I've played almost this ^ exact version by Pride, minus all the new GRN cards, because my playgroup has fizzled a bit. The decks a house, and will win so many games. I can't imagine how much fun it is to loop Plaguecrafters. And on his last point, yeah, sometimes I would waste evenings trying to figure out which package to build to deck, because they're all fun and all good.

Thanks guys, great posts. Xyx, I have a Mana Vault and I forgot to put it in, haha. I'm going to put in a Key, and save the Servants for now. I'll play Tinker and see how it seems in this deck, but previous decks with Tinker I've played can really get opponent's mouths watering to set me back so many cards by destroying the tutored card. More of a political problem against the card. It's more likely to be worth it here.

Awesome edit, Prid3. I had a feeling you'd like Sai, Master Thopterist. As soon as I saw this card, I knew this deck could create a ton of evasive 1/1's, which is a perfect recipe for winning a game. Soon I'd also like to make a deck less combo focused and use him in a swarm deck or Stax deck.

I'll edit in a new draft soon.

I love Paradoxical Outcome, and I'm always trying to play it in new decks. With Sai, Master Thopterist coming out I think this list is going to be very fun. I build with a good sized budget, unless it's Dual Lands and Mox Opal, or unless I already own it, like Time Vault and Tolarian Academy. I also like to stick to a single color for building drafts. A black splash makes this deck even better. This is pretty heavily borrowed from Seth's standard version of the deck, but I don't see any way around it if I don't spend money on Mox Opals. I really do like the thopters Sai creates, for using with Inspiring Statuary.

Absolutely love the idea of this deck, Pride, The Mentors sold me. Have you played it much? I need to spend about 45$ worth of cards and I could have it as is, non budget build. I'll try and get them soon!

Skullclamp is perfect, yeah, that was just an omission from a lack of remembering. 5 color is interesting, since the thopter/sword combo just refuels my life total. Not sure though. I don't have blue duals (only duals I have are Savannah, Plateau, and Taiga), so the life loss (or lack of tempo) from 5 color can be tough with Exsanguinates before I gain back up.

Austere command is great, I think that/something like it will be added in my next draft. I'm not too big a fan of the witch, I'd rather play Coffin which I have a couple of. But it really needs to be welded. Mind's Eye needs welding too, which I'm not opposed to playing more of.

So the deck is a Thopter/Sword deck. It's 4 colors because on the off chance I'll need to hard cast breya. I've used Breya before in conjunction with Goblin Welders recycling Myr Battlespheres and the the result is insane. The reach it gives to take out low life total opponents is invaluable, and the spot removal is so good. Time Vault is here because I love the card, and it works reasonably well. The planeswalkers are here because I just find them fun, I know it's too many, so some will go away. Maybe swap Daretti out for Welders? This is basically the platonic form of my deck, and it needs distilled down to the cards that really matter that I forget about.

Hey everyone, huge fan of the forum, especially prid3's guides. First time posting. I play 4 player multiplayer, sometimes up to 5-6 players which turns into Star or 3 headed giant. My group goes by the "if you bought it you can play it" keeping in mind the vintage restricted list (though we're all on budgets, so it takes a long time to power up). The decks can get spikey, but we still play mostly decks and pet cards we love, that we try to make as competitive as possible. Some players that rotate in just play aggro decks that are as budget as possible and can still end stealing wins depending on how much the top decks keep each other in check.

As for our meta, there's big mono white control, eldrazi, death and taxes, vampire tribal, rat tribal, U/G Taking Turns (prid3s list), MBC, and others I cant remember.

Recently I got an unlimited Time Vault through store credit. I love grixis Thopter/Sword decks so I'm combining the two. In a multiplayer game being decked out is a real concern (Ulamog swings, library manipulations from myself and my opponents, mill etc), so to prove to my opponents I can actually reduce all their life totals to 0 with "infinite" turns, Thopter/Sword is there to do that.

I haven't actually played this Time Vault list yet, there's a few cards I'd have to buy but not many.

I would love to get some insight, ideas, whatever you got. So far, my next course of action is to get a Mox Sapphire. Collector's Edition, of course. I'm thinking abut adding in a Blightsteel Colossus for tinker, but single target removal/sacrifice is already present. I know the planeswalker package is uncoordinated, but I love Saheeli's ult for this deck. Daretti is just super fun, I might need a few artifact lands for him. I just really like the varity of planeswalkers, hence no 4 of's. I'll need more survivability at some point too, Massacre and Toxic Deluge are my top picks.

I need more cards that take advantage of looting, and a card to take advantage of Dack's ult like a Staff of Nin. But finding space for all this tech is tough, and I wonder if I should just go all in on the combo (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric tutor, etc, but that's just less fun. Card disadvantage can be real too). One interaction I can't get enough of is Breya/Academy/ThopterSword. Just... brutal. Alright, that's it for now. Thanks for looking!

A guy by the name Oliv on Magicville is in a lot of distress over these changes, the overall philosophy of the decisions made, and cancelled his trip to DTP in July (EDIT: this was Asimov that cancelled). Asimov agreed with him, so if you'd like to say something we'd love to hear it! I just ran the website through Google translate so I'm sure I missed some nuances. Overall Oliv seemed reasonable and wasn't making a rash decision.

Let's not forget Legion Loyalist's oft forgotten but very important text. He's a great out to the combo.

Since no one's said it yet, you can make *almost* any mono blue commander competitive, and that land base is very cheap. I also agree with Kriggy about Dragonlord Ojutai.

It looks like any blue fetch would work, since there's no fetching of basic mountains.

I don't think she's been mentioned yet, but I'm going to try the new Linvala out. Anyone else?

Rich Shay (5-0 league) was using a Darkblast sided in his mono black version, and also a single Night's Whisper maindeck, which he wanted probably just 1 more of sometimes. Darkblast was used against Tooth and Nail.

I'm really into this deck, but I haven't played it yet but I really want to, I've only goldfished it. I do have some concerns, and questions. First off, pyromancer feels bad without cheap cantrips. The mountain count is so high, hitting double green with untapped lands on turn 3 for Courser was hard. If I wanted to cut mountains, add fetchlands, then the Great Aurora resolution is gonna suck in regards to Valakut. So if I cut Valakut, that opens me to up to better mana fixing, which makes me feel like I could run Jund, for Kolaghans Command, Abrupt Decay, Pia, etc. Jund is amazing at 1 for 1's, and it has nice 2 for 1's. With that, we can keep parity and pull ahead with cards like Courser, E-Wit, Explores, for a relatively big Aurora compared to theirs. In the end, this is just speculation.

I hope it doesn't sound like I don't like the Valakut RG direction, I think it's awesome. One thought just lead to another. I'd much rather enjoy Prime Times into Great Auroras into Valakut triggers for 54 face damage than Jund.
