Didn't think my deck was great, but just wanted something that sidesteps the land rule and leyline. Didn't really think about how everyone will be able to deal with infinite life eventually : P
vs. 01 Madmanquail: Council stops my beatdown, Leyine stops my lands, 0-6
vs. 02 nerdyjoe: Mox lets your beast stop my combo, even on the draw. you should win the ping each other race because of elixer. 0-6
vs. 04 WhammeWhamme: Infinite life loses to infinite damage. 0-6
vs. 05 tomsloger: I can combo off, but can't kill you, so you win eventually. 0-6
vs. 06 xStormaggedonx: I think I win. On my second turn, I can get to 4 permanents, which means you can't combo without my killing your phyrexian. I can wait until turn 4 to combo off, leaving 3 lands, and shuko untapped to ping you, and gain a massive amount of life. then I just keep 4 permanents up at all times, while dealing 20 with the lands. 6-0
There's no water (the card isn't blue, or colourless for that matter), but, honestly, the original art doesn't provide a lot of clues about what's going on.
Interesting tid-bit: Birds of Paradise art was actually intended to be art for volcanic island. The strange composition made them ask for it to be recommissioned, and they came up with BoP's rule text on the spot.
I totally forgot leyline stops you getting 3 tokens. that does tilt things in my favor.
if you play primus blowing up a land, i'll exile him (so i don't lose a second permanent), then one of your lands at the end of my turn, so that play doesn't work. as you said, the 5/5 token doesn't get there.
now the problem is, i actually have to some how present a threat to stop a stalemate. i think my best play is opening with inkmoth nexus, and not playing my other two lands. you now have two options. you can play woodfall primus. if you do, you'll destroy inky and hit me for 6 damage. but THEN, at the end of your turn, your primus will die, and take one of your lands with him. the only way you can save your land is by stifling your primus trigger
on my turn, i can play karakas, then jet. at the end of your second main phase, i play ashen rider. if you respond with wurm, you'll get a 5/5, but lose a land. if you don't, you just lose a land. this seems pretty good for me, except there aren't actually enough permanents for me to recast rider 4 times.
long story short: there's a lot of lines of play, but i think 2-2 is right
2 - 0-6:
turn 1 stone rains are pretty hard to contend with. i can only stop wurm if i get some mana sources in play, which exposes me to primus blowouts.
3 - 6-0:
you have to tap out to play azorious guildmage, which means you can't activate it the same turn you play it. this makes your deck weak against karakas
if you play guildmage turn 1, i drop karakas, and bounce it while you are tapped out. next turn, you can recast guildmage, and i will bounce it, play inkmoth then play moxjet, which i can pay for with inkmoth. now i should be able to win with inkmoth or by exiling your mana base whiel keeping guildmage off the board.
4 - 1-4:
when i'm on the play, i can put ashen rider into play in response to you casting black lotus. if you try to play supression field, ashen rider will exile it at the end of my turn. instead, i let my ashen rider die, targeting your black lotus. this means you are only able to ever get supression field or priest out. you can't protect priest from karakas without field, so you have to play field, and the game ends a draw
when you're on the play you win.
5 - 2-2:
a turn slower than whammewhamme, but stifle makes that not really matter
EDIT: this is a stalemate match because i can stop him killing me but can't kill him if i do.
8 - 6-0:
ashen rider should stop you ever getting two lands in play, and karakas doesn't help
9 - 2-2:
there may be a way i can win this if i can cause tom to lose a mana source, then i should win. unfortunately, if he plays no cards, i can't do much. if i just start dropping ashen rider EOT, i have to start eating permanents. eating both leylines only results in 10 damage, and turns karakas off
i also can't win if my inkmoth nexus dies, so i can't put it into play. i think it ends in a stalemate
10 - 6-0:
in order for you to get emmy under shelldock isle, you have to empty your hand, which means, when i'm on the play, i can bounce containment, and exile shelldock during your upkeep.
when i'm on the draw, i can still protect myself from emmy with karakas. if you cast him on your second turn, i bounce him in your extra turn, taking 4 damage frmo your containment priest
that should be enough disruption to keep you from getting emmy in play, which means i can pick apart your pemarnents and win
Disputes:
Chess_76: 1-4 instead of 0-6. I tie Chess_76 when I'm on the play, by cheating in ashen rider in response to him casting his first lotus.
