Definitely build based on what cards come at you, like DSF said.
The best thing I've ever done to get better at drafting is to watch videos of people playing online. You can find Khans drafts by Marshall Sutcliffe at mtgoacademy.com and gatheringmagic.com and ones by Reid Duke and LSV (among others) at channelfireball.com.
I've had success with two-colour decks (green + another colour) full of combat tricks in KTK and Dragonscale Boon is particularly good because people attack into your untapped guys without thinking about it. But I do only play Swiss online and at FNM offline and that might make a difference.
I don't pick it highly but I never feel bad about taking it.
