What? How would that be done? An "oloro-like" continious effect while in the command zone as they could not be casted? To make a cicle of those would mean terrible balancing issues.
Touché! I went for alliteration in a vain attempt at humor.
I have to admit that "beacker breaker" wuold indeed be a funny name, maybe one day we'll get a mad scientist legendary card named "(something) the beacker breaker" and then I'll have to make a deck just to say this name aloud to my opponents.
Here in Italy (CEST time zone) the Mothership usually is updated around 5 PM. I hope some other site around the world is getting some early spoilers! I've waited way too long!
We are in the same boat man, it's a matter of hours. So excited.
Just a reminder: Lightning Bolt isn't the only removal that is played in modern, yes it's very strong but what about Path to Exile, Terminate, Dismember and other similar cards?
You have also to consider that your deck is "boltproof" only if you've got an Honor of the Pure on the battlefiled, and you only play 2 of them.
The fact that in the late game colorless mana is almost useless got me thinking about removing Sol Ring.
From personal experience Call to Mind and similar are pretty good and can "storm" even with few cards: storm card n°1-> Call to Mind picking the same card -> storm card n°2 (storm card copied 3 times) it's good for me, but I also play against Nekusar (I can't shape my hands after 2 or 3 wheels) so getting spells back from the graveyard while getting EXP counters and growing the storm count it's a great play.
If Commander is for "new" players then what magic sets are for experienced players? I guess we just don't get any then.
Sealed decks are for "new" players, because they are an entry product for whatever format they are build for. Precon commanders are used to get to play new players to commander and also to make some cards that enfrachised players would like. Take a look on the new "Planeswalker decks" they are for new players, "precon commander decks" are similar but as the format is different they contain a different selection of cards (more rares, exclusive cards and a different power level). The only preconstructed decks that weren't for new players were the "tournament-ready decks" (or whatever they were called).
So let me repeat myself another time: Commander (the format) is not for new players (I don't think a new player should start from this format to play magic) while "preconstructed commander decks" are used to get players who know magic to play another format, in this case commander.
And to answer your question magic set are not just for beginner or experienced players as they are not a format, they create formats when they are used together (stadard, modern, ...) so both a beginner and an experienced player coud get a booster pack.
The "co-commanders" idea it's intresting but i doubt that we will get something similar as it would be too complex for new players, just imagine one thing: the two commanders would be counted as one card or as two? (99 + 2 or 98 + 2).
While this is an intresting article what seems missing is the fact that as boxes/boosters are opened, and singles are sold, the prices will drop.
Will an Imperial Recruiter keep his 70$ price tag after a week? And after a month?
Correct!
I believe it's now your turn.
Pretty sure I butchered a good piece of art.
My guess is Gift of Estates, also my first try here,
It's more like "flask breaker", a beaker it's more like a glass (a cilinder with open on the top).
