If the website's down, a fun way to use him could be to make a pile of cards with every planeswalker printed and shuffle 'em up facedown. Choose a loyalty ability on Urza and flip the top card of the pile to have Urza use the corresponding ability on the flipped planeswalker.
Like If I chose Urza's first ability (his +1) and flip a random Chandra, Pyromaster, Urza users her first ability and deals 1 damage to target player and 1 damage to up to one target creature that player controls. That creature can't block this turn.
I think these are my favorite Unstable cards so far!
I love the killbots switching with Mary- it's a direct reference to my favorite Marvel villain, Doctor Doom! In the comics, every time Doom seems to die, it turns out a Doombot died in his place. Plus I can use an Irish accent gratuitously while I play her.
The article HEAVILY implies a black border version of "switch" is coming down the pipe:
"The switch is a perfect "ninja" ability, letting you change the state of the battlefield with minimal chance for your opponent to respond. R&D wisely seems to tie it to activation so that something is on the stack, but you don't have to move too far in this space to see it leading to interesting territory:
What if:
You allowed instants to switch places on the stack?
You allowed different permanent types to switch places (e.g., artifact and enchantment)?
You implemented partial replacement (you don't inherit the untapped, targeted, attacking, etc. state when swapping)?
We won't likely see anything else in this design space for a long time, but I like being able to peek at R&D's brains to see what they might be thinking."
It would be "wise" to use switch (maybe renamed) on "Ninjas" in "a while".
Grusilda reminds me of the melder Brisela, Voice of Nightmares. It would be weird if Grusilda didn't affect Brisela, we should check with Mark on that. But I look forward to mashing many monsters together soon!
One of my favorite cards when I started playing was Royal Assassin. I flipped it around and added an 'e' to make it sound fancy. I joined the forums back in 2005 or so but after taking a break from magic, I couldn't remember my login, so I made a new account on a date that had lots of sevens in it for luck.
As for planeswalkers, either Samut or Djeru could ignite, tough call. One will be freed from a physical prison, one from a spiritual prison, and as I wrote that, damn, what a moment it would be if they both sparked?
I'm going to guess Djeru, so he can fill the white slot of (my theory) Bolas's Legion of Doom. Also, there's room for one native walker in Hour of Devastation, could be Djeru.
The problem is everyone will define 'Iconic' differently. I'm certain that most of us will disagree with many things Wizards considered 'Iconic' enough to put in this set.
Hurloon Minotaur was the face of Magic for years and a case could be made that it is "Iconic' to some of us old timers, while new players won't see anything Iconic about it.
I'm kind of wondering if this will replace from the vault sets. Has there been an announcement for one of those recently?
No announcements so far.
So far I don't see anything on people's wishlists that couldn't have just been put in an existing Masters-brand set. Why isn't Iconic Masters just Eternal Masters 2? I don't know how they're going to make it different enough to justify a whole new Masters series.
Don't get your hopes up y'all. $9.99 a pack, "high powered draft"...it's a new MMA/EMA with a different flavor.
Link says:
"Iconic Masters offers players a tour through some of the most powerful cards in over 23 years of Magic history. Featuring new artwork on many cards, the set brings an array of massive Angels, Sphinxes, Demons, Dragons, and Hydras alongside some of our favorite and most memorable spells. Every box of Iconic Masters contains 24 booster packs—each with fifteen randomly inserted game cards, including one premium card in every pack. Get your friends together to embark on one of the most iconic and power-packed Draft experiences yet!"

It's like they're trolling everyone who wants the RL gone. Don't say power-packed unless there's actually Power in packs!
We have Eternal Masters for anything not modern legal, so what's the point of Iconic Masters? There's no way even most of what's in it will be considered "Iconic". Why not just Eternal Masters 2?
*shudders*
I like the idea of minis, but keep GW the hell away from Magic.

It's like Momir Basic for planeswalker abilities!

That's the origin of my name and join date!
Confirmed!

Force of Nature
Lord of the Pit
Lightning Bolt
Counterspell
...Looks like I want Alpha Masters!
This Ban Masters pic wins the thread. I already like it more than Iconic Masters.

I was next to a guy that opened two Nissa, Steward of Elements and ended up playing him in the finals.
Her elementals killed me both games outta nowhere

...I think he's grrrrrrrreat!
There are a lot of sweet gruul beats this set, will be awesome in limited for sure! Maybe standard too.
