It would be so refreshing if they could take a break for a block...at this point, every block looks like Wizards is saying "look, we had great ideas for every color but red. I'm pretty sure MaRo has said the opposite: that they WILL do another YMTK, but not for a while or something. Anyone remember a specific citation on this? It seems to me that it has been quite a while and they're due for another fan-included card process.
If I remember well, when they announced the M10 changes, MaRo explained that due to the nature of M10 (new cards, smaller size, etc), they weren't doing the You Choose the Card this time (which doesn't mean, though, that YCTC is gone for good...). As for the You Make the Card, in the same ocasion, he stated that we'll still have it, and it should start somewhen before the end of the year.
Challenge: make a CD counterspell (CD: CMC=2, with two different colors of mana in the cost - WU, UB, UR, UG, for example; it's not obligatory to use U in the cost though, if the person who gets the challenge doesn't want to...)
A lot of people here is complaining about the flavor of Wrath of God, about it being off of what Wizards would like. But let's just remembre when WE were NEW PLAYERS. Whem I was a starter, and when I first saw Wrath of God, I just got WOWED!!! The name WRATH OF GOD was so freaking appealing, the art, so epic, and the effect, so clear and powerful, that my yes shined and hoped for a set (actually they still do...I'm a casual player and I still have 0 ***). I think it was more or less the same with a big part of you here. Am I wrong?
And if I remember well, Wizards goal with all the changes in the Core Set's structure from 11th to M10 is to gather new players...Flavorwise, what would you prefer? Wrath of Tralala of Wrath of GOD?
Have you looked at the list of blue legends on Gatherer before? If you can find me one from before Onslaught block that A, isn't irrevocably tied to a block mechanic, and B, actually feels mythic, then by all means, be my guest. The closest I could find was Aboshan, and he seems kind of pointless as the only Cephalid (save maybe Constable) in the entire core.
I think Llawan, Cephalid Empress is as "mythic" as Aboshan, and she isn't tied to any block mechanics. More thant that, her effects just screams "CORE SET" to me.
Empress Galina would also be an option, her ability just screams "mythic".
Actually, flavor and mechanicwise, Phage is way more "mythic" than Visara. Mechanicwise, as already told in this discussion, for Phage's double "lose the game" clause. And flavorwise because she was one of the main characters of the Onslaught block (and also Odyssey and Time Spiral, if we take Jeska into account), and one of the most memorable legends ever.
(but I'd also prefer Visara...because "less mythic =/= less cool", and she is stronger than Phage, when it comes to their cards)
The Decrees all have cycling, I don't think they can be reprinted in a core set. I agree the planeswalkers are the most likely, but unlike most of you, I don't like the idea of them being reprinted. I started collecting planeswalker cards right after Lorwyn and so far every single one of them was unique (when they were basically the same card, they at least had a different art). I don't want to see five planeswalker reprints that only differ from their original versions in the set symbol. I wouldn't mind if the were all reprinted with new arts, but that's unlikely....
To the legendary creatures, I'd like to see a cycle of them in 11th Edition. Personally, I'd print these:
W - Jareth, Leonine Titan
U - Ertai, Wizard Adept or Barrin
B - Baron Sengir or Greven il-Vec
R - Jeska, Warrior Adept or maybe Tahngarth
G - Multani, Maro-Sorcerer
I'd love to see those in bold too, but unfortunatelly they're in that cursed Reserved List. That's why I didn't mention them in my wishlist (which I know, is full of overpowered cards...^_^...).
But I did forget to put Meloku on my list... I knew I forgot something....

But I'm not waiting for (and actually I hope they DON'T put) anything more than Lorwyn planeswalkers as recent mythic rares in 11th. I believe the rest will be from Time Spiral and before. Core sets usually have very few cards from recent sets, and I don't believe it's gonna be different with 11th (otherwise, it wouldn't even make sense to make a core set).
Scarling: I like the whole concept of "it's gonna hurt" you used to create this card. Even if I'm not sure how powerful this would be, I could completely see Wizards printing this. 10/10

(and that's why I clearly wrote "...or something like that...cause I knew someone would find an obscure hoser for Jimmy's submission and happily point it out...)
Being plain simple: you said the card in the first turn would be, by itself, an auto-loss for someone playing it in the first turn. And I pointed that it would not. Discussing further is just pointless, and is Seratonin's job, to rate this card.
@Blackbull: actually no. Because after the opponent's cleanup step, the maximum (not considering Spellbook or something like that) an opponent will have when you pay for the first time the cumulative upkeep is 7. So 7 + 2 = 9...
