You're a bit cold to Worship and Blood Moon I've noticed, really just Thoughtseize to answer them? I side a Golgari Charm, occasionally a Wear/Tear or Destructive Revelery. I've often considered the sideboarded Forest, but never felt it would be worth it's own slot in the side. I'm more concerned with Ghost Quarter than PtE really. I run into the occasional DnT style decks. Do you think it's worth the slot, having played with it?

Hi there, I wanna play this deck, is this post dead or something? I think this deck will be fine on the new meta, aff, infect etc will be the tier decks to beat, and this removal bassed deck seems awesome there Smile

I'm going to be playing this tomorrow at my local event, will report back. Running a list very close to OP but with 2 Moons in the main.

I've been playing this deck at my local store for a while, and it's pretty much a perfect metadeck for the store. Had a lot of success with the deck there over the last month. There's lots of Twin Scapshift and BGx, as well as non-tier decks and we just tear through all that stuff. There's also very little Affinity or Burn which is perfect. I think that Matsugan's list is very well built and mine is within 3 cards of that main list (with sideboard tuned to local store)

What is anyone's thought on the protection spells? I've played with Faith's Shield a bit and did not like that card as white mana can be a bottleneck. I think Apostle's Blessing may be the best of the protection variants, but currently I've opted to run 2 Thoughtseize main instead of any protection spell.

I've seen some people run Kher Keep and i had one Yesterday from a friend. Now my question is, what to cut? 1 Desolate Lighthouse and go 1/1? Or do i play with 3 colorless sources? (Im on UR with standard list).

3 colorless lands is pretty common. I consider Loothouse a core piece of the deck so I'd recommend 2. I'd be interested to hear how Kher Keep works, seems good against Lilly/Tarmo beats

I actually played against Living End this weekend. I feel like the key to winning this match is to never play more than 2 land at a time and to load only about 5 damage on your boggle. Rancor is the best in this situation since you won't lose them. After that just keep attacking and make them go for the living end. I feel like holding a Spiritdancer is the best tool against this match up.

Dromokas command is a great tool against burn. It gets rid of Eidlon, Stops a spell, can fight a creature to gain life then attack giving us double life gain in a turn.

I'm still a huge backer of Dromokas Command. It has never felt like a dead card to me.

I'm on the route of getting rid of Suppression Field as well. It seems really weak and slows us down so much. I'm thinking of maybe adding Mana Tithe in its place. I feel like it would be helpful against alot of decks, it may be mediocre compared to a stronger card that has a more domianant effect but I really like cards that work in multiple match ups versus one really good card for one match up.

What else is D Command good against? We already have a good Burn matchup as is. I've played Mana Tithe before, and it's really good I think - basically the best Mana Tithe deck possible IMO. Most decks only have 2-3 cards that matter against us, and they want to play those on curve every time. The only exception I guess would be Wurmcoil but we have Path and evasion anyway.

    Hey guys.

So my dad is building bogles for his first modern deck and decided to put in the ledgewalkers over kor spirit walkers which I'm a fan of ledgewalkers since my local meta is very removal heavy more than less. My friend however told me (keep in mind he's never played the deck before he's just only seen reid duke play it) that ledgewalker is horrible and just to play spirit dancer instead without giving me a reason besides "It's bad" Which do you guys prefer? I honestly like the ledgewalkers because we're kind of on a budget, but also because there's a bunch of removal in my local meta where the hexproof is just really relevant. Thanks for the info!

I think it's perfectly valid to build the deck without Spiritdancers, and that's how I have my setup currently. I'm running 3 Ledgewalkers instead and it's working out very well. This allows us to blank entirely our opponents removal, and generally they can't even side it all out because they don't have enough cards to bring in. Ledgewalker also does a lot of great things like being basically unblockable speeds up our clock, having more hexproof bodies to protect against Lilly and such. Another thing if you draw the Ledgewalker later you can chip in freely.

Played the deck last night at the local event, went 3-1 winning all 3 2-0 and losing to Merfolk 1-2, but still getting 1st place on breakers. The deck is still awesome, and the new mull rule is great for us. I'm playing a list very close to Dan Ward's OKC with no Spiritdancers and loving it. I played a really fun game against Jund where I mulled to 5, keep a no lander with a Leyline and creature but couldn't draw a land for ~5 turns. He couldn't draw anything relevant either, just Lillys, discard spells and then tried to beat me down with a Fulminator Mage. I eventually found the lands and he could never answer the leyline, so I beat him down with a 3/3 Ledgewalker. Even fetched up Arbor to speed up my clock.

Really excited to pick the deck back up with the new mulligan rule, and also we got some new toys finally! Nobody is really talking about Glaring Aegis here, but I think it's fine as 1-of. I'm configuring mine very close to what Dan Ward was doing, except I will probably leave the Suppression Fields to the sideboard. I'd love to run maybe a 1/1 split of D Commands if they are as good as some people say.

Noticed a lot of people asking about running the deck with no Canopies -- I'd probably run 1 less land and just run the 8 Green fetches if you have them. There's no need for Brushland IMO, with better options available. By all means if that helps you put the deck together because you already have brushlands or whatever then go for it. Likewise for City of Brass, Confluence or even Gemstone Mine is playable I think. Canopy really needs a reprint, this is just obscene. It's the most valuable card I own I believe...

If you frequently run into Bloom Titan I would recommend keeping the Counterflux, as it's the only card to break up a Hive Mind kill. I have 1 Counterflux and 2 Dispel in my board personally.

I'm amused someone finally played that guy, and proceeded to beat him. Cheerio

Anyway played locally last night to a 3-1, lost to my testing partner on UR Twin for 1st place. Takes me to 6-1 against UR Twin in competitive play. Death's Shadow was amazing like people have said. I beat Green Devotion, Bloom Titan and RUG Delver only dropping 1 game total which was to Green. This deck is awesome.. I switched from 2 Remand and 1 Deprive to 1 Remand 2 Deprive. I'll write more later =) peace

HI guys, I am currenly running a quite common list of this deck (but without the shoal). What can we do against Collected company/Melira decks? It seems a very difficult match up due to kitchen finks and voice of resurgence! Any advices? thanks a lot!

I've only played against the deck once, it was pretty difficult and annoying at points. If you can get a quick start and tempo them out it's not too bad, but if it goes longer you will run out of counterspells and removal. There's plenty of sideboard tech if you want to go that route, like Anger, Magma Spray, and a card I have in my board is Hibernation. It seemed to be fairly even to me, I did win the best of 3 in the end.

I wrote about Jund a few pages back, in that I found it to be a swingy match up but favorable overall for us. Reduce your exposure to Abrupt Decay by removing some Pyros and maybe a Delver, as they will be bringing in all the Decays they have. I don't mind going late and grindy with Jund as long as the board stays mostly clear and you have answers in hand. Sometimes that just doesn't happen though. Tasigur is the primary win-con for me here, as they mostly have Bolts/Decays and can't deal with him. Jund has openings that we can't beat, which is just how it goes. Inquisitions turn 1 and 2, into Lilly will probably beat most decks in the format - ours included. You should be able to take advantage of their man lands, as they man up aggressively. Also stop telling yourself it's a bad matchup, that isn't helping. This deck can beat anything..

What are people's thoughts on thispyro-less version that went 7-1 in the Modern portion of the Invitational. I played something like it for a few weeks and liked it a good amount. I've never liked that Young Pyromancer is a terrible top-deck late in the game. This version like it was more solidly in between control and aggro and had an easier time changing gears.

I've been running Pyro-less for quite a while, recently started trying him as 1-of but not really liking it. It doesn't fit well with my play style I believe. Most likely I will cut the single Pyro.
