacy. If you like the show or want to talk modern with me, hop over tot he Legacy page or hit me up on gmail, twitter, or here.

That poll is way too black and white, definitely needs some middle options. For example, proxying things like Black Lotus and Ancestral Recall is one thing, but someone might feel differently about proxying something like a Siege Rhino.
I personally don't love proxies, they cheapen the experience for me somewhat, unless you're talking about extremely pricey cards P9, LoA, etc.
Yup. I can't vote.
I sleeve up playtest cards for new decks I'm interested in all the time, as do friends sometimes. But I would never do that for a deck long term or medium term.
ON THE OTHER HAND I think that proxy events are great unsanctioned ways to introduce players to a format who otherwise couldn't, whether vintage, legacy, or even modern or standard.
Also, not to bring it up as a topic because it is exhausting, but there is a different between a proxy/playtest card and a forgery...please make your playtest cards not look the same (custom art, "not for sale", black and white ink, etc)
Check your local judges. Usually proxies are for damage that happens during the game, but maybe you can bring this to a tournament in a hard case and use a proxy/playtest card in its place?
Legacy Weapon podcast episode 9 is live, and we tackle a listener question about moving from modern into legacy.
We are Modern noobs, so we brought on the amazing Alex Kessler of the Masters of Modern podcast to fill up our format knowledge Venn Diagram.
This is our FIRST interview episode and first episode on Modern, so feedback is appreciated, ESPECIALLY from Modern players as this episode is more focused to you.
Remember, we are an introduction to Legacy for people who know magic but don't know legacy. We started at the 100% ground level of complexity and have been working our way up as we build the listener's presumed knowledge base. This episode is a little more advanced...it takes some knowledge of legacy and modern for granted, but is still aimed to be accessible.

Standard being expensive and modern doubling in price helped
Modern bannings help, were legacy is the accessible format where your good deck is "permanent".
MODO sucks but helps as well.
There are 4 or more new legacy podcasts in the last year alone.
Legacy Weapon
TuskTalk
Level Up Legacy
The Brainstorm Show
There is also a minor snowball effect. Plenty of people would play if there was a local scene, so 2 guys starting a weekly game will quickly turn into 8 guys.
Episode 8 of Legavy weapon went live today, and it is a digestible introduction and analysis of the old "who is the Beatdown" game strategy theory, specialized for Legacy and for people new to the concept.
This is a shorter episode, and the first focusing on a specific, narrow strategy topic. Let me know what you think! Feedback is appreciated, but even better is keeping us in mind for anyone you know who is curious about getting into/getting better at the (best) format.
Side topic. And thanks to the people who gave feedback a while back on our audio. Since episode 3 we got new microphones, and I'm happy to give any microphone advice to anyone looking into getting one.
Brainstorm is too closely tied to people's idea of the format. Brainstorm is "better" than treasure cruise. We are ok with one, though both was too much. They banned TC and not BS, so Brainstorm will never be banned.
That said, Brainstorm is good for the format. I play Elves, so sor tof hate BS, but BS makes FoW substantially better, and FoW is the reason turn 1-2 combos arn't the only decks available.
Agreed though. I want a Wasteland in all five Comander decks. No joke.

Keep up the good work!
We got Kenji as a guest to discuss MTGO, Leagues, and Legacy. Part 1 is live now, and part 2 goes up next week.
Feedback is appreciated. As I usually am posting these in the Legacy page, getting opinions from outside my sphere is very helpful.
Cheers!

I have been remiss in posting here, as I don't want to over spam, but 4 new episodes of Legacy Weapon are up!
We have a two part Maverick discussion!

We have.....me singing?
As we start having more guests, start experimenting with different audio editing, and hit our stride, any feedback or suggestions are still welcome.
I am STOKED at how many people contact me now about their own starts into legacy or about starting up a local scene. Its working! The plan is working!

Thanks Torpf, sorry about that. New to the Modern forum.
Part 2 of our interview with Alex will go live either this week or next week, and I'll post that to the community subforum as well.
