I personally love fat packs for the players guide/encylopedia alone. You can only get them from fat packs.

...Knight of Obligation has amazing art but falls flat in the usefulness department... Knight of Obligation could have easily been :symbw::symbw: pro white pro black extort 2/2 and actually seen some play...

I totally agree! I was so excited about what kind of card that art would have been used on, oh well.

EDIT: The set as a whole seems fun for limited. I'm mostly a modern player so there's not much for me here.

Hello. If I have a sangromancer on the battlefield and cast smallpox, assuming my opponent has a creature to sacrifice and a card to discard, will my sangromancers abilities trigger? I'm not sure whether or not her abilities would go on the stack since she's no longer in play. Thanks!

  • posted a message on You have $50 to spend on any selection of Magic staples. What do you get?
$50 won't get you much, but I'd probably spend it on shocklands and then a playset of lightning bolts and path to exile.

  • posted a message on How do you buy your Magic Cards?
I usually buy singles off of ebay or off of MTGS Market Street. For commons or uncommons I'll hit up my LGS. Other than that, I'll buy a fatpack whenever a new set is released.

  • posted a message on Lending Cards
I prefer not to loan out my cards unless the cards are really needed, and only then would I lend to close friends. I just don't feel comfortable with others handling my cards or gumming up my sleeves, etc.

Definitely Goldeneye and mario kart 64. I remember always having a blast with Goldeneye, but when I think about it the gameplay might feel dated compared to modern FPS.

Definitely ask your friend how he/she would like their cards to be treated. That's pretty much all there is to it, your friend will let you know how to handle their cards exactly. I would want people treating my decks like they treat their own, since some of them riffle, snap their cards, etc. Other than that, just make sure your hands are always clean and be prepared to replace any damaged cards.

  • posted a message on [[Official]] Card Sleeves and Protectors Discussion
I like to use black Japanese ultra pro sleeves myself. I don't think they produce these anymore though, I'm having a hard time finding them. They're generally cut pretty evenly and I like the tight fit they have on the cards. Also, I've never had any split on me. They come with a shiny backing that gets scuffed up pretty badly, so playing with a playmat is a must. I wish they were available with a matte finish because any moisture on the sleeves makes it really hard to shuffle since the cards stick to each other.

For my casual or budget decks I use regular black matte ultra pro sleeves. I've noticed that the newer sleeves are actually cut evenly which is a huge plus, but I've had a few split on me.

I've recently gotten into legacy and acquired some legacy staples. I felt insecure playing with my playset of sinkholes because they felt so weak and flimsy so I decided to start playing double sleeved. I use KMC perfect fits inside of japanese ultra pros. The cards feel really sturdy with the added protection, the only downside is that the deck is 1.5x bigger with the KMC perfect fits + japanese ultra pros. Also, they trap air bubbles inside that seem to come back even after you press the air out. Oh well, small price to pay for protection.

  • posted a message on Card links going to different databases
Hi guys, does anybody know why sometimes linked cards through the card tags send me to either magiccards.info or the wizard's gatherer? I prefer using magiccards.info as it seems to load faster and more accurately. I just find it odd that sometimes I'd click on a linked card and it sends me to different databases. Does this happen to anyone else? Thanks.
