The reason is that it just takes up valuable SB space. The only card I could really see it brought in against is UW to name Elspeth, but that MU is so good already you don't really need it. When I played agasint mono black at the GP I really just wanted to be 1 for 1ing them all day. That may sound pretty bad but you gotta remember that while your doing that each turn your closer to winning thanks to your maze so in reality (and this deck) it's pretty good.

I'm still not budging on my 61 MD lol.

You hit on the point I couldn't get accross with Slaughter Games is that it's a wasted SB slot. Just making your deck very strong Game 1 is so so important and shoring up help with your SB.

I like the quickens so far in the main, but I may make them into turn//burn in the main instead we'll see. Still not too sure about kiora but i'll test this week hopefully.

I ran a total of 4 evictions in my list at the GP and it was perfect. You need to be wiping the board frequently vs MBD. Wear//Tear is also good vs them to knock out their connections. Its all about keeping them off devotion. Trying to get too cute with this deck detracts from its goal and causes you to lose.

Hey everyone my name on here is changed from BeanWarrior to SenorClean3. So anyways.

Ya I just don't get the singleton list, I guess it could be fun for FNM but for a ptq or SCG event I really feel like running the core of the deck is nessecary. If anyone is interested I did an article for limitedmagic.com

I like that idea using the charm, but mutavault gives this deck such a big problem too thats why i think turn//burn is bette. I'm also running quicken in the main and it is just a house. I love it so far.

I'm not using quicken for divination. I'm using quicken to get verdicts off and evictions when they attack, it kills mutavaults and obzedats as well. And the quicken replaces itself it is way better than Inaction junction by a mile. True kiora does hold ruric thar into check, but then they just attack kiora and it dies unless you immediately verdict. I don't think having a card in this type of deck to combat 1 specific card using the decks resources and abilities wisely. I'm running 27 lands buckjunt, I had 28 so cutting the land didn't hurt at all since I added 5 more draw spells.

Article still isn't up sorry. Idk whats up, but I'm hoping it'll be up soon. So Kiora, ya I still dont know. she seems really good only after a wrath, but after a wrath i'd rather just fetch with the maze and leave fog mana up anyway. Like others have said she's in the weird 4 slot. Thassa i'll test out instead of divination. Right now I made changes from my gp list in.

    MB -1 Bow, -1 Temple -3 Negates
    +2 Quicken +3 Divination

    SB
    -1 Merciless
    +1 Bow

I love it so far seems strong.

Urban is > than Sphinx and I will always feel that way turn 5 I dont mind tapping out for an evolution especially after a wrath. If you are sphinx rev for 6 that means you have 9 lands out already which means your better off just activating your Maze and keeping up with a fog plan. Sphinx is good, I just don't think its good in this deck. You have to be really agressive with it for like 1 or 2 which is 4-5 mana at the end of turn which means you're probably not fogging and at that much you're better of evolutioning. I ran sphinx for a while but I don't miss it at all. Sphinx's life gain really shouldn't matter either unless your not using your life correctly as a resource. I still don't like Perimeter main. It gives away the suprise, and there are PLENTY of games I can win game 1 withouth having to play a Detention sphere so those games my opponets take out theirs or their enchantment removal and don't bring any in, so when you slam that perimeter game 2. They just can't deal with it. I think making the MD focus on 1 plan and working toward that plan makes the deck more consistent. This deck already wins game 1 a huge amount of time and needs to keep doing that. I think trying for the "fancy play syndrome" makes the deck less consistent game 1.

I get argument for swan song and I understand it I just dont like it personally. I've been fine with 1 win con in the main and I rarley go a game 1 without seeing the maze. I do think some more card draw is needed to help it out. I dont like having perimeter game 1 i really like it to be a surprise game 2/3 since most opponets have no idea about it and it really catches em off guard.

I think not have the full fogs is just a mistake I don't normally get upset about ppls ideas but I think running less than 16 is wrong. I think making the deck as strong as possible game 1 is the key and the sb needs to be built to give you the best chance for the next games. To me that means making as much I their cards as dead as possible. Not many ppl play jace adept so I don't think you need to worry about having a second win con in the main. The maze is good enough. To me this is a deck that has to have 1 plan and focus in that plan and making it consistent trying to do too much stuff makes it weaker. I relate it to the fancy play syndrome in poker where ppl try to slow play a big hand and get beat. It's just simpler and more consistent to focus on a plan of attack. And I think the SB needs to be that way as well.

I personally advocate against running any of the creatures. I used to run gatecreeper and I never miss it. I win the same speed as before, if he could fetch out mazes end then ya but since he can't I like maxing dsphere and running merciless eviction mb. I truely feel like making the game one that much better is important by maxing fogs, maxing wraths and dsphere an I really feel like less than 27 land is a mistake. You really want to be activate maze and being able to fog that means 5-8 mana in play and you can not afford to mis a land drop in this deck. Ill talk about it some more in my article it's about half done and should be don't by tomorrow ill make sure to include a link to the site as well.

Also always run the full set of maze. It needs to be 4.

I think going to less than the full set of dogs is wrong. If you want that 4th d sphere just make it your 61. I never saw a problem with it in my build and it works fine. The deck is essentially a tutor based deck so the extra card doesn't affect us much at all. I got asked about that a lot and I'm okay with it. 62 eh no but 61 seems fine and if it's the 4th dsphere you can free up sb slots as well.
