That’s interesting you got a little mortar gun every upkeep for nonland permanents
This looks good to me in the Boros Invoke Justice deck. You can cast this off of powerstones, too. Then you can use the discard "drawback" to pitch your Portal to Phyrexia to get back the following turn with IJ.
I was a huge fan of Masticore back in the day, and played it as long as it was legal in the formats I played.
skywarden: looks like Orge resister is now on the Resistance
expand: this is definitely better than Cartographer's Survey your one less deep but you have insurance if you wiff you proliferate on the wiffs and ofcoarse once again explosive vegetation keeps getting worse.
Love Mondrak giving white a little more token tools is cool
I expect this card to carry a lot of value similarly to Anointed Procession. It's more vulnerable as a creature, theoretically, but can also be a commander.
I've been testing a few copies in my Jodah, the Unifier deck. I have Reclusive Taxidermist, Katilda, Dawnhart Prime, and Relic of Legends in there, as it is. Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler could make it that little bit more snowball-y that it needs. One of the problems I consistently find with the deck is that drawing multiple copies of Katilda or Relic kill the tempo of the deck, entirely. This can also trigger Jodah to find legendary creatures and be hit on a Jodah trigger if I cast a 4mv+ legendary spell. I took out a Katilda and a relic for testing, leaving me at 3 Katilda, 2 Relic, and 2 Tyvar. In the twenty or so games I've played with the changes, it's been noticeably less problematic. I'd really have to run another 50+ games to really see if its helping as much as I feel it is and not just experiencing a Good Luck sandwich with a dash of Spicy Bias; but it feels better, so far. I'm hopeful, at least. It's nice that it can also return any 2-drop legend I might want back out of the yard.
Huh, reverse Universes Beyond. Hasn't been as many of those recently.
I had considered the possibility with the friends I play with a few weeks ago because Smite has already crossed over with Transformers which is also under Hasbro as we all know the way they're throwing it all over and MTG feels far more natural.
There have been a few random crossovers in smite across the board of themes though lol
My favorite being TMNT. I love beating up Jormungandr as Michaelangelo. 😁
"and a plus ability that feels like it belongs on a Sorin."
- What? That identical ability appears literally on her first card ever printed. Even her Oath and the ultimate of Orzhov Usurper it's all about drain life. Sure, Sorin also gets drain life effects but never in the form of a pseudo-extort. This ability can't be more Kaya-ish as it gets.
While true, tbf almost everytime I play Kaya, Ghost Assassin in the card shop at least 1 person in the game says they've never heard of the card.
I like this card. I'm definitely going to try it as a one-off in my Orzhov control shell I'm currently playing in Standard. I appreciate the hexproof, and her protection ability lets you get any abilities the card had on a 1/1 flier.
Soulless Jailer also pulls a Drannith Magistrate impression with Urabrask, Heretic Praetor. Your opponent could no longer draw noncreature cards unless they had card draw in hand/on the board, and you would lose the additional draw from Urabrask, but you effectively lock your opponent out of the game.
After waiting over 20 years for a Gix card and now getting the Spheres of Phyrexia as a land type, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed — in a good way. I think it would be awesome in this context, if the `Maze's End` of this land type was something along the lines of:
Heart of New Phyrexia
Legendary Land - Sphere Mythic T: Add C. This mana
be spent as mana of any color when casting Phyrexian
creatures.
During your upkeep, if there are five or
more spheres in your graveyard, you lose the game.
If not and you control nine Spheres with different
names not named Heart of New Phyrexia, you win the game.
"Win or lose, this war ends, today!" — Koth of the Hammer
Obviously templated better, but it would be cool if it played out so that you could be rooting for the Phyrexians or the Mirrans.
I like the idea of turn 1 Teething Wurmlet into turn 2 Skrelv's Hive. Starting on turn 3, it grows the Wurmlet every turn and the life loss is negated.
I think these make a lot of sense actually. Elesh Norn was never supposed to be a brute in combat or anything. She relies on the zealotry and strength of her followers to win. In a one-on-one battle I'd bet on Sheoldred, but Elesh Norn doesn't seem like she would get into that situation. Vorinclex having more keywords also makes sense, he's green—the creature color. Jin-Gitaxias fought with his intellect, again, not really a combat-oriented being. Sheoldred's deathtouch I think makes sense as that she's the black praetor, and she's been depicted both as spider-like and millipede-like—both venomous creatures.
Huh, a more fun variant I guess, but still never the best to let an opponent choose.
Depending on the deck I could see it not mattering. If you can position it in a way such that is a pseudo-Intuition/pseudo-Gifts Ungiven it might not be a big deal. Sure it doesn't tutor, but if I'm playing reanimator, or with cards like Bloodghast/Tenacious Underdog, or even with unearth spells, either way it might work out to be more like drawing 3.5 - 4 cards depending on my graveyard utilization.
However, for being a mythic, this could have had, say, Prototype 4 3/3. I don't think that's too much for a sorcery speed non-land removal (at mythic).
In recent years, this would probably only work if the Prototype cost was 2BG. Meteor Golem works as colorless because its so expensive.
Always looks odd just seeing "Urza's" (with the possessive apostrophe) and nothing after it.
It's an odd place to print it as well but I guess it's the best way to get a card into legacy and nowhere else.
It's so you can have somewhere to put stickers. /s
For real, though, I was excited when I read this, thinking about a pseudo-Cloudpost in Standard could actually help cast all these 8+ mana spells. Then I saw it was a commander card. *WOMP WOMP WOMP*
I agree. I'm always looking for more legends that activate Mox Amber, early, too. A turn one card that can also help ramp is great. Ramping on turn two even let's you cast Sad Robot on turn 3 without any other help. Bloodghast can be sacrificed almost every turn for a powerstone token.
Cards like Lazotep Reaver cover your sacrifice for multiple turns. I'm definitely going to try it.

I think you mean Kuldotha Rebirth not Muldrotha.

Yes, the way it's worded it can be used for cycling, unearth, etc.
