Double.
Once I made the switch to double sleeving...I can't hardly imagine going back. Plus perfect fit inner sleeves have dropped in price over the last few years which is great. I use to pay almost $6 for a pack at my local, now I'm only paying half that.
Ballista is simply a better modal Spell than Hangarback.
Oh no question about that.
Though there are times when I just simply want blockers. I'm not worried about killing their creatures as much as I'm worried about them smacking me in the face. If I can just have another 2 or 3 turns I can get to my ugin and wipe the board...or slaver lock, or whatever.
I'd never argue that hangar back over all is better than ballista...no...but I'm just saying once in a great while it seems more helpful for specific situations.
So...should I be embarrassed that I still kinda like Hangarback Walker?
Eventually I want to play 1x Walking Ballista and 1x Torrential Gearhulk...but I don't really plat mtg right now, so I'm waiting for these 2 to rotate out of standard later this year to pick them up.
Meanwhile I'm running 2x hangarbacks...and dang...I'm actually really liking them!
I am running trinket mage as well as a tolaria west that can fetch them as well.
But it's a fantastic card vs. aggro and midrange. He's almost never a win con for me...if anything, he's just a win more when I'm able to drop him with a ton of +1/+1's...but what he's great at is dropping early game with just 1 or 2 +1/+1's. Early when I'm just trying to last long enough to start gaining control.
He can single handedly put a stop to my opnents attacks for several turns. And when he dies...he just comes back with even more blockers! And he can grow so when they do finally kill him...
He's just been doing a lot for me.
I might actually try out 1x walking + 1x hangarback eventually.
Am I just a complete noob? lol...everyone's moved on from hangarback (which I understand. Ballista is ABSOLUTELY the better card of the 2 in a vacuum).
The first card I was dying to own was Shadowmage Infiltrator haha. Way back when it first released I was so excited about the dang thing...I thought it was just about the coolest thing that not only did Finkel design it, but that he was in the image itself.
I kinda like these now! lol...I'd consider picking a couple up just to have...though I'd likely still use my card tokens 99% of the time. I'd only ever use the dice to show it off.
Still...you're asking $27 for 6 of these (shipped to the usa)...which is just too steep for me. I'd be far more interested if I could just buy 1 or 2 of them at a time, and if they didn't cost me $4.50 a die.
I know you don't like Meditation Puzzle but I think it's probably a better card than Courier Griffin.
Griffin can help you win the game though. Puzzle is only going to stall a bit.
Also, Nyx-Fleece Ram is a good card, I'd definitely be running the extra you have in your deck.
This is going to sound really harsh...
But I'd look to get out of this deck if I were you. Depending on if you plan on continuing to pursue magic as a hobby...I think you'd be much better off ditching this idea, and moving onto a different deck. There's TONS of great white decks out there...including some really cheap ones. Use these forums and google and you'll find tons of lists.
I just don't think this deck is ever going to prove to be strong enough for you and will hold you back, which will hinder the enjoyment for this game you have.
Life gain decks such as this one just aren't that strong. Life gain like this...doesn't win you games. It only prolongs the game a bit.
That isn't to say there isn't strong life gain decks out there.
You can google search 'soul sisters deck' for an example. It's even mono white which you seem to like (I do too! Mono white was my first deck I built!).
Anyhow, I'm not trying to be rude or mean or anything. I just don't think you'll find this deck ever proving to be that competitive for you and think you'll have a much more enjoyable time with this game if you don't sink all your time and money into a deck that just wont ever provide.
I collect cards with cute artwork...I've got hundreds of them lol. I don't even want to admit to how much time I've spent looking through old sets for cute artwork.
But I agree...this game could use more cute cards :).

lol no. I'm not that clever!
Santa Claus isn't real???
Santa Claus
Anyone know anything about it? Is it a physical card? Or is it just an image of a card they use as a symbol that someone has sent a secret santa gift?
I'm just curious!
