The Coven from American Horror Story is now in a multiple vs Thread. . . I hated the entire season, even though it had good episodes. . . I was extremely disappointed in the last episode for reasons I won't go into here. It had a kind of interesting premise, except for it's fascination with being dull and dreary. Black and White. . . very old fashioned clothing. . . Also, Papa Legba is supposed to be a good guy, not a bad guy. . .

But erm, the way their supernatural power is represented is interesting. Fiona Goode and, in fact, the whole cast all gave very good performances. I looked at their powers in mind with comparison to other mystics throughout fiction and thought they were threatening enough to pass ass pretty good magicians. For the sake of simplicity, henceforth, all characters in AHS : Coven, are referred to as the Coven when we talk about characters from the show.
So, let's see, in this thread, bring up fictional magi to interact with them. Maleficent, for example, from the movie with her namesake. Characters from various Fantasy Movies, Merlin from Excalibur, and Dresden Files all count. Maybe some psionic characters too, or psionic/mystic like characters such as Jedi and Sith. For the battle with the Coven, you can choose something like an extremely powerful rival against all of them, or maybe less powerful rivals in pairs of two, groups of three, etcetera.
A good fight against them might be something like Dark Willow, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
There's plenty of examples we could choose from.
So. . . um, for the first battle, I suggest Darth Sidious vs The Coven. The Coven specfically, unless we need to include all the characters from the Season against him.
Fiona Goode looks powerful enough to take him down, especially if she's pre-cancer. Having many of the powerful witches against him could force him to use the light saber, which no witch has much of a defense against, not even Fiona Goode. Technically Sidious is stronger in mysticism, but Fiona isn't limited to just telekinesis, she also has pyrokinesis.
