The End of an Era

I didn't like the sudden transition from 3rd person to 2nd person. It was too jarring and could have been handled better. That said, the 3rd person part was good. I personally really dislike 1st person stories, so this wasn't my cup of tea, but I will recognize it was well written and in character.

I really liked the imagery of Tamiyos face just piping up in Jace mind, that whole paragraph was my favorite, followed by the passage where he plays stepping stones.

New story was really good, I think if this became the minimum quality and length for all future stories I'd be really happy. Chandra was hilarious, ugin was funny and interesting, each character had something resembling development and a plot arc. This was really good. Best part was probably the second half of Ugin's passage, especially when he goes down to all 4, snorts, and leaves. He pretty much said Well, I can't deal with these millenia and left.

The raven man has notably appeared other places as well, recently on ravnica, where he convinced her not to go fight the eldrazi.

Very early to be wondering about this, but I always like the black on black promos, even if I cant shell out enough to get them. With the loss of core sets, we won't have one set with 5 walkers to make a kit from. If they do do it this year, I expect it will either be:
    1. BFZ's Nissa and Gideon, OGW's Chandra, SOI block's Jace, and possibly Liliana or whatever black planeswalker features in SOI block (probably Liliana) OR if a black planeswalker doesn't join the gatewatch, I expect someone else will, and they will be included. One other possibility for this idea is that it will just be the Gatewatch 4 we have now, if no one new joins the gatewatch, gets an oath card, AND gets a planeswalker card by the ens of the SOI block.

    2. Another possibility I considered was them reprinting 5 mono colored planeswalkers from older sets, for whatever reason, but I think this is unlikely.

    3. And then of course there is the option that they just won't do one at all, but that would disappoint me.

    Opinions?

Lily is not going to appear in SOI block because logic. Let me explain.:

Lily is done with Innistrad, she killed Griselbrand, which was the only reason she went there to begin with. She still has two other demons to go before she is free of them.
Half the plane wants her dead, including one of the oldest and most powerful planeswalkers in existence.
The Demons of Innistrad wants her dead because she released Avacyn from the Helvault.
The Majority of the Humans on Innistrad wants her dead because she broke the Helvault and killed half of Thraben.
The Remaining Humans wants her dead because she broke the Helvault and released Avacyn.
The Vampires wants her dead because she released Avacyn.
The Angels want her dead because she released the demons from the Helvault and killed half of Thraben.
Sorin wants her dead because she threatened the vampires of Innistrad's primary food source. The only reason he doesn't actively track her down and kills her is because she also released Avacyn, but if they cross paths, he *will* kill her. Sorin neither forgives nor forgets.
Thus going back to Innistrad would be very uncharacteristic of Lily.

Now that said, I think that if they do make black on black Promos this year at SDCC, option #1 is the most likely, with Lily getting replaced by either Ob Nixilis or the new Sorin we are likely to get in SOI block.

Very true, I hadn't considered that she was done with innistrad. I do remember that the Raven Man may have showed up on innistrad, and Jace IS going there, so I figured she may pop up in the block. That said, I do agree your idea is more likely, especially if we see Sorin take an oath in the next block. If we do, I believe we'll probably get sorin's card and oath in the 2nd set of the block, as that's when we would have normally gotten the core set, and it would coincide with all 5 cards for the set having been printed. Thank you for your input.

Well it was entertaining and we'll written, but I do agree with the other - it is a bit uninspired.

Is Kiora claustrophobic or is she just irritated for being out of her comfort zone? I sympathize with the former but if it's the latter, stop your whining you big fry.

You can pretty much infer her claustrophobia, if you've experienced it yourself, it's rather telling. Not to mention crawling through caves isn't for anyone who isn't a pro. Jori was questioning why she was needed and that passage made it clear, being a ruin diver and all.

I wouldn't assume she's claustrophobic. I've been caving in similar (nat AS bad) situations and that's a pretty standard reaction. It's not fun feeling rock everywhere all at once.

Trifling elf, your arrogance will be your undoing! Nissa probably thought she had killed Ob, because she caved him in. Had he not been a massive demon, it probably would have. Perhaps she didn't check because she was destracted by being reconnected to Zendikar. You face OnNixilis, Ereder Lord of the Black Oath!

You people are ALWAYS so cynical when it comes to these stories. This was good. Really good. It was fun to read, all the characters were handled well (except for Noyan Dar) everything made sense for the most part, and even then, if you have to suspend your disbelief for a little bit because that makes it more entertaining to read, that's intentional. The story was suspenceful, exciting, and a good read. I can't find any problems with this one, and it's probably my second favorite or favorite UR.

And for what it's worth, I really like Kreines writing. Every story she's written for BFZ has been an enjoyable read, am that's what I think is most important in a story like this.

Next time in return to return to ravnica...!

Well written, Tajik was hillarigreat. I wasn't excited for the inevitable ravnica UR but this wasn't bad. Would have liked to see the bug guy.

She left Jund and went to Grixis. She could have made a new "life" there for herself, but she decided to go back and exterminate her clan because she had a personal grudge against them, in particular Kael (and red is the color that places the highest value on family/friendship):
In the madness, she hunted for one face in particular. She wanted to make sure he didn't die at the anonymous hands of a Borrowed. She wanted to see his face, to witness his fear, to make him regret.

Her whole revenge seems very emotionally driven. Hence red. A blue character wouldn't go "You tried to kill me, therefore I will devote years of my life solely to ensuring I can enjoy the look on your face as you realize how wrong you were to have wronged me." As far as that goes, she also doesn't seem to have thought through this "destroy all the green magic in Jund" thing.

That exactly is what a blue person WOULD do. You don't have to be red to feel and act on emotion, all colors have feelings. After having been cruelly betrayed, she's now wanting revenge out of emotion, she wants revenge out of a feeling of malice. And I don't think she's trying to destroy all green mana on Jund at all. She wants to destroy the religion on Jund that tried to destroy her.

I think you could justify her revenge as being green. Remember she is from Jund, not earth. Predation IS the natural way. She's hunting and killing them because she wants to and because on Jund, it's only natural that the strong hunt the weak. I see no red. Perhaps, if she had grown up on Earth, that'd be red. Also remember they forced many 12 year old children into taking this test and many died. Her revenge is more then justified, as far as she's concerned, they tried to kill her.

Not bad, although I'm a little surprised they didn't find a way to include more then 1 legend in it.

I'd like to point out that the "Sharods over Innistrad" Is literally written in moon. Tamiyo? Werewolves? What does it mean?

This one was really good. Now I'm excited to see the battle with ulamog, but I guess they timed the 2 C15 URs really well because the suspense they're causing to build is going to make this great.
