When the Commander 2014 precons began getting spoiled, I was very excited to see Daretti, Scrap Savant. One of the players in my group had created a Sydri, Galvanic Genius artifact combo deck for an EDH League we planned to start. The League never really came into fruition, and the only reason my friend had built the combo deck was to do well in the League. It was eventually disassembled due to my playgroup's disapproval of combo decks. After Daretti was spoiled, my friend and I had decided to re-purpose most of the amazing artifacts he had in a new mono-red artifact control deck that does not use a combo for victory.
META NOTE: My playgroup heavily frowns upon playing combos, poison, and mass land destruction. Every deck we build, we try to prevent the possibility of it going infinite, winning with infect damage, or destroying a ton of lands. I know a lot of players who do enjoy these strategies, but I believe that excluding them provides for more interesting games.
I was playing with the Dawn of the Dead, but I decided against it because, although it has great synergy with Sidisi, there have been a couple games where I didn't ever need to cast Sidisi, and Dawn of the Dead did not end up doing much and just stayed in my hand. Plus, I have a ton of other recursion, like Sheoldred and Chainer that you mentioned, that still let me abuse her just fine.
There have been a few games where I don't end up casting her because there are a lot of other things I can cast, or need to cast in order to not other people get incredibly far ahead of me. There's a lot of board control going on in the deck, and with some of the other decks in my meta, sometimes I need to focus on slowing them down before I can really let myself get ahead. I'm definitely gonna keep testing and tweaking the deck here and there. But it has been successful for the most part.
They have been working fairly well. Sidisi doesn't get casted nearly as often as Erebos would, but the value I get out of casting her is superb. Odds are that I'm gonna keep the deck with Sidisi as my commander, but I do want to test more soon.
This looks like a really awesome list. I decided to give Sidisi a spin as my commander and made a couple edits to work with her. I'm excited to test this out next time my friends and I play. Thanks again for the suggestion and letting me check out that list.
Thanks for the suggestion. I would definitely like to check that list out.
I have had this deck constructed for a little while now, and I haven't made any edits after DTK was released. Sidisi looks really great. I could see including her in this list. But I like the way she looks as a commander. I could definitely see tweaking a few cards here and there, and then have Sidisi as the general. I like how hard to remove Erebos is, but Sidisi's immediate value seems like it could be really impressive.
After playing EDH for a few years, one of my friends had built the first single colored EDH deck out of our play group; an Erebos, God of the Dead deck. But after playing it for only a couple months, he broke it apart, at which point I was inspired to recreate it with a couple twists. I liked Erebos as a commander because card advantage on a commander always seemed incredibly strong to me, and his indestructibility makes him a little hard to get rid of. The deck has a decent amount of control elements, with a not so huge creature base. But recursion is fairly heavy in this deck to allow me to get back the creatures I have lost along the way. Recently, I was suggested to try out Sidisi, Undead Vizier as my commander and she has been working great so far.

Every deck we build, we try to prevent the possibility of it going infinite, winning with infect damage, or destroying a ton of lands. I know a lot of players who do enjoy these strategies, but I believe that excluding them provides for more interesting games.
I've decided to update my decklist with the new rules of no tucking now in effect. I lost a lot of cards that were solid before the rule was changed (Spell Crumple, Hinder, Oblation, etc.). I've also lowered the curve a little since the last time I edited the decklist. A handful of lands have also been changed, most notably obtaining Flooded Strand and Windswept Heath.
Yeah, my list is definitely influenced by your primer.
I run the Dissipate and Faerie Trickery because of the good amount of recursion (including a Karador, Ghost Chieftain deck) in my meta. I always felt like my regular counters didn't stop them from doing what they wanted. I could definitely see putting Pact of Negation back in my list though. Do you have any suggestions for more grave hate besides what I already have included?
And I agree, it is a high curve. I ran less large creatures before, but after all the removal my opponents' have, I felt I didn't have enough power to push through for a win. So I added some more big guys. I could see cutting the Terastodon and Bane of Progress, but I'm not exactly sure what I'd add in place of them. Maybe some more control creatures like Glen Elendra Archmage and Venser, Shaper Savant? Hmmm, I might try that out.
Also might get Hallowed Burial and cut Terminus for it. The one extra colorless mana never really prevented me from casting Terminus, but on the other hand, I think I've only miracled it once and it didn't really effect what else I was gonna do that turn. Hallowed Burial casted post-combat main phase might be better than a miracled Terminus as well.
This is my Jenara, Asura of War EDH deck. It is a bant (my fav color combo) good stuff deck trying to capitalize on the best cards of all three of its colors. It is built for a mostly aggro strategy with a few control elements. The deck started when I first got into EDH by buying the Riku of Two Reflections pre-con. I edited the deck to make multiple copies of my creatures in order to abuse ETBs and to copy creature copying spells, like insane kicked Rite of Replication. I began to dislike the red in the deck and Riku was pretty mana intensive, because I constantly wanted to copy all my great spells. Then I saw ISBPathfinder's primer for Jenara. They were fairly similar decks, but I really liked the white cards over the red that was in my deck. I decided to swap Riku for Jenara and all the red for powerful white cards, and haven't looked back since.
The deck is still within a slight budget. I believe most of the cards are under $15. The only real changes I can see towards making if I took away the budget would be original duals (which is a pipe dream), filter lands, more fetch lands, and a equipment package. Besides these, I really like were the deck is at, and the only improvements I can think of making are past my budget.

My only problem with using Nissa for ramp is her card type. I'd prefer to have creature based ramp in this deck so that if Karametra is out I can get a 2-for-1 ramp spell.
I don't know how I feel about new Nissa. There's too many board wipes in my meta and I'd rather not lose the lands I'm grabbing. With such a high curve, I feel like losing any lands would be a real pain for me.
This is a creature based ramp deck using a ton of creatures to abuse Karametra, God of Harvests ability. It is more or less a GW good stuff deck. It is made to function without Karametra, but the acceleration she provides can be insane. The deck is built with a slight budget in mind, but there are a few expensive cards in the list, so I didn't want to consider it a budget deck. I originally built this and then turned it into a Teneb, the Harvester deck, but I decided to rebuild it to help introduce my mom back into my EDH playgroup. She only has a great Kaalia of the Vast deck, but it immediately gets hated on due to its power. I figured this would be a powerful deck to build for her without any complicated interactions.
