They renamed it because a lot of people got the reference wrong, it was called Atlazan in honor of the ancient city of Aztlan. But tons of people though it would be Atlantis themed XP so they changed it to Ixalan to avoid confusion.
we had seen this decks as 1 with planeswalkers 1 without them for a while, but the last two broke that non written rule
Sorin vs. Tibalt (2013)
Heroes vs. Monsters (2013)
Jace vs. Vraska (2014)
Speed vs. Cunning (2014)
Elspeth vs. Kiora (2015)
Zendikar vs. Eldrazi (2015)
Blessed vs. Cursed (2016)
giving us 2 duel decks without planeswalkers in a row, so...
do you guys think that this one will star some of them? or the latest changes (no more event deck or clash pack) will afect this kind of deck too?
Today's column: Odds and Ends had an interesting answer about the legendary werewolf of innistrad
Lars
maro254 Where is our Legendary Werewolf?
And now we get to the number-one most common question I received. We originally had a legendary Werewolf in the set, but it ended up fighting for the same space that Arlinn Kord wanted, and we really needed Arlinn Kord for planeswalker color balance (more on this in a later question), so the legendary Werewolf unfortunately had to be removed from the set.
note that the post says: removed from the SET, so there is a chance that it got moved tho the second set of the block.
Honest question. We get like 1-2 Jace's planeswalker cards each year and I wonder. Why is this?
I mean, I know that as a card he usually is awesome, but Lore-wise?
Can we get another blue planeswalker that do simillar things? or is Jace so popular that this is never going to happen? (What happened to Tamiyo by the way? )
Ok guys so I woke up this morning and I was thinking about the eldrazis and stuff (correct me if I'm wrong on something =D )
Bolas wanted to release the eldrazi for unknown reasons and we know that they devour mana. They planeswalk but they are not planeswalkers, and they are colorless (all colored mana can become colorless)
So I was thinking, what if the edrazis are what the power of the planeswalkers became after the mending. What if that was the price to pay when they got nerfed?
And that is why bolas want them free, to find a way to kill/absorb one to regain his lost powers
Ok well that's it
(Note.- sorry if I have grammar or spelling errors, English is not my native language xD)
where i live there are no mtg stores, so my magic comunity is a very casual one (we usually buy stuff combining our orders in 1 shipping).
the weirdest thing I saw was a mill deck that after a while used Mnemonic Nexus, so he had to mill you again... and again.. and again. To this day I don't understand the point of this.
Long story short, there is not going to be any more modern pro tours. Because they want to give more atention to standrard.
Are we seeing the slow death of modern?
and seeing the coming confrontation between the two planeswalkers, having the duel deck to represent it is almost a mandatory thing but...
do you think this duel deck will come to life?

Am I hoping too much?
