Once upon a time Shared Fate was a true tilter for me. I've gotten over other people playing my stuff as I played the format, and borrowing decks became a common thing in my playgroup. Back in the day though, resolving a Shared Fate meant I scooped no questions.
I've been playing with the idea of a Boros general that's the love-child of Legion's Initiative and Mentor of the Meek. Value for creatures and resistance to board wipes seems like a good niche for a Boros commander, and would have an actual general theme to it. Maybe give it defender and encourage a more defensive play style.
Even in multiplayer, Sol Ring has made quite the impact. A buddy of mine had the habit of pointing out just how significant it was in a given player's strategy, and just how impactful it was on the game. As an example, before I dropped Sol Ring from my decks I realized that my Nicol Bolas vorthos supreme deck couldn't win against my friend's Radha, Heir to Keld deck unless I got an early Sol Ring. I didn't think much of it at the time, but looking back it bothers me that I was that dependent on it.
As a side note, I'm iffy on banning things because I, quite simply, lack the scope of knowledge to make that call on a format wide scale. I personally don't use it because I feel it warps my play experience.
I'm currently running a Mayael deck that just recently became Beast tribal. Everyone has good suggestions especially the guy that mentioned Contested Cliffs. Other than that a few of my favorite beasts are
I see you're running Rhox Faithmender. Have you considered trying a Boon Reflection? You said you don't like the idea of Felidar Sovereign effects. Did you mean any "I win the game" effect, or specifically those related to life total? If it's just life total you could consider running Epic Struggle, as it's quite a bit more interactive than plopping down a Test of Endurance at 4k life. I'd also like to mention Champion of Lambholt because in a token gen deck she can get huge fast, and everyone likes being unblockable.
No, no they don't. As far as I'm concerned, this argument that people play commander just for infamous broken old cards is completely and utterly false and should stop being repeated.
Commander is the first actual format I've played. Before that it was whatever cards I had in a pile of crap. Is it nice to have minimal restrictions? Yes. Of course it is. However, that lends itself to the kind of variation that other formats lack. This format is great because I can get away with running Envelop over Counterspell. The kind of jank you can get away with makes it all worth it.
To the original comment, I would agree that this format is good at making flashy plays it isn't all Sol Rings and Necropotence. Sometimes you just want to Tooth and Nail for Skarrg Goliath and Krosan Groundshaker.

Kalonian Behemoth and Terra Stomper for generic big stompy
Caller of the Pack because I run Warstorm Surge effects
Siege Behemoth and Thunderfoot Behemoth because Beasts hate blockers
Grave Sifter because Beasts
If you do go with Mayael, I would also recommend tossing in a Scroll Rack in case you draw a creature you need, but are scared of counterspells.
