I like vulture headed raptors, especially if they were on a black card. Considering we know very little of how the flesh actually hung on dinosaurs they can really customize them to fit the colors they are supposed to be a part of which I think is great. Though it does look like they went a little overboard with feathers...
I'm pretty sure the art is supposed to be Norse since she seems to be riding a Caribou across a snowy field. Maybe the eventual Norse set will have Divinity again? Since they will have gods after all.
Why not Lizard folk lol or would Games Workshop get a little hissy?
Actually a "Road to El'Dorado" land would be cool and fun with land ramp strategies. Search for maybe 8 lands "Blank of ...El Dorado" then they merge to form the city that's an alt win con. Like the gates and Maze's End
Regarding Lizardfolk, DnD has used it for decades (might have popularized it as a villain race), and GW couldn't do squat about it. And the last time they went to bat for "Space Marines" they lost big time.
And El Dorado sounds like it'd be a fun alt win con, though I hope it wouldn't be a copy past of Dragon's maze.
I feel like an El Dorado land could involve gold tokens, like this:
El Dorado, the Golden Mystery
Land t: add 1 to your mana pool.
2t: Put a gold token into play with "Sacrifice: Add 1 color of any mana to your mana pool."
Then if you control 8 or more gold token you win the game.
It could also be kind of an Arc world, like it flooded and the pirates and such are remnants of the races who survived, maybe in the second set they find a way to drain the world revealing ancient cities, feel a little more adventury like original Zendikar.
W/B is reserved for sorin's oath for sure.
And don't forget W/R for nahiri.
And U/G for kiora.
And while we are musing why not G/B for garruk
EDIT:
U/B for ashiok! :3
Wasn't Sorin killed by Nahiri on Innistrad?
Imprisoned in stone while still alive, being constantly inflicted enough pain so that he can't concentrate enough to planeswalk away (if I'm not mistaken)
So that eventually he will break free and become mardu Sorrin Enraged! or something bad will happen and Tamiyo will go and get him to help save the multiverse etc.
Declaration in Stone has only one target. The other creatures with that name aren’t targeted. For example, a creature with hexproof will be exiled if it has the same name as the target creature. So you will take 9 damage because you targeted 1 dragon and triggered all the other dragons.
I don't understand why people think this will survive getting back to your turn. It comes out too late to be a 1/1. If you are countering kill spells you'll just have an empty hand on your turn and maybe a 7/7 bird? If your lucky? Finally it will swing and get chipped by a thopters or killed by other fliers. This thing is depressing. I was excited to see another bird commander too.
I'm gonna go with something really crazy, in the set there would be God cards as many speculate, however they say on them, "If X God is in your opening hand, you may begin the game with it on the battlefield." Then have a land that similar to the commander land, taps for any color of a god you have in play. The gods could have small bonuses like the leylines but be indestructible.
Otherwise the lands could be temples to specific gods and only tap if that god was in play.
Have you got any idea just how broken your God suggestion is?
In what way? Your assuming they are creatures I guess? They would be like the leylines, and maybe like Theros they would have the ability to become creatures at some point. If your thinking they are op because the lands come into play untapped, well only if you manage to get 1 of the 4 copies of a legendary card into play and then you have 3 other most likely dead cards that no older format would play anyway. So no I do not see them as being broken anymore than fastlands and leylines.
I hope personally that we get some interesting cards that may replace other cards that we have been waiting for reprints for. For instance instead of Damnation we get something like:
Wrath of the Damned 2WB
Destroy all creatures they cannot be regenerated.
Just so we can have some of the fun of the missing reprints.
Maybe make it cost WBR or something and add some sort of damage clause just so we can outclass Damnation and not effect Modern.
I don't think you could get all 4 colors into it without it seeming like a crazy mess of a card though.
You wouldn't need to worry about it affecting Modern... New cards in Commander sets aren't Modern legal. They're Legacy legal. Same with any new supplemental products that have new cards. Only cards that have been legal in standard can ever be Modern legal, barring any rules changes.
I meant because you could print it here it would be safe for modern...
And yes it was purely hypothetical and I wasn't trying very hard, though I would actually love a inexpensive b/w field clear.
