Kira does nothing to protect Image.
Monastery Siege is maybe the best sideboard card we have against burn and attrition matches, I would find some slots.

Triton Tactics and Refocus are strictly better if you want that effect.
And even those are not played a bunch.

I can't remember the last time Battlewise got sided out. His interaction with Defiant Strike is a thing of beauty Smile so Iroas always takes the bullet.
Anyway, most of the decks have some kind of removal but that doesn't mean we have to side in Cruises and all the counters and Glares.
Our main is strong enough that we don't have to dilute our plan to combat theirs. Few cards here and there should be enough. Let them worry about us.

Most people doesn't even know the card exist, let alone play around it.
Your scenario have a Hero ready to receive Ordeal blessing and your opponent is tapped out.
    Yeah...

I have to disagree with 4 Form being a must.
Form is a card that we don't need before turn 3-4+ and don't need 2 in starting hand which is a possibility for a 4-of.
Our deck has something like 25 draw/scry cards and no deck filters better (other than Jeskai Ascendancy combo) than we do, we will find it when necessary.
Even if we don't find it, Willing and Resistance could be proxy for that one last push.
Form isn't even good in some matchups.
I played Pilgrim for some months and my tutor targets were: Ordeal of Thassa large percentage of time, followed by Ordeal of Heliod and Form as distant third.
Great card (well, in context of our deck), but not a 4-of quality.

Mize list is cool but it can be improved.
5 "unblockable" auras is too much with only 16 creatures that he runs. With all the drawing and scrying, a combination of 3 should be perfect.
4 Ordeal od Heliod is also at least one too many. I would rather have my Fabled Hero, Battlewise or Seeker survive with Ephemeral Shields then gain 10 life.
Those are the only changes I would make in his main.

Yes, 3 Cruise is not good, 2 card combination of Cruise-Dig-blue Siege should be our "grind" package.
Not sure about Valorous Stances, Glare is better sideboard card.
Not blown away by Stance in general. I don't need to remove Polukranos if I expect that my creature will be bigger, I can't target Stormbreath, 2 mana is too much for indestructible effect, I have 1 in 75.

Did any of you test Ephemeral Shields? Red decks are prevalent in my meta, with RW aggro and RG Monsters being the best decks.
When their Seeker attacks into my Seeker I know what card I want to have. Trailblazer into Seeker means I can tapout freely and gain initiative on my third turn, no matter what happened before.

Logan Mize have nice list (11-3-1), he ditched all 3 drops (I highly approve).

Played against 6 red decks in a row today (gameday). Playing 3 Trailblazers was great idea Smile
Tymaret aggro, RDW, RW aggro, something, Mardu and loss from GR Monsters in quarters (won game 1, mull to 5 and game 3 I kept a hand with creatures and lands, never drew non-those).
Ephemeral Shields was awesome (no one expects it and it is such a tempo play with blowout chance), so is Phalanx Leader when I was creature flooded (personal Gavony Township).
Possible more Triton Tactics is suitable for my meta. Some changes will be done for GPT next sunday.

Decks with red are mostly the ones where Hero gets the boot. I see him only as 2/2 bear in those matches because I play 3 Trailblazers and don't need his "expertise".
This is general answer that also depends on specifics of the match, but if I need a slot he mostly always volunteers. It works for me.
I have a second Game Day this sunday, people are probably sick of my deck and I will get punished by hate Smile

Btw, what do you think of the fetch mana base (x4 Flooded strand x4 Hallowed fountain) ?

UW Merfolk mana base doesn't need to kill us. We have Seachrome Coast and Wanderwine Hub before adding painful lands. A few Fountains and that is that. No need to make it easy for Burn and Scapeshift.

I am really interested to see which version will be the best at GP this weekend, mono or uw.

    @ArborLow
Defiant Strike is a 4-of just like Battlewise, Favored, Willing and Ordeal of Thassa.
Those cards are set in stone, the rest can be triffled with.

I like your list. We have equal land base which seems correct.
Few differences but stuff like 4 Tidebinder, 4 Seas, 3 Dismember and 2 Relic are here, so thumbs up.
Sideboard is always changing so no comments on that, but Monastery Siege seems very good because of our burn matchup and it provides steady stream of cards against junk.
Drawing two and discarding one is great for filtering junk we already drew up to that point, while Thassa only filters the top.
Thassa's unblockable ability and a chance to become a creature is cool but not more than Siege versatility.
With mentioned Flashfreeze and Siege occupying a third of my sideobard I feel good about my R and/or G matchups.
