If you are only interested in getting the whole set, without duplicates, places like ABU games sell it for 200-ish $
If you want to open the full set by buying booster boxes, it will take at least a case to get all the mythics and that's assuming no duplicates
Considering that stabilised wood is a pain to work with, being mostly resin, that it costs a lot and is only available in small pieces (like on inch by six by a quarter inch), I would say forget about it. If you like this look, you would be better off making a box with plywood and experiment with epoxies and dies on the outside of it.
Not only expeditions can vary a lot in looks, but also no one has faked the holostamp yet (at least none of the chinese that i'm keeping track of). If i'm not mistaken, even normal foil fakes are not sold. So foil + holostamp are a sure sign you have real cards. (and who would counterfeit standard only stuff anyway ?)
only did it once in ten years of driving, highway was a parking lot due to a five cars pile up crash, so i answered yes, but it aint a frequent thing....
If you buy clear plexiglass, you should be able to make yourself nice shelves out of them, fitting exactly a dice height and have your whole collection on display while being able to reach for any specific dice. Should be quite cheap on tools as you pretty much would need a saw and a hot glue gun. Might take a dozen hours to do though.
In General not giving targets for Abrupt Decay is on of the strengths of this deck. As much as i like maggot, since it has an easy manacost, it is inferior to Tidehollow Sculler.
Say you play a Maggot, your opponent can react and just kill it with a bolt/path/whatever. The maggot is gone, and you dont get to exile a card (not for long that is).
If he does that to a Sculler, you will still get to exile a card from his hand that will never return, since its "leaves the battlefield" trigger happens before you actually exile a card.
But i have to say that i have not tested it, maybe maggot is good afterall
Unless you are pathing your own tidehollow sculler on ETB, to get a (3 mana/2 cards) exile + ramp effect, tidehollow and brain maggots are the same. No opponent will bolt tidehollow on ETbB, and if they do, you should have an easy game against them as they re clearly new players or do not think.
If you are going black white and can consistently pull 2w 1b on turn three with sculler and path in your hand, it is clearly better, but otherwise, brain maggots, by being easier to cast and not an artifact feel better all around.
I've been tinkering with a BG deck for the past few days, did not have a chance to play it yet, but I had a question: Did anyone consider the black leyline as a 4 of mainboard ? I feel like 4 leyline and two relics would be enough to consistently have one in your opening hand. IT feels better than rest in peace as it does not mess up our own graveyard, it shuts down snappies and other strategies (unburial combos) for long enough for us to win.
The downside is that it prevents us to use graveyard extractions cards, but is it that major of a drawback ? (I feel like no winning lists run that kind of cards)
I brought in a collection of cards to donate to the store,
Any person DONATING cards to a store does not care at all about value as far as i'm concerned. Give to a new player, sure, sell for bulk price, why not, but giving it away so someone can make money out of it ...
Anyway, buy a box promos are in a really limited supply for a store, compared to how many boxes they buy. Im my LGS, any preorder of a case gets you 2 and if there are any left, you can get one as long as you buy a box and more on a first come first served basis.
Anyway, ruinous path is 10 CAD here in canada, so do what you wish with that info, but to answer your question, you already cheated yourself by donating stuff ....
French singles are easy to find in north america thanks to Quebec.
Just use one of montreal or quebec online store, such as gamekeeper or face to face and you should get what you want.
Actually, a machine could be built to handle the cards minimally if it sorts cards in a custom box and then a human operator takes the stack from the box to put it in storage. It would just need to drop the cards in the box after reading them (with a tray similar to one of a slide projector that would open under the card once the right spot in the custom box has been reached). A slide projector kind of tray would also allow to have the card always at the exact distance/lighting for image recognition. Problem is, that system would only be useful when sorting a specific number of card, or a number of cards with a limited number of variables.
With several passes, this could work : dump 1000 cards in the tray, first pass, it classes them by sets (lets say the custom box has 50 slots, that is plenty enough to do that). Second pass, you empty the sorting box and feed the machine one set at a time, it sorts them by color. Third pass, it sorts the cards by collector number.
By stacking cards manually after each pass, you can do multiple times the same pass to sort out a whole collection in a pretty efficient way.
Creating a custom database of all magic cards to have it work, though is a titanic task.
It is still one of the better first drops for burn. Late game, though, it's not as good, but still, playing 2 or 3 of them in burn is still something real.
Disagree with this. There are lots of scenarios where opponents can let the 4/3 resolve and you'll never see a point of damage out of it. This includes the fairly common situation of Devil being blocked by Goyf/Tasigur/Angler (especially the latter two, given the rise of Grixis), Devil getting removed by instants, and, the worst case scenario, Devil getting killed by a sorcery-speed removal like Anger of the Gods or Liliana. Devil also gives the opponent one more turn to draw into removal before it can enter combat. The other Burn creatures can all get in damage before they die, and/or can all go into the red zone before the opponent gets a draw step and mainphase.
Should have put more emphasis on the bolded sentence ...
If your opponent gets turn2 anglers/tass, lili or angers consistently, i would love to see their lists ...
and, yes, when you play burn, turn three is considered late game.
Vexing devil is still good in burn, it basically reads :
R:
your opponent chooses one
- deal 4 damage to target opp
- destroy target creature
- fetch a basic land
as you gonna either deal damage, trade for something or it gonna get pathed

Funko products can be found in a wide range of stores, find one that sell pop! products and they should be able to order legacy stuff too.
