Is this playable as just anti-burn tech or as an anti-aggro SB card?

Absolutely. Yoked Ox was reasonable technology against the R/G aggressive strategies.

You are overreaching a great deal. Basically none of those are re-printable for a number of reasons, not the least of which is balance. Mirari is block specific, cascade isn't in the set, coming back, Jace already exists, Skullclamp isn't ever going to be see standard again.

It's likely a playable durdly value card like Electrolyze, Explore, Mana Leak, Faith's Fetters, Preordain, or Spreading Seas. Something like that.

The only card you listed I could remotely see is a new Pernicious Deed with "non-land permanents" or "non-enchantment permanents", something like that.

Spite seems like a good Flame Slash variant to me, solid option for RUG Delver.

"You" don't destroy all creatures with Wrath of God. The game state does when the card is cast. Godsend actually says, "you exile the creature." You are specifically exiling a creature that has protection from you. Again, not saying you are wrong, just saying it is unintuitive.

The game rules aren't doing anything when a Wrath destroys creatures. It's the Wrath directly destroying the creatures and the Wrath is a source you control. TNN protects not just from the player but also from "sources they control" this means that the distinction between your card doing the action and you doing the action is meaningless.

I fully understand the rules behind why it works the way it works. I'm saying the rules don't make sense here. Read the cards. TNN gives protection from "you." "You" exile the creature. Yes, you are right that it does exile TNN, but it's a rules fail in this instance based on how the cards actually read.

No, you don't understand. The rules are clear. TNN isn't invincible from everything the targeted player does. It can't be targeted by that player or any permanents that player controls, it can't be dealt damage by that player or any permanents that player controls, and it can't be blocked by creatures the player controls. It still dies to Wrath of God, Engineered Explosives, Engineered Plague, Drown in Sorrow. It can be chosen by Godesend and Phantasmal Image just like Hexproof creatures.

Choosing is not targeting, it's not unintuitive at all. It's worded specifically on purpose.

It's really only between the 2 uncommon tribute guys. The Rare is a mid pick at best.

it reduces variance, that's generally a good thing. It's much more fun and interactive when decks can consistently cast their spells.

    AGH!

I saw uu mana cost and thought "Finally a good counterspell!".
Then I read the thing :-/.

    Come on wizards!

Why don't we have this yet:

    UU
    Instant
Counter target spell with cmc 3 or less.

    or

    U
counter target spell with cmc 2 or less.

But no we will get a harder to cast essence scatter that can hit an unused card type. Fantastic.

(just wanted to note here that I don't play standard and I could care less about it, we need these in modern)

    Prohibit already exists.

Spell Snare is already absurdly good.

All they had to do was make it UU remove soul scry 1 and it's playable, almost every aura is a creature in standard anyways.

If your deck runs Sol Ring, it is not casual.

This isn't true, you know there's some DnD/star trek all-star out there with his deck full of random old jank and 4 sol ring's, which would be absolutely casual. Casual doesn't solely equate to dollar bin rares, awful 3 or 4 card combo's, voltron, and mill decks.

There's also random old guy that complains about mythics being too expensive/overpowered but plays 4 sol ring and 4 mind twist and doesn't think twice, both are casual players.

Why is it too much? Normal reanimation costs 5 nowdays. This is instant and has the scry option. Instant reanimation is also a really sweet combat trick.

normal reanimation costs 4, Zombify. Unburial Rites cost 5 because it also had flashback, Obzedat's Aid costs 5 because it can get non-creature permanents, Call of the Underworld costs 5 because it does a lot of extra weird ****.

It's likely a 6 mana spell unless they wanna do a 2 mana spell, they could do a Diabolic Edict/Cruel Edict scry 2, but that's too pushed and unlikely since there's already a 2 mana edict out.

I don't see Night's Whisper/Sign in Blood since Underworld Connections, Read the Bones already exist.

I'm guessing a Haunting Hymn like card, perhaps Mind Shatter (clearly not at instant speed if same cost) maybe an XBB reanimation spell or XBB drain life effect. Profane Command gives a lot of ideas

I think it will be an X spell.

Yea remember when everyone was saying ZOMG PRE-BAN TEMPORAL MASTERY and how Vexing Devil was "HOLY **** WTF POWER CREEP LOL GG WIZARDS" and not even talking about Bonfire of the Damned, Angel of Serenity, and claiming Restoration Angel was "too slow and too low impact"? Nobody even talked about Delver of Secrets, people thought Geist was "easy to block"

Remember when Sphinx's Revelation was a 5 dollar mythic because everyone said "it's just worse than Blue Sun's Zenith since it isn't a win condition and you don't get it back"?

The majority of people on this website can't evaluate cards for ****, there aren't very many great cards spoiled so far, but it's just over 1/3 of the set, hardly enough to claim it's jank.

It's a very good card for Legacy, but it's not going to be expensive. It's extremely comparable to Thalia who is 2-4 dollars.

Is it possible to lose in limited if you have this?

Also, this works super well with purphoros. This + Elspeth is the most annoying token deck of all time (hyperbole).

Only if it dies, or you are being raced by efficient flyers, I can't imagine another way, assuming some absurd bomb doesn't come down that makes attacking non-profitable.

This is a format defining creature however. I've said that 3 times that I can recall, Restoration Angel, Snapcaster Mage, and Thragtusk (you would not believe the lack of enthusiasm for these initially from far too many people, for how "obviously good" those cards were). This isn't any of those, but this is a Boros Reckoner/Thundermaw Hellkite kind of good.

With Spear of Heliod and Brave the Elements, this thing is going to be a ***** to deal with. It even survives Elspeth's "wrath" -_- even tho it technically hits for 4.
