I build and dismantle decks almost weekly to utilize all the key cards I only have one of, and because I'm always wanting to try new things out. So have you considered picking apart what you have in Sidisi for use in Crosis?

As far as actual deck advice goes, my general rule of thumb is if your commander is 6CMC or higher, you have to assume you won't have access to it reliably. If it gets killed a couple times you're looking at a huge mana investment. So for decks like that, I personally focus more on the other 99. If you could never cast Crosis, what would you want you deck to do without him? He himself is discard themed (which never makes friends haha, trust me I know, I've been playing a Nath of the Gilt-leaf deck and I get groans every time people see it) but the deck doesn't have to be themed for him.

Basically ask yourself, what do I want these 99 grixis cards to do? Then build accordingly. It's all personal preference and what you have access to. I personally have only ever built a Thrax deck in grixis, and that was zombie tribal.

Wow, seeing all of those planeswalkers in a list makes me realize how many they've actually printed.

Anyway, to determine which you should play, I'd ask yourself these two questions:

    Can it protect itself?
Do I need other cards to make it good?

If you answer yes to the first one and no to the second, then I'd say go ahead and throw it in. Examples of the PW protecting itself would be ones that make tokens or kill/lock down creatures all by themselves. Tamiyo, the Moon Sage,Ral Zarek, or Sorin, Lord of innistrad are good examples.

If they fail the second question, I'd hesitate to include them. They wouldn't really do enough out there to warrant their inclusion. Domri Rade loves creatures too much, and the Tezzerets want a lot of artifacts (if you're planning on running a lot of artifacts then disregard that). Also Nahiri really excels with a lot of equipment, but if you aren't using a lot, then she's kinda lackluster.

Re: Planeswalkers, I'd say an easy way to pick the keepers is if they make tokens, they're in. Your idea with Reaper King is awesome, so maximize that.

Off the top of my head, some planeswalkers to NOT play would be Liliana of the Dark Realms, Nissa Rivane, Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded, Domri Rade, Garruk, Caller of Beasts ...maybe if you posted a list of your chosen 44 that'd be easier to weed through them.

With all these PWs I hope you're running all the fun proliferate cards like Tezzeret's Gambit, Contagion Engine, or Inexorable Tide.

Just watch out for Æther Snap.

Hello everyone. I'm Nick Wolf and I've written a Commander article over at PucaTrade. I'd love to get your collective opinions on it since A) I've never written about Magic before, and B) I've never interacted with the online Magic community in any official capacity before. I've lurked here on MTGS for several years now, but never felt I had anything worthwhile to contribute to the discussion. Now that I've got an article published, I'm hoping to change that. So head on over there and tell me what you think! Give me encouragement or disparagement (hopefully the former...)

MTG website links are in the form of a bunch of huge rectangles and squares.

Windows 8 and Xbox One "links" are in the form of a bunch of huge rectangles and squares.

I think it has something to do with Washington State. (Not to be confused with DC).

There is a trend with site design lately that encourages that modular block look. Like you mentioned, Microsoft uses it, but it's starting to pick up steam with car radios and other tech as well. If I had to guess I'd say it's probably because of the desire to emulate apps on a phone. Everyone is comfortable with the concept of a grid of apps on an iPhone, so hey, let's make everything all griddy. Kids love grids. If it's good enough for Mendel, it's good enough for end users.

    Maelstrom Nexus as an artifact.

I would play it in every deck.

That would be awesome, but supremely overpowered. I'd play it in every deck too, and use it for a general, and also just keep a copy with my important life documents, like my will and birth certificate, etc.

As far as Commanders go, I really wish, like has been mentioned before, Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient or Slobad, Goblin Tinkerer were not just mono-R. I'd really like to use something like Scourglass with Slobad, for instance.

Also, it'd be amazing if there were a land like Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, but for W. Think of the possibilities! Armored Ascension, Emeria, the Sky Ruin...

My name is Nicholas Wolf. I've lurked on MTGS for several years now, but to be honest, the sheer size and activity of this forum is a bit intimidating. I recently had an article about EDH published at an up and coming trading website, so I thought since I was joining the general online Magic community, I should introduce myself here as well. So I am. Hello.

I've been playing for a very long time, though these days my interests are primarily only Commander and Limited. I can't wait to actually participate in conversations, and not just watch from the shadows like a weirdo.

Is it unwise to hope they reprint the cycle of filterlands from Shadowmoor, like Graven Cairns?
