  • posted a message on Kuldotha Red
I was thinking about making a Kuldotha Red deck for fun for modern, as it is fairly cheap, but had questions over the contents. Obviously, ornithopter, memnte, kuldotha rebirth, bolt, mogg war marshal, bushwacker, maybe a couple of goblin chieftain and goblin grenades, but what about blood moon? I have a couple from Blue Moon, but would blood moon be a good main board cards? My current meta has a couple amulet bloom decks, some tron is also popular, an american control, but there is also a slight merfolk presence and other players which I don't have knowledge of what they play. Would it be worth to it to take the blood moons out of Blue Moon and put them in kuldotha red, or is it a better sideboard card?

  • posted a message on Where to start?
I was starting to do alters and I feel that I am starting to get good enough where I want to start doing commissions and possibly earning some extra money in order to advance my collection, as I just started playing a few months ago, and was wondering where rhe best place to start would be or how to start. Here is a facebook I made with a few alters I made, although I will update it with more alters soon; https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100009898260317&tsid=0.03745732759125531&source=typeahead

  • posted a message on Magic Cards with Real Connections?
Is there any cards that have connections to real life or names of things in real life? For example, Rasputin Dreamweaver, where, in the real life, there was a man named Rasputin that is you know, infamous and stuff. Are there any other cards like that?

First time altering art. Didn't spend a great deal of time on this, spent around 30-45 minutes, including drying time. What do you guys think for my first alter? Any tips that you guys can give that would help alters such as this?

  • posted a message on So why are three color decks referred to by shard or clan names, but two color decks are not called by guild names?
I rarely use guild names, mainly brcause, just because a deck is W/R, doesn't mean the deck is similar to a Boros deck. Plus, I started magic not too long ago, and I never played during the RTR block.

  • posted a message on Declared Attackers and Instants
The phases of combat are as follows:

    Beginning of Combat
Abilities entering combat trigger. Here, or just before this step, is when you would need to tap a creature to prevent it from attacking.
    Declare Attackers
This is where creatures are tapped, attacking a planeswalker or player.
    Declare Blockers
The defending player assigns creatures to block the attacking creatures.
    Damage Step
Damage is dealt by each creature, first strike damage, then afterwards normal combat damage is dealt. You would need to remove the attacking creature from combat before this step in order
To recent damage from being dealt.
    End of Combat

    Hope this helps.

I'm just looking into starting to alter cards, and not having really any art classes or anything, I'm not too knowledgeable in terms of art.
I've painted on canvas before, but that was a few years ago.

Question 1: There is Golden brand paint which I have heard, but there are multiple types of acrylic paint on the website. There is fluid and heavy body. Which is one to use?
Question 2: Also, Golden brand paint seems to be moer expensive then other types of paint. I know paint quality is important, but are the cheaper alternatives viable, or should I just invest now and good the good quality paint?
Question 3: Erasing. Should I do it or not? I heard some people say, just in this thread, that they prefer just using a dark basecoat to hide the parts of the card they want to alter, but some who erase it. If you spend time time to do both, which one is generally better/makes the card look higher quality? What would you recommend?
