Oct 11, 2017Quannage posted a message on The World of KamigawaKamigawa is one of MTG's most beloved stories for a reason (actually, many reasons). Toshiro is a well-written, likeable antihero, and the war between Konda and O-Kagachi is suitably epic in scope. the books also do a great job of incorporating many of the cards from the set into the story.Posted in: Articles
Not to mention, much of the flavor text on the cards allude to a history of the war that the books can only scratch the surface of telling. It was a masterpiece, and this synopsis is a great way to bring those that missed the books up to speed. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
Also, I'm wondering if Lili's new soul searching was inspired in any way by Jace's rather harsh treatment of her. It's easy to use, manipulate and discard people you don't really care about. but I imagine watching her bridge with Jace get burned to cinders might be a real come-to-Serra moment for good ole Lili.
Now the party can officially start.
Wow. seems like Gideon knows Lili better than she knows herself. (although that doesn't seem to be much of an accomplishment).
And don't forget, Autumn, This Cylix was buried in Yavimaya, under the direct protection of Multani. without the help of two pyromancers and a time mage, Karn's attempts to get the Cylix would have been just as futile as Teferi's attempts to get his Urza artifact.
the whole "timing" issue between Chandra's stay on Dominaria and Jace's return can be explained. remember, it took a bit longer than mere days for Jhoira to rebuild the Weatherlight and put the band back together. so from the time that Chandra bolted to find Jaya and her return, that time could have (in theory at least) have passed. Also, we have no evidence that time flows the same on Ixalan as it does on Diminaria. so 2 months on Ixalan could equate to less on Dominaria. it's possible.
Jaya's now official, and she brought Chandra and Karn with her. the big question is whether Karn is going to stick around, or if he's going to go ahead and take that Cylix to new Phyrexia.
Also. Multani's back, but it doesn't look like he's interested in joining up.
Looks like Chandra is going to be hanging around longer than I expected. I actually thought she was just going to run into Jaya at Regatha, and send her to Dominaria while she continued training or something. yeah I know that sounds dumb, but that's what I thought.
Also, I just realized...they're bringing the old Weatherlight band back together...without a Minotaur? how they gonna disrespect Tangarth like that? I call foul.
there's a chance, though, that the choice wasn't his to make.
MTG Creative has made a lot of strides under Digges. He'll be missed.
It looks like Martha Welles was reading your minds...
By the way...
Any excuse to reference Terry Pratchett and Discworld is a good one.
that is all.
MaRo said that the 2-set paradigm was kind of a fail, so that's part of why they switched to one big set at a time.
HOWEVER, he also said that Creative was no longer beholden to the "New block, new plane" standard. so they do have the freedom to have back-to-back big sets on the same plane, if the storyline dictates. So there is a possibility, however slim, that the next set will still be on Dominaria.
Called it...Sort of.
